DARK SKIN, SEDUCTIVE EYES!

It was Thursday morning, Nattie and Maddie usually had P.E together every Thursday morning, but this time Maddie want there. Natalia had started to get worried, her phone battery had died when she was done texting David so she hadn't spoken to Cassie since then. After P.E, when Cass didn't show up, went into the girls' Locker room and tried to call her to check on her.

The phone rang over and over again until finally, she decided to pick up. Cassie wasn't feeling too well, she had been down all night and into the morning due to the stress and mosquitoes from the day before. It had completely skipped her mind to call Cass. "Uhmm... Hello...." She said very weakly. "Heyyy, Cassie, are you okay you don't sound too good."

Cassie cleared her throat and sat up properly "Nattie, I'm so sorry I didn't call to tell you.... I'm not feeling too well. I won't be coming to school today, or maybe until I feel better, "

Nattie felt sad, disappointed mainly, she hated spending a day one school without Cass. Cass was basically the only one she could hold a proper conversation with, well asides from Maddie, who she feels talks to her only because of Cass and David. "Hope it's not too serious? Do you need anything, I can get it for you after school, I'll come over"

"Thanks but nahh, I'm good, but sure come over so we could chill. Don't miss me too much" She said and laughed. "Ha ha, very funny." Nattie responded and ended the call. She looked around in the locker room and saw many people she barely knew. Maddie wasn't here either, but she was sure Maddie was in school. She freshened up, got changed, and headed back to class.

When it was time for lunch Nattie found Maddie in the cafeteria, but, she was with someone. Which was weird, Maddie was almost always alone. Well, except when she was with her and Cassie. Nattie, thought hard about walking over to their table. She did not want to make the whole thing awkward. After all, Maddie had left for lunch without her, met up with someone else, and started. She felt a hint of jealousy.

She decided to leave them alone and just eat at some other table. She sat down and started to eat slowly while texting Cass about Maddie. "I don't wanna sound like I'm overreacting but.... I felt bad fr, she didn't even wait for me and she hasn't looked around once. Funny how I don't even know who she is texting."

Cass knew that the littlest possible things got to Nattie very easily, and she would get hurt very quickly. "Can you maybe get a picture so I can see who it is?" She replied, this was the first time she was absent from school since the term started and she definitely did not want Maddie and Nattie to be on bad terms.

She was sure that if she went they would have all sat together and had lunch like they always did. She also wondered why Maddie was acting like that all of a sudden.

"Beep Beep" Cassie's phone chimed. She picked up her phone and opened up the message, she zoomed in and let out a soft gasp, she would recognize that ginger hair anywhere. She texted back as fast as she could, "that's Ava !!!" She was confused at this point, Ava didn't seem like the kind of person Maddie would want to hang out with.

She was one of the cheerleaders and always had people around her, Maddie always stuck her as someone who preferred to be in their element, alone, and only open up to people they genuinely trust.

Maddie was in her last class before lunch when she met Ava, and if she was being honest she was in awe. She stared at her as she talked with the other cheerleaders before walking into the class. "Is this seat taken?" She asked in the most confident voice she had ever heard.

All she could do was shake her head from side to side, "Nice going Maddie, dumb as always." She thought when she realized how weird she looked shaking her head from side to side with her mouth slightly open.

When it was time for lunch she didn't even feel the urge to get up, in her heart she hoped that Ava wouldn't leave either. Not that she wasn't hungry, but she just wanted to be with her, even though that felt weird to her. Why did she feel so attracted to Ava, she turned around and found Ava staring at her.

"You're an odd one aren't you" Ava said chuckling while looking at Maddie's table. Maddie hadn't even realized that she had been scribbling on the table.

"Oh, shit!!!" She said and folded her arms "nahh it's not like that, I was thinking of something" Maddie said shyly. She never thought that she would even be in a situation where she found it difficult to maintain eye contact, this was new, but why though. Maybe, it was Ava's confidence that intrigued her so much, and also the fact that she had the most perfect dark-toned skin.

When she finally looked up and shared eye contact with Ava, she nearly held her breath. Her eyes were beautiful, the most perfect dark brown shade, she had a kind of siren-looking eyes.

She noticed she had been staring again so she quickly snapped out of it so she didn't seem like a creep. "Aren't you going for lunch?" Ava got up and asked, sitting on the side of her desk. "Uhmm... I will, sure I will, a girl's gotta eat" She gulped hard, she felt like she would tear herself apart, what was it with her and all these cringe replies she had been giving?

"You wanna maybe have lunch with me, oh mind my manners, I'm Ava" She said stretching out her hand. Maddie smiled and too her hands shaking and feeling simultaneously, "Maddie, nice to meet you."

"What, Ava, like Ava the cheerleader. You don't find that weird." Nattie texted Cass back. "Of course I do, I'm stressed to wrap my head around it all, maybe she is just exploring, you know making new friends, well I hope." Cass didn't know how to feel at that point.

"Heyy Nattie, don't you wanna come over here." Natalia's head shot up immediately after she heard her name she looked around, wondering who called her when she saw Maddie waving at her. She gulped hard and texted Cass "shit, Maddie just asked me to join them, talk to you later. Love you. PS: I'm scared"

Cass was having a little bit too much fun with all this, she laughed when she saw Nattie's text and she wished she was there. "Oh poor Nattie."
