Chapter 50: Home?

I made Lulu walk behind me as we entered the kitchen to find Terra glancing over a photo album at the counter. She peeked up and smiled before pointing at two seats across from her.

"You two sure took your sweet time to get here. Please sit," Terra said, and we sat down. "I got so bored waiting around that I began to look over my handy work. Wait, no, sorry, where are my manners? How are you, cousin Lulu, cousin Ash?"

Lulu grabbed my hand under the counter as it was trembling. She couldn't seem to meet Terra's eyes and lowered her head.

"A-Are we really related?" I asked.

"Oh? You two are so adorable! No, not by blood or anything, at least. It's just a nickname I gave you as you are Keepers like I was. So, don't worry, your kids won't come out all wonky and deformed."

Terra laughed, and my face grew red as a calm seemed to wash over Lulu. She didn't let go of my hand but did lift her head to face Terra head-on with me.

"What do you mean by handy work?" Lulu asked.
