More photographers and journalists show up backstage after the show is over. I get to work with the choreography that is navigating between models and fashion reporters for big name magazines. Debby takes photos as I speak with the journalists and the models, and our eyes never meet, although I'm sure she looks at me when I'm not looking at her.
Someone starts to scream and I sprint to the changing area down the hall. A model is yelling at Peter, a young new assistant designer. When the model sees me, she jumps at me and grabs hold of me.
"You!" she screams. "Peter, this is the one! She handed me a new dress, and I was still wearing my earrings, and now they're gone!"
My eyes widen at the model. "Are you accusing me of stealing?"
Peter walks up to me and holds out a hand. "Give them to me."
I look at Peter with a slight smile. "Oh, sweetheart. Do you know who you're talking to?"
