Meguro smirked and said. "Even if they are on a level higher than us, they won't be able to mess with us that easily.
Even if they somehow wage all-out war against us and win, we can always start anew in a different country.
After all we weren't solely focused on Japan."
Kakine nodded and said. "That is true, but an all-out war would be impossible.
The authorities will surely intervene since heavy artillery will be used.
And when they do intervene, we're as good as done here in Japan since the US government will do everything to get rid of us."
Meguro had the same smirk on his face and he said. "Of course I know that, that's why we have to do our best to form a good connection with the Hundred Devouring Families."
The look in Kakine's eyes was the same chilling one as before and he said with a stoic expression while pushing his glasses up his face with his finger. "The special guest who'll come is from the Jabami family.
Even though they don't have that much power anymore they still are a branch family, so we have to please them first in order to establish a connection with the Hundred Devouring Families.
And it's said that the current head is a high-school girl that's mad about gambling, a compulsive gambler if you may."
Meguro drank more of his tea and he said with a stoic expression too. "I've done my research about her too with some of the people that are in Hyakkaou Private Academy.
She doesn't seem to have any particular goal whatsoever, she just gambles any chance she gets."
Kakine took his coffee cup too and said after drinking. "Talking about that school.
Aren't you supposed to be in your third year there?"
Meguro smirked and said. "I am, but I didn't go to school since the year started.
I just don't like being surrounded by the crazy people there."
Kakine's cheek twitched a little and a bead of sweat went down his forehead.
'He's still the same as ever.
He calls others crazy while he himself is the most twisted of them all.'
Kakine still remembers a 16 year old Meguro who made a demonstration out of some rats within their family.
First he had them tied up and beat them with a stick, bruising and tearing their skin apart, while doing no real damage whatsoever.
After that, he gave them hope by saying they'll let them and their families live if they beat him in a hand-to-hand fight.
The rats were all adults with fighting experience that could bring normal adults to their knees easily.
But he just beat them all at once without being hit even once.
Keep in mind that there were 5 of them in total.
After beating them half-to-death, he showed them pictures of the corpses of their already dead family.
Bringing one into despair, giving them hope, just to crush it and plunge them even deeper into despair.
Truly something only a madman would do.
That was the day when a lot of people within the family realized that Meguro wasn't a normal human at all.
Insane strength, an intimidating air that can appear whenever he wishes and the ruthlessness to give hell to your enemies.
Kakine closed his eyes and finished his coffee. 'That's the reason why he's so respected and the order within the family is so well-kept.
Because of the fear of becoming his enemy.'
He opened his eyes and thought while putting the cup down. 'But that doesn't scare people like me.'
The look in Kakine's eyes became even more blank for a moment.
There are some people that have surpassed normal humans greatly in some aspects.
And the number of people that don't get scared by Meguro's intimidation tactics isn't that little.
People that have been through war and have strengthened their mentality so much so that not even death scares them anymore.
People that grew up to feel no fear.
People who gave up on life altogether.
Or monsters in the same category with Meguro or even crazier people.
There are more types of people that won't feel intimidated by Meguro at all. But those people are one in 10 million or even less.
Kakine was someone who has been to multiple warzones and even survived two gunshots to the head from a very well-known mercenary.
He's seen way worse things happen to other human beings than what Meguro did to those rats.
Kakine looked at Meguro who was smirking from behind his glasses and thought. 'He never spoke of what happened in that academy to any of the other executives even though it's known to be a place where the most powerful kids in the country are.
And the other kids at the academy don't speak about him either.
He's probably done something there.'
He certainly has.
It's just that he doesn't feel like disclosing every bit of information in his life.
After continuing to talk about more things with Kaine while eating, the waiter came and told him that his daughter fell asleep in the play zone.
After exchanging goodbyes, Meguro was left alone in the restaurant with the two waiters that were standing at the door.
As he got up and left the money on the table, he went towards the door and stopped before walking out.
He looked at the door while speaking to the two waiters that were behind him.
"You know, I thought something was weird before when I saw the two of you.
Why do you guys, the waiters, have guns inside the third foor?
When it's explicitly stated that no one can have guns here."
He turned his head just a little and saw that both of the waiters had emotionless looks on their faces.
Both of them had a handgun pointed towards him.
Before any one of them could state their reasons or missions, Meguro had a smirk on his face and a foot already under one's chin.
*BAM* *BAM*
He hit the first one in the chin with his foot at insane speeds and put his foot back in place seemingly in an instant, and then punched the other guy in the stomach at the same speed that couldn't even be perceived by the human eye.
Both of them were lifted off the ground with blood coming out of their noses/mouths.
There were multiple assassination attempts on his life in the past, so he didn't even bother listening to their bullshit.
He took his phone out of his pocked and dialed a number while stomping one guy on the head with his foot. "What's the occasion for your call, Meguro-san?"
Meguro had the same smirk on his face and he said. "I need some cleaning at our most precious restaurant.
Some rats managed to come in and they tried to kill me.
I've had a long day so I don't feel like making an example out of them.
Make sure to do it yourself though."
The person behind the phone laughed a little and said. "Understood."
The look on Meguro's face turned emotionless and he said. "I'm not laughing.
If you guys can't get to the bottom of this and more people keep coming after me you're the first people I'm going to make an example out of.
Do your job properly."
He ended the call with the executive in charge of the cleaning up team.
The cleaning business is big enough for it to have their own group and their head to become an executive.
But Meguro was already starting to become sick of this, and he didn't feel like torturing these guys himself.
He left the place with a stoic expression on his face since he really was tired and wanted to go to sleep.
And when he arrived home that's what he did.
