End of a dynast.

Everything turned chaotic suddenly. The Governor's home, which had more guards than normal, flashed with red lights. Someone had pressed the alarm.

Mae stood not making any move as Jane pressed the gun on her back. She saw her father rushing towards her, knocking chairs off the ground to make way. "Dad!" She screamed as Jane pushed her forward making an escape. No gun fire had been released till now.

"Jane!" Joe shouted as he lost aim having to grab Mae who tripped falling onto him. The Governor was beside him at that moment as he pulled Mae into his arms giving her off to a guard.

"Take her out of here!" Katumo shouted over the screams and noise in his home. Most of the guests had long left, but the remainder was still a number to behold.

Katumo looked into Joe's face as he thanked him.

"Thanks Inspector," Joe patted him nodding his head as he ran behind the guards pursuing Mae.

Katumo couldn't stop thinking of his family, Jake and his wife were no where to be seen. He tried reaching out to his son via phone call but after several attempts it failed, now he tried his wife's. It went through!

"What is the problem!" Mrs Katumo's terrified voice rang through.

"Where are you!" Katumo asked instead.

"I'm in the front yard, everyone is running out!" Katumo thought twice before telling her not to run out too but hide somewhere in the courtyard.

Her connection got lost as Katumo ran towards the front yard with four of his home guards.

He knew Mae was safe for now. His eyes searched the yard all over. The place was deserted. They began the search instantly after realising there was no other place Mrs. Katumo could have hid.

The Governor dreaded over his thoughts, he made another call to his wife and she picked it up again. His mind relaxed for a second as he asked where she was. The reply took ages to come through.

"Honey, I'm standing right infront of you." Katumo looked ahead, but no one was there.

'Where?!" Katumo asked again with fear and anxiety. He didn't have to ask again as Mrs. Katumo revealed herself. What a good hide. She had hid herself well not even them could have sought her! But something was odd with her behaviour, rationaly, she should have ran to them, but she just stood at the same spot with tears.

"Honey, leave!" She started crying as the guards took position immediately. Something was amiss.

"Please honey." She begged but Katumo just walked slowly towards his wife.

His feeling was that of fear, but he felt brave too. He had to save his wife. She was innocent. He walked on closing the distance, now just ten steps away. "Honey, she will kill you!" Mrs. Katumo cried as Jane stepped out forth just behind his wife.

"Katumo, do you really want to save her?" Her voice was just normal. Was she a physchopath! She played around his wife's neck with the nozzle of the gun. "I'm enjoying this. Haha." She laughed off as Mrs. Katumo couldn't hold on any longer and weeped.

"How many more men have you got?" She asked as she clicked her fingers. The siren went off immediately. "We have only ten minutes before the patrol answers to your siren." She smiled. "Just enough time."

She was not in a hurry, she didn't even look like she feared anything. His guards circled him, moving in to trap the sordid detective.

Joe Ken was no where to be seen. Katumo didn't have time to think over it as he saw the bodies piled behind the wall, his men! Shot one by one not a single alive.

"Now, do you have the money?" Jane asked. Her fingers around Mrs. Katumo throat, I will count to three, "One...two..." She was serious about this, Katumo had to yell before she could finish.

"Ok. I will give you the money." He finally agreed. His guards moved closer to him, creating a formation to trap Jane.

"Hand the over the money!" Jane commanded.

"Let her go, and I will give you the money." Katumo proposed a deal.

"Ok. There she is!" Jane let go of Mrs. Katumo who fled immediately to her husband. Katumo laughed as he went back against the deal.

"I knew you can't be trusted." Jane said. She was confident in her escape plan. The guards surrounded her waiting for the order from their master.

"Kill her!" Katumo said with disgust as he took his wife back into the mansion.

"So foolish.!" Jane shouted as a guard pulled out a baton to beat her up.

"Dad!" Someone shouted from the gate just before a fight broke through.

"Dad! Mom!"

The person called out desperately stopping the Katumos from fleeing.

"Jake?" They both exclaimed as Jake came running in the courtyard still shouting out mom and dad.

*****

Bryan sat on his bed waiting a reply from Mae. He tried making a call but the connection kept getting lost.

He felt some thing was wrong. He read the last message she had sent, it didn't really make sense. 'Trbl come home Erick.' He couldn't decipher the meaning, he knew Erick, for a moment he thought she had sent the message to him by mistake as he wondered why she was calling Erick over. 'No!' He recalled Erick betraying him. She must have meant Erick is at their home and there is trouble.

Looking at the clock he saw it was really late, from his place to Angels City was around an hour and a half. "What I'm I going to do?" He wondered as he called his grandma waking her up showing and explaining everything to her.

"It's going to be ok." Miss Old Gindi said confidently as she put the telephone down.

"It's a good thing I stationed one of my men to live near that fool of a Governor."

Grandma smiled as she switched on the tv and as normal, she watched the Nation talk again, a review of what had been during the day.

"Don't underestimate my Men. They are the best there is." Grandma pinched his ears releasing the nervousness in him.

"Ouch nanny!" He yelled pulling off from her grip.

"I want some tea." She ordered as she tuned up the volume abit.

"Ok.let me get it." Bryan rushed into the kitchen checking if the thermos had any tea, and sure there was. Since grandma had come back into action, she had employed a maid apart from Yumaa to do cleaning as Yumaa took care of the ill Bryan.

"Welcome Nanny." Bryan said pouring the steamy tea into a cup.

"There is something I have to tell you." Old Gindi suddenly said. "I think is best I tell you."

"What is it Nanny." Bryan sat down impatiently waiting for the news.

"It's your parents."

"Oh. Grandma, you have told me about it for more than a hundred times. Haha," Bryan cut the story short but Grandma just smiled. "It's not a love story."

The room was silent for a while. Tonight Mrs. Yumaa had left to welcome her husband back home and the maid too lived at her place. Only the guards were present, but they were not stationed in the house unless when needed.

Bryan sat attentively as Old Miss Gindi composed her words.

"The relationship between you and the Governors daughter is fate. My husband was of the royal family too, so is Mae. You are the royal prince but after the fall of Gindi Dynasty, 100 years ago,we lost power. Your father had been the dynast till Katumo showed up."

Bryan didn't digest any information yet. He thought hard and hard. Some one had ever told him he is the prince, a royal. Was it a dream. His hand was on the back of his ear as he thought, trying to sail on the same boat as his grand mother.

"What is it you don't comprehend?" Old Miss Gindi asked. "Katumo is the man behind your parents asassianation!"

The news almost broke him in half. Then it did occur.

"Whats wrong Bryan! Bryan!" Old miss Gindi shook him hard as she tried to get him out of his illusions again. The doctor had warned them not to ever mention anything that may hurt his soul as no one knew what he did been hallucinating about, now Bryan was lost in thoughts again as his mind raced, he saw the old man in Mae's hand making him promise to stick to Mae.

"Nanny!" Bryan pulled himself out of the illusion just in time as he saw his grand mother panicked.

"Are you ok?" She asked as she held him by the shoulder.

"Yes am ok. Does this scar mean anything to you?" Bryan asked straightly as he just remembered.

"Its the Gindi Dynasty tatoo. You were supposed to be the heir of the throne, but that era is long gone, don't think about it much."

"I want to know Nanny." Bryan begged for the story to continue but a phone call disrupted them.

"Yes?" Miss old Gindi answered.

"All is under control, but we lost Miss Katumo." The voice came through audibly. Bryan felt his heart go cold as he understood what he meant.

"Miss Katumo is dead!"

Back at Dagoretti.

The Governor wept over the body of his wife as Jake laid in a pool of blood just next to him. All the guards were dead.

Sirens could be heard as police came to rescue, as always, right on time.
