The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Elrick sneered as he watched Cain attempt what appeared to be a sudden leap in rank through a deeper connection to an Astral Supremacy Star. To Elrick's mind, the younger cultivator was simply trying to posture—showing off a talent he might not truly possess.

"Hmph. Stupid brat," Elrick muttered under his breath, his tone dripping with scorn. "I'd like to see the backlash you'll suffer if you fail."

He knew that, theoretically, any cultivator on the Astral Rebirth Path could reach for a higher-ranking Astral Supremacy Star at any time. But if the attempt failed, the resulting backlash would be crippling—so severe that further attempts to connect to any high-level star in the near future would become all but impossible.
