Chapter 30

Vincent laughs and shrugs. "Why? Do you know anyone who's available? Any pretty friends?"

"What's your type?" I ask as I bring a fork full of crepe into my mouth.

"You're my type." He sips at his coffee.

"Ah, well, unfortunately I'm spoken for."

"Do we have to talk about this?" he asks.

I was under the impression that we were just playing around, so when he says this I frown and say, "What do you want to talk about?"

"I don't know…" He works on eating his crepes.

"Sterling told me you were popular in college," I say around a mouthful. "Did you date anyone there?"

"Did Sterling really tell you so much about me?" Vincent looks up from his plate and stares into my eyes. "Did he tell you how dangerous I am?"

I frown and wonder if I should be terrified, but he laughs.

"Relax, I'm kidding."

We finish our crepes and coffee in silence, and when our plates are empty Vincent grabs the dishes and walks them into the kitchen to rinse them in the sink.
