Letter From Father

Bells chimed as soon as Sue Terin landed. Standing in front of hundreds of grave tablets hanging onto a huge pillar, she bowed to offer her respect to her foster father and the latter's ancestors.

"Master, there it is!" Nyx, whom Sue named after realizing how mouthful the word 'phoenix' was, pointed at the tablet to their left.

It was the stone tablet of her foster father, Ruen Terin.

As she strode, a lump clogged her throat. Facing that very familiar name again, her heart was in turmoil. After all, there was a reason why she always regarded him in her mind as 'foster father'. Sue wanted to detach her feelings from him in hopes to lessen the pain of loss she constantly felt after his death.
