On a quiet loop of country road in the middle of nowhere sits the town of Mannington, with it's one town sheriff and it's groves of trees, old cemetery and quiet countrified people.

Then one day when a lonely old woman is removed from her house by a corrupt minister something invades the town, something unseen, unstoppable with a hunger for people with dark secrets.

Guilty of terrible crimes himself, Sheriff Clyde grows more and more afraid as victims keep turning up.  Trying to keep his own secrets hidden while searching for answers, sheriff Dinkle lives in constant fear that it will come for him, like the others, not killed by human hands but by something that can be anywhere, something that can raise the dead, something lurking, waiting, and striking night and day, something that wont stop as long as there are people with dark secrets...…….something that lives....in the trees.

It Lives In The Trees

Kind of like when you see rain you don't have to look for clouds, Genny knew what was coming so she dressed in her usual high heels, a nice skirt, and updated her resume then arrived at work and sat down at her desk. Jerry was already there, sent to recon as soon as he walked in, without an ounce of surprise. He had been there two hours when the swaggering form of Ed walked in the front door and went to his office. Ed had his plans for the day and was about to act on them when the phone rang and the voice on the other end made things so much worse. 


"Yeah Ed, just thought I'd let you know, The lien on the house was satisfied, and the guy is settling in to keep it. You can't get it since your load was invalidated by the lien." 


"Who is the little sonofabitch who is taking on my house? He got a name?" 


Ed shouted "What the hell? Jerry damned Stroh?" 


"Yep, so if you want the house I can give you his number."
