Octopus Grip

Headmaster Garcia felt that the strength of the rope started decreasing and he could be able to pull Blake toward him.

'Has this kid run of out gas already?' While he was thinking he saw that the thin threads coiled around the main rope started to separate. Everyone including Harold was shocked to see this because they had never seen something like this happen before and they couldn't understand whether Blake was doing it purposely or not.

After a few seconds, 7 such threads separated from the main rope and were levitating in air. These threads were light purple in color and translucent.

'I gotta give it all now.' Blake thought as he exerted his full power and the threads as well as the main rope turned a little darker. The threads shot out like a snake and coiled themselves against the headmaster's different body parts like his neck, arms, torso, legs, and ankles. There was one thread coiled around every part but 3 around his neck.

Headmaster Garcia was impressed by seeing this. The threads around him were tight but not enough to affect someone as strong as him.

'The threads around the neck aren't applying any pressure on my windpipe but the one on my legs and ankles are tight and are pulling hard. Looks like the threads around the neck are just for intimidation but for the legs and ankles, he wants me to lose my balance and fall.' Headmaster thought. He was going to stop the test but then another thought came to his mind.

'Let's see how far this kid can go.' he thought and started circulating mana throughout his body. But then a frown appeared on his face and he looked at all the threads. He couldn't understand what was happening.

'My mana is getting interrupted. This seems like the innate skill of this kid's soul spirit.' he thought

He let his grip on the purple rope loose and said

"Test complete kid. You pass with flying colors."

Blake took back the rope and all the 7 threads into his hands. He smiled and thanked the headmaster. Headmaster then exited the training room and made their way back to his office. Blake and the others followed him. On the way, Harold asked Blake

"What was that Blake? This is the first time I am seeing it."

Blake also got excited and said "Uncle Harold it was something I practiced at home when I was bored. I wanted to surprise everyone when I spar with Arya but I had to use it today during the test. I call it the Octopus Grip"

Before Harold could reply Arya quickly interjected "Hehe...Blake if you think such petty tricks can help you defeat me then you are wrong."

Anya pinched Arya's ear and said "Too much confidence is never a good thing Arya." Arya rubbed her red ears while giving her mother a wronged expression.

"Let's discuss all that at home. For now, let's see what class you all will be assigned to." Harold said as he hurried everyone to follow Headmaster Garcia.

After a few seconds, everyone was sitting in the headmaster's office. He was scribbling something on the three forms regarding the kids' admissions. No one said anything as they already knew that all three kids have been selected. Now the only matter was which class they will be assigned to.

Headmaster Garcia looked up and said "Let's talk about Simon first. He has good potential but in the form, it's written that he would like his side subject to be research and development. So I am placing him in Class B. He is Class A material but then he won't have much time left for the R&D classes. What is your say in this?"

Harold looked back at Simon who was sitting on the sofa with Blake and Arya. Simon looked at his father and said

"I think Class B will be better. It will let me focus on what I really want to do. If I take class A then I will have to focus on combat rather than research."

Harold and Anya were happy with their son's decision. Normally kids their age would want the highest class available so that they can show off. The prestige of being in the top classes was not something that could be ignored.

Garcia was happy to hear this and said "It is quite surprising to have such a mature 6-year-old. Now let's talk about Arya. Though her potential is A-class, I was impressed by her strong willpower and fiery personality. Something that is quite rare I am afraid. So I have decided to promote her to Class S."

Anya looked confusedly at Sheila and then at the headmaster and asked "If I am not mistaken, weren't S-classes only for senior academies?"

"Yes but now that Knights and Soul masters will learn together, the government has given funds to a couple of junior academies to start S-class so that combat-based knights and soul masters have a good foundation and practical knowledge can be given priority." Headmaster Garcia said.

He then continued to say that "According to the guidelines A-class students will be given the opportunity to challenge S-class students at the end of every year. Those who graduate from the junior academy as an S-class will get direct admission in senior academy S-class as well."

Blake who was in the back was oblivious to what S-class was but now hearing what the headmaster said was happy. He didn't want to study those theoretical subjects like Simon. He wasn't a battle maniac like Arya but he still wanted to be totally combat-based.

Anya and Sheila looked back at their kids and seeing their excited faces they understood that now even no one can stop them from going to the S-class.

The headmaster then bade goodbye to the 6 of them as they left his office. He then looked at the communicator disc on the desk and pressed some buttons. After ringing a few times a cold voice came from the communicator

"Hey Dad"
