The Shigetsu Mentors

"Are you two dating?" Liqin whispered with a smug look. He couldn't help but think that something must be going on between them at how Shun was protective over Mei.

"No, we are not!" Shun and Mei stated at the same time. Their cheeks were blushing in a pink hue.

"We are childhood buddies, and I'm friends with his brother. That's why..." Shun trailed off while trying to calm himself.

"Oh, I see," Liqin smirked and playfully wiggled his eyebrows toward them.

"Liqin, cut it out," Su Fang bonked Liqin with her stick when she noticed the atmosphere between Shun and Mei became uncomfortable. "Let's go back to the topic."

"I think Mei is best suited in Mage, Support, and Marksman," Yami suggested while looking at the classes. "Since she will be placed at the back."

"That's it! Mei, you can choose between the three classes. Don't worry. You can always change class in the future," Su Fang smiled and patted Mei's head for comfort.

"O-okay," Mei muttered and decided on what she wanted. "Then, I'll choose the Mage Class."

"Perfect!" Su Fang exclaimed with excitement. She was about to ask Yami about his choice when the door burst open, and a woman entered the room with an angry face.

"Where are my fries!?" the woman screamed and surprised everyone in the room. "Who ate it!?"

Yami, Mei, and Shun looked dumbfounded at her reaction. It was the first time they had seen her.

The woman walked inside the room and directly went to Liqin, who was taking a quick nap.

"Was it you again, Liqin!?" she grabbed Liqin's collar and shook his body aggressively until he woke up.

"Oh, Lihua, you're back," Liqin opened his sleepy eyes and waved at her casually.

"Did you eat my fries again!?" Lihua asked while gritting her teeth. "I want to them now. Puke out my fries!"

"Um, Lihua, we have a guest," Su Fang was disgusted by what Lihua had just said. She grabbed Lihua's shoulder and pulled her away from Liqin. "We can buy more fries later."

"You already generate chaos here, Lihua," a buff man stated while followed by another lean guy.

"Yan, Quan, welcome back!" Liqin stated cheerfully and waved back at them.

"Sup Liqin. Are these the new recruits you are talking about?" Liao Yan asked and looked at the three sitting quietly on the sofa.

"Yes, they are," Liqin answered and went behind the sofa where they were sitting. "This is the future Mangetsu Squad."

Liqin leaned down on Yami's ears and whispered. "Don't worry, they know about you, but you can trust them."

Yami's eyes glanced back at Liqin. He trusted them, but he felt uneasy that more people knew his real identity.

'I'll kill them if they betray me someday,' Yami thought.

"You're that Raider?" Lihua grabbed Yami's face and watched for any signs of him being a Raider. "You look cute to be called a Raider. Those monsters look hideous and gross."

"Okay, everyone settled down," Su Fang pulled Lihua and let Yami breathe. "Let me introduce them. This is the Shigetsu Squad."

"This loud girl is Lin Lihua, a Marksman. The lean guy is Lai Quan, a Fighter, and their captain, Liao Yan," Su Fang introduced them one by one with a proud smile. "This is our first Legend rank Squad in Tsuki branch."

Yami looked at them with wonder. Their confidence radiated off their body that Yami couldn't ignore, and he liked to duel with them someday.

"Without further ado, these three aimed to become Legend rank. They'll be thrown into the brutal world of Raiders and Combatants. The admission approval will be given tomorrow. Hence, the Warrior rank tournament will start in two weeks," Liqin stated with a knowing smile. He went to the Shigetsu Squad and put his hand over their shoulders.

"During those two weeks, you three will mentor our new recruits and give them one-on-one instruction," Liqin added casually.

"Hey, don't decide something without our consent," Lihua grumbled and shrugged Liqin's hand.

Liqin chuckled and stepped aside. "This is an order from our branch director. Of course, I will help prepare them too."

Lihua was about to disagree when Quan tugged her back. "We have no choice if the order comes from our boss, Lihua," Quan stated firmly. Leaving no disagreements.

Yami watched and monitored their actions and exchanges. His eyes stared at Liao Yan, the captain. In Yami's eyes, he was the strongest among the three, and he wanted him to become his mentor.

"Fine, I'll do it, but I'll choose whom I want to train," Lihua stated firmly, and her eyes gazed at the three in front of her. Since she knew that Yami was a Raider, she wanted to test his strength and power. "I'll take that little guy."

Yami was surprised that he was chosen by Lihua. He wanted to reject her offer, but he was dragged by Lihua to her side.

"That settled then," Su Fang clapped her hands with glee. "Mei can be with Yan since he had experience with Mage Class."

"Nice to meet you, Mei," Liao Yan greeted her with a serious expression, making Mei shuddered with shyness.

"Nice to meet you too," Mei said while giving a slight bow of respect.

"Then I'm left with him," Lai Quan looked at Shun from top to bottom. Analyzing his potential and aura.

"Pleasure to meet you," Shun greeted while trying to act mellow, but his heart was beating faster than usual. He never expected a Legend rank Combatant would become his mentor.

"Nice! Now you three listen to your mentors and polish your skills and resilience for the next two weeks," Liqin chirped with satisfaction.

"Will you join them today, Liqin?" Su Fang asked when she saw Liqin going through the door.

"I won't be available today since I have a lot of work to do. The stress of being a Mythic rank Combatant," Liqin flicked his long brown hair with a smug look while lowly bragging about his status.
