Chapter Twenty-seven

Before Bella knew it, she was already knocking at Chris door. She was knocking desperately because she needed answers to the missing puzzles in her life.

After knocking for about 5 minutes with no response from Chris she decided to leave because she doesn't think Chris was in his room

"I guess that explains why their were no guards outside his room. " Bella said helplessly turning away from the door but heard Chris voice before she could take a step.

"To what do I own this amazing surprise?" Chris said wondering why Bella would be at his door in her pyjamas at that time of the day. Chris was fully dressed in a Tom Ford grey suit and trouser with a white shirt and wine tie.

Bella thought Chris was been mean by not opening the door for her.

"Have you been watching me knock the whole time?" Bella asked with a frown

"Well.... Not intentionally."  Chris replied .

"The guards informed me that a woman was knocking profusely at my door."

"As a matter of fact I was in the middle of a business meeting, I had to excuse myself because it was you."

I couldn't send the guards because I didn't want to scare you. Chris said with a concerned look.

Bella was totally dumbfounded because she didn't think Chris was the type to leave a meeting for anyone and especially not for someone like her.

"Come in." Chris said opening the door with his card.

Bella followed him inside the room. Bella couldn't help but admire the beauty of the room. The room was a combination of white and gold. Everything in the room speaks royalty . The room was more like a presidential suite.

Bella felt like the room was specially designed for Chris. The beauty of the room is could not be quantified by words.

"Make yourself comfortable, I need to make an important call please." Chris said motioning for Bella to sit.

Bella checked the time on her phone and it was almost four in the morning .

"What on earth am I even doing here, why was I so impatient. I could have waited till I got back to London." Bella thought in her head and suddenly felt so uncomfortable been alone in a room with Chris so she stood up to leave when she saw Chris coming back to the room.

"Sorry I had to round up the meeting with the clients because their flight leaves by five this morning." Chris explained to Bella.

"Oh... no problem." she replied with half smile

"So tell me, why are you here at this time of the day."

Am very sure it must be important for you to be here. I know am one of your least favourite person in the world so tell me. " Chris said searching Bella's eyes.

"Well I just want to know how we met in 2015. I suddenly remembered that Bianca was supposed to go to 2015 gala with her boyfriend, they are married now though and I can remember we went to the boutique to pick out her outfit together. I bought that red gown I wore in that picture the same day. I got the dress for prom but I can't seem to wrap my head around how I got to go to the event. Gala is not an event I should forget that easily. I still remember things that happened to me when I was much younger because I have a very good memory."

The most annoying part is that I can't even remember celebrating my 17th birthday. My birthday was supposed to be two days to the event because I remember telling Bianca when I saw the invite." Bella said but didn't get a response from Chris

" You've been the only person that has been sincere with me so far. Please tell me what you know am begging you. " Bella said almost at the brim of tears

"Bella it's really not in my place to tell you what happened. Your family members should be the ones to tell you about what happened." Chris said as he loosened his tie

Bella finally got the confirmation that she needed. It was glaring that something happened before her 17th birthday and she knew it because of how Chris was trying not to talk about it.

"I now know it for sure that something happened to my memory 6 years ago. It means my family members have been lying to me for good 6 years, even Bianca?" Bella muttered feeling hurt.

"You know what Chris, if I had the intention of asking my family members about what happened 6 years ago I won't be here asking you to tell me what you know." Bella said in a firm voice.

" It's no longer a secret that I lost my memory 6 years ago and you all have been lying to me. Am no longer a baby. If you guys keep hiding my problems then how do you expect me to face it." Bella said in annoyance.

" Chris you've asked me if I remembered you or not. Deep down am sure you want me to remember you but if you choose not to help me how do you expect me to remember? Even if at the end of the day I still can't remember a thing I'll know I tried. I'll know I didn't give up without a fig..." Bella said but her last statement was cut off by Chris.

"You lost your memory the day we met understood? Do you know how hard it was for me ? I looked everywhere for you but I couldn't find you. You didn't even tell me your real name back then."

"At first I wanted to find you because I felt really guilty that I took away your innocence but I eventually realised it that I was in love with you."

I never knew it was possible to fall in love with someone at first sight. I couldn't be with any other woman for the past six years because you're all I see."

You coming back to my life was the biggest blessing yet, I missed you every single day. Do you know how many times have stopped myself from calling you or from coming to see you because I didn't want you to hate me more."

You already saw me as the Christian Hampson everyone knew, their was nothing I could say that would have changed your mind. I buried myself in work for the past six years because I wanted to forget you but I just couldn't."

" I love you so much that it hurts so bad. I know it wasn't your fault that you got into that accident and I blame myself every single day for leaving you alone in the room . "

"Do you know how hard I looked for you when I came out of the rest room and you were gone. I found Bianca after 6 months of searching for you but she won't even let me meet you. Everyone was so scared that you'll loose more of your memory if I showed up in your life. Do you know how much I regret the fact that I didn't beg them to be in your life:? I could have been happier ." Chris said letting out all his emotions with tears in his eyes

Bella didn't understand what he meant by the statement Chris made earlier about him taking away her innocence. She was still confused with a lot of things.

"What did mean when you said you took away my innocence? and you said you found Bianca after six months, does that mean we went to the event together? " Bella asked

"Well , according to what you told me back then, you said you are filling in for your best friend that was sick. You told me you came with your best friends boyfriend who needed a date." Chris said

"I guess that explains how I got to the event. So answer the second question." Bella said
