Chapter 4 Go to School

Winter arrived. There were many new flowers brought by Lucas into the garden. Since Lucas had known who she was, Haley felt much more relaxed, although she was still so angry that she gritted her teeth.

"Rose?" Haley looked at the pink flowers in the corner and asked Vivian. Vivian was a new maid that Lucas brought to her in the name of no one to take care of her.

"Yes, miss Haley." Vivian smiled lightly. Haley always thought of Emile.

"Harriet, how about these new flowers? I especially moved them from Michaelson's house." Lucas crossed his legs and took a sip of coffee in the pavilion on the inner side of the yard. He raised his head and looked very proud.

"How dare you show off in Lisa's house?" Haley was speechless. "And I'm allergic to roses."

The garden wall of the Bolton family used to be the same as that of the Michaelson family. However, after Haley was born, because of her allergy, the roses rarely appeared in front of her.

"When did miss Smith become allergic to roses?" Lucas gave her a meaningful look.

Haley dumbfounded. All of a sudden, she recalled that some time ago. After she admitted her identity, Lucas naturally introduced her to Lisa and his relationship with Lisa.

Lucas Michaelson-Today the Marquis of Michaelson is his uncle and Lisa is the daughter of the Marquis of Michaelson.

"Lucas's parents also died in the accident." After confirming the identity of the other party, Lisa added before Haley expressed her doubt.

According to the description of the two and the information handed over by Lisa, Haley realized that what she knew was just the tip of the iceberg. The massacre at that time was not only as simple as the enemy's hatred but also involved the struggle of all the forces in the kingdom.

"What do you want me to do?" Haley asked.

"Don't worry. Be honest. What can you do now?" Lucas seemed to be very generous. "Harriet, we have a lot of time, miss Haley Smith,"

Haley asked Vivian to water the roses and sat idly opposite Lucas. Even after so long, she still felt that life was so simple and unreal.

"Cherish your last happy time." Lucas put down the cup and threw a golden edge letter with roses in her arms. "I've discussed it with your father. It's not good to stay at home all the time. After the summer vacation, you can go to home-school classes with Lisa at Michaelson House."

Haley opened the letter and found that it was a letter of signature from the tutor of Michaelson's house. She took a closer look at the lesson. Literature, painting, piano, swordplay

"I think I should work out in the military camp." Haley closed the letter with all her strength. Her face was expressionless and her heart was surging. Each of these courses was a headache for her.

"Don't worry. You should learn what you should learn first. Children can't be in a hurry."

Lucas smiled evilly, but in fact, this was not the decision he could make. Haley's current father, George, didn't want her to enter the military camp so early.

"Haley is still young. She hasn't recovered yet. It's not a peaceful time now. How can she move around with us?" George' said that he only had one daughter. He would rather send her to a school than let her fight and kill in the military camp. She could go to the military camp later.

Haley wanted to retort. But Lucas stopped.

Lucas got close to Haley and whispered, "The Smith family hasn't received any award yet. It's too difficult to achieve our goal in this identity."

Lucas didn't finish his words, and Haley also realized that the Hitlery Kingdom attached great importance to the identity of lordship. Even if she entered the military camp now, without the support of a noble family, it was difficult for her to be awarded, and it was difficult to achieve her real goal.

And it would be much easier for her to rely on the Michaelson family.

The two of them wanted to say something more. After a short while, George's rough and loud voice came in.

"Haley, my dear daughter!" George got off the horse and held Haley in his arms.

"Father...Dad..." Haley felt the pressure from George. She was not used to this kind of straightforward love.

"Lucas, why don't you stay and have dinner with us tonight?" George pointed at the red meat hanging on the back of the horse and said, "I'm practicing today. It's rare to hunt for a deer."

"Okay, uncle George." Lucas took the deer off the horse skillfully. "Then I'll go to the kitchen first."

"Okay." George handed the rope to Vivian and picked up Haley. Although Haley was ten years old, she was as weak as a child of seven or eight years old.

Lying in George's arms, Haley suddenly frowned. There was a faint smell of blood on his body.

"Are you hurt?" Asked Haley.

"It's just a minor injury. no one who fights in a war is ever injured," George said casually. When they arrived in the living room, George put down Haley and hugged her deeply. "Dad's going to take a shower first. You can play with Lucas for a while."

"The second and fifth columns are training in the suburb of the wheat city today." When Lucas walked out of the kitchen, he saw the worried look on Haley's face. He patted her on the head and said, "Today, the leader of the fifth column is John from the family of Burritt."

A surge of anger rises in Haley's heart at the sound of the Burritt. She knew what happened in the military camp best. A commander without a background would always be tripped up by something relying on his family background. She had suffered a lot in this kind of thing before.

"Who the hell can be the commander?" She patted Lucas's hand and pinched him hard.

"It's none of my business. Don't vent your anger on a good person." Lucas hissed in pain, but he could do nothing.

Every time George came back home, she would personally cook for Haley. This time, when Haley knew that George was injured, she decided to cook by herself. After telling Vivian to go upstairs to stall for George, Haley went to the kitchen. Of course, she also took Lucas as a hard worker.

"Cut it into three pieces, pickled with salt and pepper."

"Bring me some eggs and rosemary."

"Keep the fire down. The bread will be burnt later."

Haley ordered Lucas while mixing the ingredients. Although Lucas had suffered a lot, he did what she asked him to do meticulously.

Looking at the finished product, Lucas couldn't help admiring, "I've been in the military camp for so long, but I didn't know you could still make these things."

"In the past, Chris often got sick. After that incident, he was afraid that someone would do something to his food. Before he went back to the courtyard for recuperation, he would slowly follow the recipes and probably make some..." thinking that her brother had betrayed her, Haley could not help feeling cold in her heart.

"I have warned you that it is better to secure to control power than anything else." Lucas sneered, "If you give up your "good brother" and go with me to investigate what happened in the past, now some people are going to die."

"At that time, I didn't know that your parents were Michaelson." there was no surname in the brands of the military camp, and even their names didn't have to be real.

"If I had told you these things, you wouldn't have been the only one who couldn't live." Lucas opened the window and let the smell in the kitchen dissipate.

Haley was speechless. Lucas had a good relationship with her back then. After knowing her identity, he had told her many times not to cling to Chris, but she felt that he was her only family member. She should put him first, and finally, they broke up in discord.

The two of them brought the food to the dining room. When they heard that George and Vivian were arguing, their faces turned red.

"Master, your underwear is wet. Change another one." Vivian blocked the door with another clean underwear.

"I've told you that I can do it in this way. The underwear will be dry soon!" The men who were over forty years old were so anxious at the door that he could not say a word to Vivian. They could only shake their hands and walk back and forth.

"Dad, dinner is ready." Haley stood by the stairs and shouted, "If your underwear is wet, just listen to Vivian and change it carefully. Don't make trouble for others."

George had no choice but to do as her daughter said.

After George changed her clothes and went downstairs, she smelled the delicious food. When she walked into the dining room, he saw Haley clumsily decorating the dining room. His heart was full of mixed feelings. After three years, home finally smells like home.

"Dad, come and eat." Seeing George come in, Haley quickly put down the tableware in her hands. In Haley's body, the feeling of blood connection still made her feel rely on George.

After dinner, after sending Lucas away, George looked at Haley who was squatting by the wall and looking at the roses worriedly.

"Haley, what kind of person do you think Lucas is?"

"He's a good man," Haley replied with an innocent look in her eyes. "Is there anything wrong with him?"

"Nothing. You should get along well with each other." George laughed. "Let's go back to our room. It's cold."

Haley held George's hand. Last time she couldn't protect her father, but this time, she would never let that happen again.

Of course, she didn't expect that what George was worried about was not whether Lucas was good or bad, but what if her daughter grew up and ran away with Lucas.

Fathers always had a lot on their minds.
