TO THE RESCUE

Brian ran as fast as his legs could carry him, he was genuinely scared, what happened to Cassie, what could make her scream that way, was she hurt? When he got to the campsite she ran to him and held his arms tight while pointing towards their tent. "There was a snake in there, it was small and green, but it's definitely a snake." She said shakily. She was shaking, she always hated snakes and she despised insects.

Luckily, Brian had dealt with snakes before and he had only been bitten once. Other times, he killed the snakes that attacked him. Cassie started crying due to a mixture of fear and utter shock which she was unable to handle.

Brian calmed her down after 10 whole minutes of crying. He took her to a safe place in the bush and decided to go after the snake. As Brian made his way towards their tent, he grabbed his knife which he always has with him in one of his pockets in case of danger whenever he went camping.

Brian got to the tent and began his search for the small but seemingly terrifying snake that Cassie saw. He applied the highest level of caution because it was 6:30 pm and it was getting dark.

He moved towards their sleeping bags slowly and there he found the snake curled up camouflaging itself. "…bloody green snake" he whispered to himself with a tone of rage and then moved closer and closer, knowing that it was just a snake without venom, it was basically harmless so he carefully grabbed the snake just behind the head and killed it.

Cassie had waited for Brian to come back for about 6 minutes and then she started to panic again, did he get hurt, was he okay? "Brian!, where are you?!, Brian!!!! She screamed, crying again out of worry that he might have been bitten by the snake.

10 minutes later, Brian came back for Cassie, hugged her, and assured her that it was just a harmless snake. "There's no need to be scared anymore, I'm fine…it was just a harmless green snake. I killed it so it won't come back to scare you again, okay" Brian said, trying to put her at ease. They both went back to their tent and then made dinner but Cassie was reluctant to eat after what she just experienced.

Even though Brian had calmed her down, Cassie was still scared. He then reassured her that nothing bad would happen to her as long as they were together. They ate and talked for a few hours while enjoying the view of the stars. At this point, Cass had calmed down more than earlier.

The following day, Brian and Cassie had decided to leave the woods after what happened the previous day. "I wanted this to be a memorable experience for us but I ruined it. Bringing you out here was a bad idea. I'm sorry. Brian said, wearing a long face. Cassie felt bad for making him feel that way " Brian it's not like that, I didn't mean to make you feel bad.

Asides the Incident with the snake I actually enjoyed this it was very thoughtful of you, maybe we could redo this date, outside the woods of course." She laughed. That cheered him up, he looked forward to it "No mistakes this time, I promise"

When Natalia got Cassie's text the day before she smiled, she was glad Cass was spending time with Brian, she was always rooting for them to be a couple, as far as she didn't get left behind. "Don't get too crazy girl!!!" she replied with a winky face. She looked around, it always seemed so boring when cass wasn't around.

She picked up her phone once more stared at it for a while and picked up a magazine, which she was sure would put her to sleep in no time.

"Ding" her phone screen lit up, she thought this was another message from cassie, but she was wrong. The message was from David, " hey,….. Uhmmmm….. Are you busy tomorrow? I need your help with something. If it isn't any trouble?" she had mixed emotions she didn't know whether to feel happy or to feel worried,

David sounded tense in his text, they had been texting for a while after the day at the creamery, and he had never been so formal or hesitant. "Yh…. I'm free tomorrow, where do you wanna meet?" they both decided to meet close to the park as it would be an easier access point for them both.

David didn't know what to do about the situation with Dante, he was worried and didn't know who to call either. Then he remembered Natalia and the conversation he had with her at the creamery, he knew Nattie was smart and would be able to handle the situation wisely.

She was reserved and wasn't known to gossip either, so he was confident that the news was going nowhere. So he figured he would call her and ask for some advice one–on–one.

Kate had only a few days until her suspension was over. She had started to contemplate changing schools because of the humiliation that went down about two weeks ago. This was her decision after seeing that Brian, the only reason she was willing to go back, had turned a deaf ear towards her.

Her mom found out about this whole cleaning up her room. She found Kate's laptop on the bed, with some research on institutional transfers. She was furious, "I didn't raise a brat, who does she think she is, making such rash decisions under my roof" Kate's mom wasn't gonna take this. She had made up her mind, she was going to be strict with Kate, "No one is changing schools!"
