Waking Up

"Hmm I felt myself sinking in deep down a river, I couldn't see anything, it felt dark everywhere, was I dead again? am not sure, I love this life that am living, it feels strange though, I feel something heavy on me but really soft, was there a reason?" Derrick whom was in deep sleep was muttering different things to himself in his unconscious state.

Meanwhile is been over five days after the war between the orcs, Derrick was hailed a hero for saving his family and the people of the Dark's territory, even though the casualties were extremely much, it was a fact that they had won the war.

Through out the territory the baron's son was hailed the God of war, most of the men only saw Derrick fighting with different elements which dazzled them, the few who got a glimpse of the demon thought they were hallucinating and dropped the issue.

"No I feel something heavy and soft" Derrick said softly before his eye lashes fluttered before he slowly opened his eyes.

"Oh so that's why it was heavy and soft" when he opened his eyes he saw Rosetta lying on top of his chest, she was fast asleep.

Derrick sighed 'what are my parents thinking letting someone lie on an injured person' Derrick thought before his head spiralled, "My parents" he wasn't strong enough to jump up or scream but his reaction was enough to awaken Rosetta.

Rosetta apparently woke up her beautiful golden eyes sparkled, with her lashes fluttering, closing and opening, until she finally noticed that Derrick was awake "kyaaa" she shouted, apparently backing away from the big bed and falling on the floor with a thud.

She picked herself up and dusted herself before she apparently said "Is no.. not what you think, I was just here to.. to check up on you, you have been sleeping for ab.. about five days now, so am just looking after you" Rosetta stuttered saying, while her face flushed red in embarrassment, she wanted to run away but that would be more embarrassing and Derrick has just woken up, so he would have questions to ask and need something 'I should probably inform Baron Dark' Rosetta thought, before a voice apparently brought her back to reality.

"How are my parents doing? how is my mum?" Derrick asked obviously ignoring the blunder Rosetta just made, it wasn't like he was ignoring it purposely but the worry he had for his parents comes first.

'The first thing he asked about after he woke up was how are my parents, doesn't know how worried I have been for him' Rosetta pouted before apparently saying "Sir Dark is a high level warrior his injuries have mostly healed up, he is doing fine but busy with the activities of the territory, most of the family are grieving for the losses of family members that occurred during the war, so he is attending to the duties of the territory.

While Madam Dark is still resting although she has nearly healed up, she drained her mana during the fight against the orcs, and laced with the worries she had for you, her tiredness have already reached the eclipse, so she needed a good rest, but if she heard you were awake she would rush over" Rosetta finished her explanation, before sitting on an empty chair by the corner of the large bed.

"Hmm is that so, what are you doing here by the way?" after knowing his parents were fine, he wanted to poke at Rosetta who was feeling embarrassed a minute ago.

"Hmphhh" Rosetta said turning her head to the other side, 'now you remembered I was here, I have been looking after you for nothing, these past few days' Rosetta thought not showing how happy she was that Derrick has woken up even though he didn't ask of her earlier.

"Thank you Rosetta, I know you have been here for me" Derrick said making a warm smile at Rosetta, he was really thankful and could see that Rosetta has been there for him even though he hadn't been awake.

Rosetta blushed a bit after hearing a rare thank you from Derrick "Is alright, I have been watching over you, have you heard about your new identity, the people now call you the 'god of war' after singlehandedly stopping the monsters attack, you are deemed an hero" Rosetta said her eyes sparkling as if she was talking about herself.

But what Rosetta just said confused Derrick, he knew he was pumbled by the strange orcs, but why was he deemed an hero, what really happened, the only thing he remembered was falling unconscious after a taking a blow from one of those strange orcs, and after that it was blank, it was like he has been under the sea all these while, but saying that would snap Rosetta from her day dreams and she would start asking questions he had no answer for.

"I like this young lass" Derrick heard a voice in his head, the voice continued "She is just my type, when will you make her your woman? brat" the voice said.

"Uhmm Rosetta did you hear any voice just now?" Derrick asked looking bewildered

"I didn't hear anything, there is just you and me here which voice are you talk about?" Rosetta looked at Derrick feeling confused about the question he just asked her.

"No don't worry can you go get me water?" Derrick asked while looking like a lost puppy, 'so cute' Rosetta thought before saying "Am not your maid am just going because you are currently unable to" she said before abruptly standing up and leaving, after she left Derrick looked calm and finally said.

"Who the fuck are you?"

"Oh scary, I didn't hear that tone when you were begging me for power"

"Where the hell are you? and what the hell do you want?"

"Nothing really am just bored and it seems we are stuck together for the time being, anyways show some respect you damn brat"
