CHAPTER 39: Canceled

  Ezra’s Point Of View.

MY EYES were shut and nostrils flared in annoyance and regret. I started biting nails as a habit of mine whenever I’m in distress. I walked back and forth the room, placing a hand on my waist while the other rested on my forehead.

I expected I would be able to convince Mom to withdraw from the marriage deal with the Tan’s after everything I disclosed to her, including the abuses and manipulations Raiko has done to me but I was wrong. She continued it and there seems to be no way for her to change her mind, even Dad.

I smiled bitterly and scowled at the window pane, witnessing the entrancing view outside and the beauty of nature, yet it wasn’t enough to make me smile.

Today is my birthday, which also means I’m getting married today and I never wanted the idea of it. Only by ruminating about being tied to Raiko’s trap forever causes me to puke.
