Croc meets Rabbit.(going back to US.)

BACK AT DAGORETTI A fat man sat in a comfy chair talking with his son, Jake. It had been an year since they last met each other so this day was a family union but someone was not in the house.

Katumo called out for his wife as he asked her where his daughter was. "Didn't you tell her Jake would be here this afternoon?"

"I already told her this morning. But she hid again." Mrs. Katumo complained. "Ever since that day, she has been weird, I wonder why?"

After Mae had been attacked, betrayed and almost killed again at Josika, she had changed completely. She would avoid her father for no reason and leave to her room where she would lock herself all night. They had employed a new maid for her but the bond she had with her previous maid, Annie had never broke. Mrs. Katumo always doubted her husband, she knew he had something to do with Mae, but just couldn't figure it out exactly. She knew she would get hurt if she dared expose her feeling of mistrust to him.

"Mom, please tell me what has been going on." Jake asks his mother. He had asked his father but he knew his father gave lies all along like a story.

With a glance at her husband who just sat earthly ignoring what she might say, Mrs. Katumo unfolded all she knew. Anger written all over her face as she cursed Erick, who had dared kill her daughter even after an attempted rape earlier.

"If not for that old retired FBI, our daughter would be dead this moment." She held back her tears as she turned to face her husband.

"Why don't you give up on politics.? Move out of here and live an ordinary life." She begged but Mr. Katumo just ignored her. He knew all that had happened to his daughter. He was the one who was most stressed among them, since he even had to collaborate with the person who dared rape his daughter. He felt anger building up in his heart as he drew his fingers into a fist.

"Honey. I beg you infront of your son. Please step down as the Governor and follow us back to US. We have enough money to start a business or investment, please." Mrs. Katumo continued her pledge. She had been irritating him now for more than a month. One more of this and Katumo might explode from anger. It was good Mae had never told anyone about what exactly happened at Josika, or else he would be dead meat on a spade.

"Dad. I have studied hard enough. Ive now graduated and thanks to your support and advice. I'm now a pending judistiary at the International Criminal Court." The news should have brought joy to his dad but instead he tensed before smiling. "Congratulations my son." He clapped his hands as he saw his wife hug Jake congratulating him too.

"At least my son can help me out in case anything does out of plan." Mr. Katumo believed. Of course he didn't speak that out for anyone to hear.

"Dad. I'm not happy with the way you rule Angel City." Jake spoiled his father's trust in him with those words. He went along to reveal that he already knew what has been going on ever since.

"And what do you mean by saying you not happy." Katumo stared at his son not blinking at all, pulling over an aura of authority, superiority and rule over him.

"With all due politeness dad. When I came here yesterday I have got lot of news from even the Net. Miami restaurant, blocks away from here had been attacked once, and Mae was in that building at that time. The D.P owns the restaurant and it seemed like a political war from a perspective. There has been reports of human trafficking going on in the city too. It's believed the centre of operation is within Angel city. Dad you have not checked these out. Girls around the age of 18-26 are being kidnapped and sold off as sex tools...dad...I feel insecure living here, I pity Mae, she's not even picking my phone call!"

Jake yelled the last part not at all feeling any pressure from his father's aura.

"Who told you am not ruling well. I advised you to major Politics and join me but instead you choose of your choice! Now answer me, what should I do?!" Katumo asked with an authoritive voice. The whole warm hearted home coming welcome now dipped in shit. "You came here just yesterday and you correcting me, not even the president has dared!" Katumo feared his son would investigate these cases and in the end have him boiled alive in a pot.

"Honey,,,please relax. He was not correcting your position, just understand him. He is a lawyer. All lawyer react like this." Mrs. Katumo tried to cool his temper down with a smile as she praised her son.

"I don't want to know anything of which you have learnt,I will tighten the security in Angel city as I deploy an Inspector for the task." The Governor said with sincerity.

"Dad, I know a friend of mine from long ago. He is an Inspector at the Capital, he was once a detective too." Jake suddenly pointed out a person of his choice for the work.

"You don't need to get involved with my matters, I know alot of men, intelligent as well as smart." Katumo said back before realizing he was being rude abit. "Or whom is it that you think of so highly?"

"His name was Joe Ken. I trust that man dad." Jake said with confidence.

"Joe Ken, hmm I know that man. But I don't think he is the right person."

Katumo knew Joe Ken well. He was the man poking a hole in his ass. Every single move he made, his men would report back that an Inspector was aware. He had traced this inspector and realized it was Joe. Thanks to Jane his junior, a detective posted at Dagoretti.

"Have you called Mae again?" Katumo suddenly changed the topic. They had argued for more than two hours forgetting Mae.

As Mrs. Katumo was about to make a phone call, a guard came in and whispered into the Governors ears before leaving again just as he had arrived.

"Berick!" Katumo called out. He had supervised Berick to watch over his daughter, monitoring every move she made, and investigating any person whom she would meet in public or not.

"Yes sir!" Berick who had been alerted arrived sooner.

"Why are you back early? Without my daughter!" Katumo raged. The guard had just informed him of the arrival of Berick, without Mae.

"Sir, I came back immediately before she arrives. I've not failed you." Berick said his hands behind his back.

"Where is she?" Katumo asked.

"She's probably a five minute drive away." Berick answered.

Katumo now was on his two as he walked out of the room. "Wait for Mae here Jake. I have some issue to fix before she arrives." Katumo left not even waiting for a reply from anyone as Berick followed behind as supposed. They walked into a room before Katumo turned back and asked. "Did she say anything important?"

Berick hesitated for a while. He didn't want to bring out the part he saw of the young miss and Bryan. "No she didn't. She went to visit Old miss Gindi. I couldn't get into the compound, the old lady has employed security."

"That's interesting. Anything new?" Katumo asked further.

"Sire, I noticed a car followed Mae too. When she left to come back to the city, the car turned back to the highlands and followed Abi who too has been visiting the old lady."

"Have you any idea who is spying on my daughter?" Katumo asked as fear prickled him.

"Yes, It's the local Detective Jane."

"Fuck! What is she up to!" Katumo cursed as he made a call to a somebody immediately.

He couldn't connect what might be brewing up. He had to know earlier to stop the ignition.

Abi and his daughter! He couldn't wish Mae to know that he did cheated her mother by having fun with a girl the age of his children.

Thanks to Berick he didn't mention any Bryan or else Bryan would be under attack again, this time for spoiling the Governor's apple.

Back in the living room Jake waited patiently as his mother made a call to Mae.

"Where are you sweetie?" She asked worriedly.

"Ok, hurry up. Jake is here waiting for you." She hung up as she smiled. "Your sister is in the courtyard."

The joy overwhelmed Jake as he rushed out to meet her as she stepped into the hallway.

"Mae!"

"Jake!"

They screamed as they ran and clasped each other in a hug. They were only two, brother and sister and they loved each other.

"How is US?" Mae asked at the back of her brothers head as he answered, "All's been fine. I missed you soo much rabbit."

"Haha I missed you too croc." Mae laughed as she remembered their childhood names.

"Hello Mae!" Their mother added herself hugging them both in her wide arms.

"Let's have dinner. There is alot to talk about." She said as the all walked to the dining hall. The Governor had a real Mansion, build just at the very centre of Angel city, like a castle.

"Where is dad?" Jake asked as his seat was yet occupied.

"He is coming soon, just a phone talk." They ignored him as Jake turned over to Mae and leaked the great news earlier, "We are going to US tomorrow!"

"Whaaat!" Mae freaked out. She had not expected this. Not after she had found her love.
