Ch-32 Gravity Black Bear

Julian knew what Jasper was asking for but," Sorry boy, but the promise was to stop fighting only after sunset, however the bear appeared just before sunset. You need to fight or else you will die. I am not going to interfere."

This was the worst part of his journey with Julian. When Jasper agreed to the proposal, he thought even if he was made to fight for a long time or something unexpected occurred then he would be saved, but he was wrong.

In one of his previous battle, Jasper landed himself in a life and death situation where he was very close to losing his life. He was able to survive it thanks to a little bit of luck and a miracle. This incident was enough to tell Julian's intentions towards him.

Jasper didn't know the reason Julian offered to teach him magic but he definitely had no problem if he died while battling. If he denied his orders, then there was a high possibility that he would just abandon him.

Julian never really had any responsibility for taking him in. This was a terrifying fact which he had to come to terms with as fast as possible. The black bear advanced menacingly towards Jasper and smacked its chest with such strength that it forced him to take a few steps back.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Jasper took out an ancient but shabby sword with a blunt blade and looking completely harmless in appearance . The main contribution for winning all of his battles went to the ancient sword. It was special having a rich historical backstory and belonged to one of the prominent figures of Arcane World.

The black bear did not know anything about this and frankly wouldn't have cared even if it knew. It only had eyes on the fresh meat in-front him. The bear attacked Jasper but they amounted to nothing as Jasper blocked all of the attacks. The sword may have been blunt but it was somehow able to cut deep into the bear.

Jasper cut the bear in many places but unfortunately this had little to no effect when the bear's regenerative abilities were taken in consideration. It was able to heal wounds at a very fast rate visible to the naked eye. Simple cuts were not going to be enough to deal with it.

From the books Jasper had read in Blue World in his master's library, he knew a fact about Bears which could be used in his current situation and might give him an upper hand in the battle.

Once, he had come across an extract which claimed bears biological features being very similar to humans. This meant that the bears and humans had similar weak points. If he exploited these weak points, then it should deal some damage to it. Luckily, Jasper had the necessary knowledge as they taught a lot about human weak spots in the dojo.

All these thoughts ran through his brain as the battle continued and Jasper kept dodging and occasionally cutting the bear but not being able to seriously damage it. Also, he had been battling for the whole day which meant he had already reached his limit. Still, to survive he kept his mind conscious trying to find solutions to his current problem.

This time when the Bear attacked, Jasper specifically targeted its jaws which was a vulnerable part of humans and therefore of the bear, smashing the blunt sword on it with all of his strength There was a lot of power packed behind his attack which was able to effect the bear, making it fall down and become dizzy. He didn't let go of this chance as he cut the bear at its weakest parts, poking its eyes ruthless with blood flowing out of it, breaking the nose, breaking its spine, hitting the tempel.

The pain experienced by the bear was indescribable. A creature of the Blue World would have immediately died with a broken spinal cord, but the bear didn't. Its regenerative ability was out of Jasper's estimation helping it even repair its broken spinal cord at a terrifying rate. Its brain was also equally scary as it understood its current predicament and instead of becoming unconscious activated its skills.

Jasper was forced down, sticking him to the hard ground. He wasn't able to getup no matter how much he tried because of the gravitational force released by the bear. This was the Black Furred Bear Clans fundamental skill: ' Gravity Crush '. The strength of the gravity depended on the output the user could exert.

The Black Bear Jasper was currently fighting was just a clan member so although it was able to restrain Jasper, it would have no effect on Julian.

Of course, if the black bear thought this was enough to restrain Jasper, then it was about to be surprised. He had trained with ruffians, bullies, masters and experts for his whole life and one of the main things he learned from these experience was stubbornness.

Stubbornness to fight even when the situation was unfavourable with lose eminent. Jasper's stubbornness didn't let him quit as he fought through the intense pain, somehow managing to stand up and even attack with the blunt sword.

Jasper's perseverance surprised the Black Bear, but that was all. What if he was able to stand up? It didn't mean anything when from the starting he never had any chance to defeat it.

Perhaps if Jasper was in his optimal condition the he could have used a martial art suitable to the battle and have a slim chance of killing the bear.

But, Jasper had been battling for the whole day utilizing all the martial arts he knew. Right now, he was so weak that his hands were shaking due to excessive usage. He didn't understand why Julian wanted him to continue fighting but unless his teacher interfered he was a goner for sure.

The Black Bear again kicked Jasper, smashing him on the ground. He had a bad landing as his whole weary and injuried body started hurt . The Black Bear advanced towards him for the finishing blow. Jasper was covered in his own blood, dirt and sweat as the received the blow. He blinked once and the bear was upon him with its fist raised up. One blow and it was all over. Jasper knew this, the Black Bear knew this, Julian knew this and the lynx knew this.

This scene awakened something inside the lynx that could only be described as monstrous.

Jasper was its saviour, benefactor, owner and everything dear to it. He had saved it and showered kindness when it always thought its faith to be a prey meant always be hunted by the strong. It experienced many things and most of all, it loved him. Seeing him one blow away from death heightened its emotions. Many supernatural things can happen with a person or beasts heightened emotions. Specially it was more than supernatural when this occurred in a Magical World.

The lynx awakened an ability under such conditions which would have normally never happened. It was still a child in terms of age with a height of 3 feet but its height suddenly increased to 9 feet. It transitioned from a small kitten into a large ferocious Lynx.

Julian knew about this ability of the lynx, but never expected a stray lynx to have such ability. This phenomenon also attacked the Black Bear's attention stopping its motion. It looked at the enlarged lynx wondering where it had come from . Since, both of them were beasts, the Black Bear tried communicating with it.

The Lynx understood the Black Bear but it was too angry to answer any of its silly question. It was filled with bloodlust wanting to kill the Bear. The Bear sensed this bloodlust and turned towards the lynx wanting to take it down and then deal the finishing blow to Jasper.
