We ran towards the stairs, and without hesitation, even skipping some steps, we went deeper and deeper into the dungeon. We didn't quite know how, but we both seemed to know where the scream came from and sprinted towards it.
We had to be careful after we passed floor ten as monsters were all around us. But they all seemed to be still affected by that pressure we felt as they didn't attack us. So it was just a matter of not crashing into one of them as we ran, descending deeper into the dungeon without a moment to breath.
We paused at the end of floor 25, where the stairs led down to the next floor. We didn't want to stop, but we were both incredibly out of breath, and we knew our effectiveness would be minimal if we couldn't even keep our breathing in check. We also need to collect our thoughts. We could no longer rely on the map to guide us. But we still needed to go another floor down. The scream came from floor 26, a floor yet fully explored.
