I easily won the drinking competition, I mean, there was no way that I would have lost anyways.

Carrying a asleep Nina up to our room in my arms, I was, well, Nina was stared at by revolting gazes that made me already know what was going to happen.

Gently placing her on her bed, I just sat up straight on my own bed, as I waited for the event to occur.

An event that would solidify her trust in me.

...

Four Hours Later:

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

"Crash!"

As I door was broken open, I continued to sit there with my hands flat on my lap, the thugs confused about why I was still awake, and in such a creepy position.

But, it didn't really matter, as the next second, the ones in the front started dropping as I saw Nina's hands moving.

She was actually doing very good for a person that had just collapsed on the ground due to how drunk they were just a few hours ago, but I knew that she wouldn't be able to take care of all these men, and not in a way that wouldn't leak information about our presence to the drüskelle.

So, I used my "small sciences" as a heartrender to lengthen my fingernails into an edge sharper than the best knives made by the fabrikators.

Yep, this was definitely not because I was just exploiting my demonic body.

Anyways, I blurred through the thugs as Nina just watched on, as, they were all standing there or lying on the floor in one second, and then they were all lying on the floor with their throats slit the next second.

As for me, I was already sitting back on my bed that was next to hers, shortening my fingernails again as I let the blood slowly drip off.

Not even bothering to look at her shocked expression, just staring at my own fingernails as the moonlight beamed through the window and fell onto my body, illuminating it to her, I said,

"Go to sleep. I'll take care of the bodies and you can ask questions tomorrow."

She just nodded blankly as she slowly lowered herself into a sleeping position as if she was a robot, before closing her eyes and relaxing her face.

I waited until she was fully asleep before looking at the bodies and preparing my stomach for a very disgusting snack.

After all, I couldn't risk us getting caught be the Drüskelle, it would damage my plans too much.

We would have to be caught specifically when they were about to leave the Wandering Isle, that was the only moment where I could keep most of the rest of the story unchanged.

You see, this time, in this story, I would strive to keep the original story, but, I would be pulling the strings, playing with the main characters from the shadows.

After all, this was a story set in Ketterdam, the biggest den of drugs and thieves that one could possible find in the multiverse.

So, without the protagonists' luck, I would just be a sitting duck waiting to be destroyed in this world.

That was why my plan of action would be the safest one possible, after all, my objective was different this time, in this world.

[Task:

Option 1: Kill "Zoya Nazyalensky"

Option 2: Destroy the secret of "Jurda Parem"

Option 3: Sink Ketterdam

Once one of these options are met, the task will be deemed complete, and the user will be transported to the next world.

Good Luck!]

All of this just confirmed my beliefs as I started eating the bodies, trying not to throw up.

And, as I finished and finally got into my bed, falling asleep, I continued to ruminate over the plans in my mind, finally deciding on a single one.

This eased my mind as I finally fell asleep.

...

"Is there something wrong?" I asked, my eyes still closed, as I felt Nina heavily studying every inch of my body as soon as I woke up.

Who knew how long she had been doing that?

Flinching after suddenly hearing my voice, my body having given no notification of my now, "awake" status, she hurriedly looked away.

"W-where did the bodies go?"

"Is the famous Nina Zenik really supposed to be flustered after being caught checking a dude out?" I asked, in a playful tone.

"I-I w-wasn't..."

"Sureeeeeee."

"Meanie!" She yelled, before full on punching me for a few seconds, before he face got serious again.

"Sigh, I just destroyed them fully. You don't have to worry about them being found."

Hearing this, she just stared at my face, closely studying it for a lie with her small sciences, before going on to ask another question.

"Why did you kill them?"

"Because in your half drunken state, you used the small sciences on them, and, didn't you hear that there was a Drüskelle unit in town?"

"But! Wasn't there any other way?"

"No, there isn't, and there never was. You get used to death after a while, trust me."

"I know, I've seen things worse than death... but it's the first time I've indirectly murdered someone..."

"Then cry, or do whatever you need to do, just know that, like I said before, don't go poking around in my business, and I won't poke around in yours."

Leaving those as my last words, I left my room and got back to our jobs, as I waited for Nina to get herself together and follow.

After all, if she couldn't handle just this little amount of murder, then would she be able to get me to where I needed to be later on?

I started making some new plans with the aim to fix Nina's mindset before smiling faintly as I watched her come out of the room in under a minute, having fixed her hair and gotten into presentable clothes so quickly whilst also dealing with the shock of death, I was honestly impressed.

"Let's go."

Hearing this, she just nodded, and so we spent another day spying and trying to figure out the locations of other grisha on the Wandering Isle, all the while, the threat of a Drüskelle fleet looming on all our minds.

This would be fun.
