Chapter 6

Meguro was dressed in a black zip-up sweatshirt that had a white heart on the back and some black pants from chrome hearts that had white crosses all over the front.

And as for shoes, he had black loafers.

His hair was styled forward just barely going over his eyes.

A few days passed and he was inside the control room in his family's newly opened casino.

It was the usual hotel casino.

A luxurious hotel with over 20 floors and the first few floors being dedicated to gambling.

Meguro was playing with the phone he had in his hand while leaning back on the chair that was facing a lot of monitors that shoed every inch of the casino.

He's supposed to get a phone call when the special guest arrives so he was patiently waiting for them to show up so he can greet them.

He put his phone on the desk in front of him and took out a bag of lollipops from his sweatshirt pocket.

He took out a red lollipop and put it in his mouth while saying. "Did you guys make sure to take out the tricks from the games?

She has a reputation for being merciless on cheaters."

Someone dressed in a suit that was standing with his hands behind his back stepped forward once and said. "We did.

Today every game is legit and not one of them is rigged."

Meguro started spinning around in his chair slowly while thinking of the information he received on the girl that's about to visit.

'She's said to win every gamble she takes and even if she somehow loses, she doesn't seem to care about it at all.

She's difficult to read since I don't even know what her goals are.

But thinking too much about it is useless since I'll just have to see when I meet her face-to-face.'

As he was spinning, he caught a look of a girl with long black hair that entered the casino wearing some kind of red school uniform.

Meguro's eyes widened and he stopped spinning, got up and looked at where she was.

He took his phone from the desk and left while saying. "I'm going there alone, don't act without my command."

>>>>

Yumeko Jabami, the special guest, was looking around with bright eyes while standing near the entrance.

Coming towards her from the side was a young man with white hair, he was naturally Meguro.

She noticed him and when he arrived near her she said with. "Are you from the Yamashita family?"

Meguro took out the lollipop he had in his mouth and said with a smirk. "Yes, and you're from the Jabami family, correct?

My name is Meguro by the way."

She smiled and said. "My name is Yumeko.

Nice to meet you Meguro-san."

He put the lollipop back in his mouth and said. "I've heard a lot about you, seems like you're causing a lot of trouble at Hyakkaou."

She looked at him with a surprised expression and said. "You're a student there?"

Meguro smirked and said. "I am, but I don't go to that school anymore since there's no need to.

I'm already in my third year so all I have to do is wait and take the exam."

She looked confused so she asked. "How are you going to graduate if you don't go to school though?"

Meguro's smirk became bigger and he said. "Don't tell me you actually believe that a single person in that school learns.

As long as you're not a housepet you can lay back and relax the whole time."

Housepets in that school are basically students who have lost their rights as humans at school until they get rid of that status.

They even have their whole life planned out for them if they don't get rid of that status.

A truly wicked system made by the student council president.

Yumeko nodded and said. "You're kind of right in that sense.

But I just can't seem to understand."

Meguro looked at her and asked. "What?"

"If you're going to be my guide here, that means you have some idea about gambling.

And since gambling is the school's main focus, wouldn't you want to go to school?"

Meguro looked at her as if she was serious with what she said.

He sighed and said. "Hah, not really.

I do like gambling to some extent but that school is very annoying to me.

I'd rather do work for the family than gamble."

She looked like she got the hang of it. "I understand, people have different priorities after all."

Meguro decided to change the subject so he said. "Where do you want to gamble by the way?

We have almost everything in here, I'm talking about the standard games not the complicated ones that the academy has."

She though about it and said. "Hmm...

What do you recommend Meguro-san?"

Meguro looked around and said. "Blackjack, since it's one of my favorite games."

She smiled and said. "Alright!

I enjoy blackjack too!"

Meguro decided to play too so he was standing at the table together with Yumeko and the dealer.

The dealer started explaining.

"Here in our casino, we have chips that are worth from 5.000 yen to 10 million yen.

So you can gamble away with big amounts of money freely since we can make it happen.

Blackjack here at this table can be played with double-downs and splits.

Now, how much would you like to bet?"

Yumeko looked like she was thinking about it until she said. "Let's go with 10 million yen."

The dealer turned to Meguro with no change in his expression and asked the same thing. "I'll go with the same amount of money."

The dealer nodded and said. "Since you don't have chips with you, we'll put the bets on your name so you can exchange them later.

I'll write the bets on this piece of paper."

After doing so, he gave the first cards to everybody including himself face up and then the second cards the same with the exception being himself, he had only one card face-up.

Meguro looked at his hand and thought with his ever-present smirk apparent on his face. 'A queen and a king.

So 20.

I'll just stand.'

Meguro looked at the Yumeko's cards and thought. 'She has a 10 and a queen, so a 20 too.'

The dealer's only visible card was an ace.

The dealer looked at Yumeko and asked. "What will you do?"

She smiled and said. "Hit."

Meguro was surprised internally but his expression didn't change on the outside.

The dealer handed her a card and it was revealed to be a ace.

'21, she won.'

When it came to Meguro, he waved his hand signaling he'll stand.

The dealer revealed his hand of a king and an ace, meaning he had blackjack and the dealer won.

Meguro lost his money while Yumeko tied against the dealer.

Meguro's expression didn't change and he said. "That's unlucky."
