CHAPTER 37: Plan

  Ezra’s Point Of View.

UNTIL NOW, I still can’t seem to believe what I found out. I’m having difficulty processing the information I discovered about Raiko’s illness. Because of it, I don’t want to marry him even more.

After the day Raiko and I talked with Mrs. Cruz, Mommy never let me out again. She’s keen on my every move, especially the wedding day is around the corner. She may be thinking I’m going to run away again. As if I could do it if the guards were surrounding me.

The click of the door opening snapped me out of my musing. I sat up straight from lying down and stretched my arms.

“Ma’am, you’re supposed to eat,” one of the maids spoke as she approached me, carrying a whole tray of breakfast. She placed the food on the table next to me.

“I don’t want to eat,” I firmly refused.

  “But, ma’am–”

“No more but’s, nanny. I really don’t want to eat. I’m also not hungry or anything, so you’re free to leave. You may go now.”
