Stalker

"What now. You got the photo. You just have to hit send and William is yours for the taking." Harper said at the other end of the line. I can picture her sitting on the bed cross-legged with her eyes glaring at her laptop screen, in her hotel room. She is in Miami for the influencer retreat with my credit card and I wouldn't be shocked if she has already smashed it out.

Before I could answer her, I had to duck to my right to avoid bumping into a man as I walk down the crowded street darting towards the direction of William's favorite coffee shop before I head over to the dance school for a job interview which I know I have already gotten the job. Brittany made sure of that.

"Hello? Addy are you there?" Harper's voice blares through the phone.

"Yes," I said.

"Did you hear what I said? You've gone mute"

"Yes, I heard what you said," I said lost in my thoughts.

"When are you going to send that photo to William?" She asked and I could feel the anticipation in her voice.

I took a breath. "I am not going to send that photo to William," I said unexpectedly, shocking myself.

"What!" Harper shrieked making me pull out my earbuds from my ears in fear of losing my eardrums.

I put them back on.

"Am I speaking to Addy? No, I am not sure. Do you have a high fever?" She asked in disbelief.

I half laughed. "No, it's me you are talking to, stupid"

"Have you had a change of heart Addy? Just when I am badly anticipating the drama of you getting your sister's wedding canceled and then you win the ultimate prize of fucking her man as well, you decide to pull up your moral pant on and chicken out" She snorts in disappointment.

"No, I didn't chicken out. I realized that William wouldn't want to have anything to do with me, the sister of the woman who cheated on him. So it better he doesn't see that photo"

"Hmm, you are right," She says comprehending my reasons.

"So we played spy kids for nothing?" Her disappointment was noticeable in her tone.

"No, that will be my last card. If, well things don't go as I plan. This photo will my last resort." After I make William fall in love with me. I am going to use the photo to hasten William's decision to leave Brittany for me. He will feel less guilty about dumping her if he finds out Brittany cheated on him.

"For the first time since you started raving about William, you sounded less delusional. At least you have come to terms with the possibility of your plan going down south. William might never fall in love with you. I am relief you know that"

A pang hit my chest. I pray it doesn't happen that way. William must fall in love with me. He has to. I know he will.

"You know what bitch. Fuck that love bullshit. Just fuck William and that Adrian dude as well, and have a threesome with these hot dudes. That will be the perfect revenge."

"What?" My jaw nearly dropped at the absurdity of what she just spit out but this Harper absurdity is what to describe.

"Nope, whore. I can't do that. It's only William I want to be with."

"Because you love him I get it." She snorted through the phone.

I felt a sheer feeling of irritation for her indifference when it comes to love.

"You will never understand what it feels like to be in love. Because you are so fucked up" my voice crest up. I could feel the crack of my irritation with Harper lace in my tone.

She laughed and I could hear the bitterness jagged within it. I wounded her with my words. "Yeah fucked up girls like me don't know love. Love and sex it the same thing. Good luck with your fucking love conquest."

"Fuck" I cursed undertone. Did I go too far calling her a fucked up?

Harper and I don't do the apologizing shit. We fight all the time. We throw insults at each other then we make up. Sometimes we give each other the silent treatment for weeks then we miss each other and start talking again.

"You can have my credit card for two months instead of one month" I offer out of guilt.

"No need, Addy I will drain your credit card before the end of this month." I could picture the gleam in her eyes.

A smile spread over my cheeks. I cut a breath out of relief. She called me Addy. That means she is not angry with me.

"Alright, it isn't my money is my parent's. You can do whatever you want with it" I shrugged.

She chuckled. "Such a spoilt brat"

I laughed. "Yeah, it's the reason why you love me."

"Right" she laughed.

"I got to go," I said when I realized I was at the door of the coffee shop.

Delicious smell of coffee wafted over my nose when I stepped in giving me a warm welcome.

This is nice.

My eyes jolted over my surroundings. The warm fuzzy feeling in my chest sparkled up seeing the interior of the coffee shop.

The interior is giving a vintage décor vibe with the floral wallpapers and a chandelier draping from the ceiling. Checkered tablecloths covered the tables that was Victorian-style chairs and couches Two huge shelves houses books and unique antiques, and flower pots was situated beside a vintage couch with pillows.

I get it why this place is William's favorite coffee shop. The interior vintage décor is emanating a romantic, charming atmosphere making me wonder if William is a hopeless romantic.

If he is that's a bonus. He is one in a million.

There was only one customer in. He was sitting close to the window seat with his back turn to me. And of course typically New Yorker. He was wearing suit and oh he is sporting a blonde hair too. Completing the stereotype.

"Sorry what did you say? I was talking to a friend. "Harper respond after a long silent

"I got to go," I repeated what I said earlier.

"Alright, same here, my new fish is almost here anyway. I am going out with him" Harper finally respond after a long silent from her end. She must had been busy

I shake my head. Big fish, her new sugar daddy she is fucking now.

"Wow, just less than 24 hours you have hooked another poor old dude"

She let out a wicked laugh "No break for a gold digger bitch like me. My nest is always cast out to catch the big fishes in the sea of money"

I crack out a small laugh shaking my head. "Have fun, don't suck him dry though."

"His wallet or his dick?" She says making my face flush.

I am not a prude but damn Harper's dirty words always make me turn red.

"Greedy bitch I am…."

Suddenly the man that was sitting with his back turned to me stood up and faced me. I was staring at blonde hair guy in a suit.

My eyes widened. "William" My heart beat pick at a fast race.

My breath froze in my lungs when he scurried past me. and head out of the coffee shop without noticing me, because he was also on the phone.

"Addy" Harper beseech for my attention but my eyes were fixed on door.

I walked to the door and pushed it opened and got out of the coffee shop.

I watched William's blonde hair as he walks further away from me.

"Addy?" Harper called again.

I ignored her and took steps in William's direction.

"Addy?" Harper called out once more.

"I will talk to you later" I hung up before she could give me a reply

I hasten up my steps as I snake through the sea of people to catch up with him.

My fast strides closed up the gap between us and I was a few paces behind him.

After a few minutes of trailing him, I realized what I am doing.

I am stalking him and I am oblivious to where he was going but I don't care. Anytime I see William my brain turns jelly and my sense of reason just evaporates.

He suddenly rubbed his neck and precipitously turned.

Fuck! He has sense he is being followed.

In an attempt to avoid him seeing me. I wheeled around bumping into a man who was walking behind me.

We both toppled to the ground.

"Sorry" the man apologize when he upheaval himself back to his feet and offered me a hand hauling me back to my feet.

"Thanks" I gave him my gratitude and shifted my focus back to William. He was at a far distance almost about to disappear from my sight.

I accelerated my strides when he crossed the road.

As I was about to cross to the other side of the road "Miss" The man I bump into called out to me and rushed over.

"Miss, your phone" He handed it over to me.

Must have fallen out of my hand when I tripped to the floor.

"Thanks" I dash into the street with no caution in panic, scared of losing sight of William.

I froze when I noticed a car rushing towards me with a monster speed. I flinched my eyes closed in fear. The end of my life flashed before my eyes. But the impact never came. The driver of the car hit the brake avoiding running over me.

I let out a sharp breath. I am still alive.

In the cause of the driver preventing hitting me, a car behind him crashed into his car damaging the back, causing havoc as both drivers step out of the car and got into an argument which caused traffic on the road. Their cars were blocking the road.

Other drivers join the chaos that was unfolding. They blow their horns out of frustration, they were being delayed from driving to their destination.

I crossed the street nonchalantly as if I wasn't responsible for the drama that was happening. I just don't care. My focus is on catching up with William I have lost sight of him.

My eyes scan through the crowded street until I saw a glimpse of William.

I resume stalking him. This time around I kept a distance to thwart him from noticing he is being followed.

I came to halt when I noticed I have followed him to the subway.

He walked into a train that was getting ready to set off.

I paused contemplating whether to follow him suit or not.

When I decided to have coffee at his favorite coffee shop today. It was out of curiosity to elicit out why William loves having coffee at that particular coffee shop.

I never thought I would bump into him considering the time of the day and his occupation. I thought he could be locked up at his office doing some paperwork or in a courtroom this late morning.

But it seems fate or whoever is in control of the universe keeps creating chances for us to meet because we are meant to be together.

And I am going to take advantage of the chance fate has given me.

So I walked into the train without thinking through, ditching my plans for the day without an ounce of care because nothing holds much importance in my life as William does.

Disappointment settled in my chest when I realized William has walked into a theater instead of his apartment like I anticipated when we both got out of the train.

I badly wished stalking him will result in me knowing his home address but it seems sometimes fate is not on my side.

What is he doing at the theater? I wondered.

I guess I have to find out. I walked in and I was welcomed with a piece of harmonious music being played by an orchestra on the stage.

A music theater?

The orchestra stopped playing when they noticed William's presence.

They got into a friendly conversation with William. I couldn't hear what they were discussing. I was far away from them standing behind the last row of the theater seats.

Suddenly a red hair woman took William's hand and pulled him away from the group of musicians to have a conversation with him.

A rage of jealousy burned my chest as I notice she was shamelessly flirting with him and he was laughing at whatever she was saying.

Who the hell is this bitch?
