Chapter Twenty-six

The flight landed in New York at exactly 7pm. The flight lasted 8 hours. To Bella that has been longest 8 hours of her life so far because she knew there were a few things she needed to understand when she got back to London.

The rest of the trip was boring because Chris was so engrossed in his work after the conversation he had with Bella.

Bella didn't say a word to him because she was so mad at him for not allowing her stay with the other attendants. The only thing that saved her from boredom was her phone because she was able to watch some K-drama movies she had downloaded on Netflix . She didn't even realise that she had slept off. Surprisingly she woke up to meet herself on a king size bed in a luxurious but simple room.

The first thing she did was to check if she still had her clothes on cause you never can tell. She walked out of the room to discover that Chris was still so engrossed with his laptop. He was still working even when Bella came out. She apologised for sleeping off when she was supposed to be keeping him company.

They got logged into a 5 star hotel and surprisingly they all had a room to themselves. Talk about working with Hampson Airways .  Bella discovered that their were four other flight attendants, Nadia, Alexia , Liam and Lillian. She was more than happy to know that Alexia and Liam were on the same flight as her. She knew it'd give them a better opportunity to plan her mom's proposal. She was super excited because it was the first time the three of them were riding together since they started work. She knew the trip was going to be superb even if it was for a short while.

They all went to their rooms to freshen up because they had plans of visiting some interesting spots in the city.

Nadia graduated from NYU so they were sure they'd have fun because she'll be their tour guide. She also  studied Tourism in school which came as an added advantage to them.  Bella and the rest agreed to meet at the lobby at exactly 8pm.

The first thing they did was to have dinner at the hotel restaurant before heading out. The two pilots Desmond and Princely decided to join the flight attendants in their little adventure.

Nadia had listed out the names of places she wanted them to visit. She had already made a call to one of her friends to let them use her car and the friend was nice enough to borrow them the car.

The first place they decided to visit was Empire State Building . It is the tallest building they've ever seen in their entire  life except Nadia who had visited the place severally. The building had one hundred and two stories and it had such an amazing view.

Bella and her colleagues decided to book their tickets and got into the elevator. Nadia advised  them to head up to the 82nd floor and 102nd floor because both views were incredibly stunning and it gave them the opportunity to see all the city's major landmarks.

They spent about 30 minutes at the Empire State Building taking pictures. They all took more than enough pictures before proceeding to their next destination.

Their next stop was at Times Square. Nadia told them that if they wanted to experience some of the fun stuff in New York that they must not miss out on what they call the crossroads of the worlds.

There are Huge billboards, masses of people, people in costumes who look like Spider-Man or Mickey Mouse. On Times Square there was so much to see. Especially during the night, this place has its own magic and they all loved it.

They spent about one hour at Times Square before heading to a Broadway show.

The show lasted for about two hours so they decided to go to Lower East Side Bar and Restaurant. They ordered for drinks and danced the night away before heading back to their hotel rooms .

Bella never knew it was really fun to have more than one friend. She wasn't really a social butterfly in school so she didn't make friends. She was more about focusing more on her studies. She was thankful to God that she had Bianca as a friend because She made her teenage years less boring.

Bella and Bianca barely  had the chance to hang out since Vera's  surgery coupled with the fact that Bella was always busy and Bianca was now pregnant but they've been communicating really well on phone.

Bella remembered how scared her best friend was when she found out that she was pregnant because she taught she was going to loose her husband but to her greatest surprise her husband took the news really well. He was really happy. Bella could not help but smile at the thought of it.

She is super excited to see Bianca's child . She couldn't wait to see Bianca on Sunday during her mum's proposal. They were all positive that Vera would say yes because they knew how much she loves Joe.

Bella also had in mind that she'd plan a surprise baby shower for Bianca when the time is right.  Surprisingly Bianca's husband Austin also called Bella tgat he'd like to plan a surprise baby shower  for his wife. 

Bella was super excited for the weekend because she knew her mum was totally clueless about what's to come.

Bella was off for the rest of the week based on her schedule so that'd will give her to opportunity to supervise everything we've put in place so far.

Bella remembered the first time she helped in planning something was when she help Bianca in preparing for 2015 gala. Her husband whom was her boyfriend then got invited for the event so he asked Bianca to go with him. Bella remembered she was only 16 then and it was funny how she couldn't remember celebrating her 17th birthday.

She racked her brain severally but she couldn't remember Bianca going to the gala or giving her any gist about it.

Everything Chris said was starting to add up.

"How did I end up in 2015 gala instead of Bianca or did we go to the event together? How come I can't remember anything." Bella thought in her head. She knew right there and then that she needed to talk to Bianca.

She immediately picked up her phone to call her best friend. It rang severally but there was no response so she knew the next person she could talk to was her mum so she called her but there was no response.

She called her brothers too but there was no response either so she decided to go to Chris. She needed someone that could help her in solving the puzzle.
