CHAPTER 36

  When we got there, I was stunned when Raiko held my hand. I didn’t like it but I had to not reveal my plan so I maintained my poker face and let him do everything to his liking.

  We went inside the restaurant and I immediately saw my godmother sitting at the farthest table while she’s looking around. She smiled and waved at me but she was shocked to recognize who was with me.

  Oh, yes, I mentioned to her once that Raiko is the one Mom wants to be her son-in-law. Maybe she couldn’t believe that the friend I was talking about yesterday was the guy whom I’ll soon marry.

  We headed straight to her table and before we sat down, Raiko stopped for a moment and turned to me. He seemed confused.

  “I thought we’re having a date?” he whispered.

  “Yes, I know.”

  “Then, why are we with Mrs. Cruz? She’s a psychologist, right?”
