CHAPTER 48

  Smith Bridget POV

I wanted to talk but the words just got stuck in my throat. I don’t know how it will sound. How do I tell him that his Luna is actually scared of a little thing like thunder and lightning too.

“It’s nothing,” I answered. My voice coming out a little bit quieter than I wanted it to be so he won’t easily notice that something is amiss.

He narrowed his eyes at me and tried to ask me again, “Are you sure you are okay? What is going on Sandra? You looked petrified when I came in. We’re you scared of something? Did any rat escape into this room?”

I forced a smile and told him, “Stop panicking so much. I am fine.” He smiled and finally put the tray I never noticed he brought in. He placed it on the bed and the delicious aroma of hot pancakes wafted into my nose.

My nose perked up as I stared at the pancakes happily. Nothing is better than having one of my favourite foods after narrowly escaping from a near heart attach.
