CHAPTER 35: His Illness

  Ezra’s Point Of View.

MY HEART jumped and woke me up when I felt someone stroking my hair while humming. At first, I thought I was only drowning in a thorough slumber and dreaming, but my eyes immediately enlarged when I saw Raiko lying beside me. I got up as fast as lightning and took five steps back.

“W-What are you doing here?!” I asked with mixed emotions; shock, dread, and panic.

“Your Mom called me. She said you wanted to talk to me,” he replied with a pleasant smile.

I stumbled when I remembered the conversation my mother and I had yesterday, though I didn’t tell him to come early and go inside my room without permission to watch over me until I woke up.

His creepiness brought goosebumps to my spine. But despite the tingling fear swallowing me, I managed to clear my throat and turned to him in the nicest way possible. I have to put him in the good mood for him to go along with me. I have to bring him to Ms. Cruz today at all costs.
