Clarity of the Dense Fog

"So you won't let go of this case huh?" he asked in a lowered voice.

"Not until I'm alive," I shouted and slammed my hand on his luxurious office table.

"Well, there isn't a problem that money can't solve. " He said while rubbing his chin and his smile showed his wickedness.

"What do you mean?"

"If you would leave this case you would be given a handsome amount that you would have never seen in your entire life and will award with a high official post we will make you so strong that everyone in Italy would be afraid of your name even." He opened a suitcase full of capital and I replied,

"What do you think you are huh? Will you be able to repay that innocent life? You can't ever repay even with all of your treasure!!!"

"These all things are secondary with money and why do you bother that old guy's life he was destined to die someday what's the matter if it came sooner."

"Your money and greed have made you completely blind and stone-hearted but I'm not like you take your filthy cash with you I won't feed myself on innocent souls."

"We'll see where this kindness would help you when you would be starving."

"It's better than filling your stomach with the flesh of innocents."

"So you won't agree easily right?"

"Over my dead body!"

"Well, then you would agree after you see this! " Before my eyes were the helpless wife of Mr Francisco and his 3-year-old daughter who were begging for their lives

Please don't kill us spare our lives! they were crying and pleading for their lives, that innocent girl was crying after seeing the condition of her mother.

"Kill them!" He ordered

"Stop!!!" I screamed

I woke up suddenly and sat panting heavily, my heart was beating so fast as it would explode, and I swiped sweat off my forehead. I was still lost in that unforgettable and dreadful time. Not this again why are these things torturing me again? I want to get rid of them forever, I want to forget this pain forever. I held my temples because of my severe headache. Then that boy came with a glass of water,

"You might need this" I drank it hurriedly.

"Thank you"

"Do not think that I had forgiven you"

"I know my sin is unforgivable, but there is something I think you should be aware of."

"What is that?"

"I did leave that place but I didn't abandon Mr Francisco's case, I left it in the hands of my most trusted mate."

"Well you should know too that the trusted mate of yours didn't do anything but instead shook hands with Mr Lorenzo." it shooked me to the bone.

"What? No that's not possible." I said in a state of disbelief.

"Well, this is the bitter reality of this world, the one who is closest to you hurts you the most." after saying this and giving me a deep wound in my soul he left my room.

How can he do this? How? Why Rosanne didn't tell me about anything? Or did she don't know that? Why did he betray me? Why there are only hyenas around me who pretend to be with you but leave when you need them the most? What happened behind me? What and why is this happening? I need to know the reality behind this.

I went downstairs immediately and saw him in the kitchen pouring coffee into two cups.

"I need to talk to you right now"

"I have many questions for you too" We both sat at the dining table.

"What happened after I left that place?"

"You were the last gleam of hope for me and my family there after you left, Mr Edmondson came to us and said that he had an offer for us?"

"What kind of offer?"

"He said he would get me a suitable job and promised to give us a peaceful and wealthy life if we would remain silent and didn't raise the voice of justice for my father."

"He said that?"

"Yes he did but I refused his offer immediately. After that, he tried to persuade us many times to leave our case and settle for something else but each time they had to go empty-handed."

"What happened after that did they stop coming?"

"Stopped coming huh, devil never stops making your life difficult. The other day Mr Lorenzo and his men came in and warned us to leave that place or else they will kill my whole family. They took my mother and sister with them, I tried to stop them as hard as I can, but it was of no use. They beat me to death and left me lying lifelessly in my home the last thing I could remember was the crying face of my mother and sister. When I regained my conscious, an old lady who was our neighbour was sitting beside me. She told me that they killed my father the same way because they couldn't stand his bravery against them. She further told me what and the reason why my father was tortured to death. How funny is that I didn't know the actual reason behind my father's death instead I was told that my father got killed in the mansion because of a shootout. I was raged at that time by the one who didn't tell me the real reason for my father's death, Didn't I even have the right to know about my own father's death? My only sin was that I was small and this world's rule is that only big is right and small is wrong. She insisted gave this place as soon as possible or else I would be killed too. When I thought deeply I realised that I had no choice instead of leaving that place and seeking help. As I was sitting there someone knocked at the door when I went to see who is it something strange happened when I reached there."

"What ?"

"There was an anonymous undercover man who came near to me and gave me an envelope, and left quickly without telling me his name or saying a single word, I was confused and curious. When I opened it so there was a letter saying,

"Leave this place and go to this address there you would get all your answers,

House 313 Gallons Street"

When I went there he told me that you're the real reason that my father couldn't get justice, I was as ferocious as fire but he calmed me down and told me to wait for your arrival if I wish to get revenge on you, a few days past and I got the letter which you have stolen from me, I left as soon as I got that letter and left to kill you"

I was spellbound after listening to his horrible experience and said nothing after that because I didn't understand what I should say, none of my words would be enough to console his pain. I didn't know that when this dense fog would clear, before me would be such a hideous sight of bloodshed, betrayal, grievance and injustice. I was unable to do anything in the past but what I can do right now is.....
