Kain struck the edge of his shield at the nearest wolf with enormous power.

Crack!

The wolf wailed in agony. It raised its claw just before it was going to strike Kain. A bone blade punctured the claw, prompting it to jump back.

Kain looked over before raising his shield to prevent the following attack.

Bam!

"I will play defense!" Kain went in front of Rose, raising the skull shield. Rose was the only person who could kill the enemy in this situation. Kain lacked any fighting ability. The only thing he could do was swing the skull shield wildly.

He would defend while his master attacked.

Simple but effective.

However, Kain overlooks two verses nine, which states that when only one person could battle, defeating many opponents while protecting is not the ideal option.

"Augh!" Rose's agonizing shriek rang out as Kain turned to look. He noticed she was being attacked from behind, but there were no visible scars on her back. Her black robe was immaculately clean. It has to be a magical object. However, it does not eliminate pain.

"Damn!" Kain threw his shield down on the wolf who had attacked her. The wolf dodged with incredible agility. Kain was simply a typical human before becoming a skeleton; he had no battle experience or quick thinking; he was just a regular salary guy working to death, therefore the only thing that came out of his mouth was, "Are you okay?"

"Yep, the wolf just scratches me and cries. Yes, I'm OK! Anyway, we need to get this resolved as soon as possible because I'm about to run out of mana!" Despite her desperate tone, she didn't forget to 'joke.' With a wave of her hand, a swarm of bone blades appeared behind her, firing at wolves one by one.

Shoo! Shoo! Pew!

Time passed, and they did not know how much time had passed; fortunately, they kill the wolves with the help of death magic; Rose was absolutely fatigued, and behind her stood a skeleton with a skull shield, staring at the air as if he were in a stupor.

In fact, Rose was the one who fight the most, but Kain gained the most, but Rose didn't know it.

Kain didn't waste the opportunity. When the wolf was hurt or appeared to be on the verge of death, Kain would finish them out with a bone-crushing skull shield. However, Kain only earned 15 life forces from the nine wolves, with 5 life forces for each wolf, implying that he only killed three wolves.

"Fortunately, they were weak," Rose exhaled with satisfaction, resting on the bloody ground, "Whoo! That was thrilling. I never believed I could defeat a wolf, let alone nine!"

Rose's appearance was that dismal one that you don't want to associate with, but when she opened her mouth, instead of 'I want to die, the world is dull' or something like that, she was full of energy and sometimes had the guts to joke around which contradicted her image.

"Your just strong." Kain didn't know how power ranks worked in this world, but after seeing Rose defeat nine wolves, he guessed she was from the middle rank or above. However, this woman seemed unaware of her strength, so he blurted out, "Are you an idiot? Oh, I'm sorry!"

Kain noticed Rose didn't respond as he looked. She was already sleeping, shook his head, and inwardly smiled wryly. He focused his attention on the screen hovering before him.

On the screen, there was the figure of a skeleton beside his figure showing his attributes, strength to magic, below showing a life force he gained.

Kain frowned, realizing how weak he was, but he calmed immediately, knowing he could get stronger through this system. If he carefully chooses what path he wants, everything was perfect.

But choosing a class was different.

"Skeleton Soldier, Skeleton Skull Breaker, Skeleton Shield Master, this class sound powerful, each class hidden with advantage and potential, however, this class does not suit me well, I prefer a long-range, a magician, this class show because I have 5 in physical attribute but don't have magic? How about putting the 15 into magic? However, if I put all on magic, I don't know when will I get life force, so… let's put 5 on agility and 10 magic."

Kain was kind of picky. On the earth, he once dreams about becoming a magician because he envies those who could fly or manipulate things around him. However, Kain didn't choose class just based on his dream. It is based on his analytics and judgment.

If he chooses a magician, who says he still couldn't fight the melee, the system said nothing about if you choose melee class, you couldn't spend your attribute on magic. It's just that your talent and potential would gather in the magician's path, strengthening it so your path toward magic would be smooth and limitless but weakening your talent in the melee, but Kain didn't know this.

Kain believe a magician was most powerful than a melee.

By spending on magic and agility, he was going to hit-and-run tactics.

A cold voice rang in his ears, saying a new class was available.

(Class: Skeleton Soldier, Skeleton Skull Breaker, Skeleton Shield Master, Skeleton Magician.)

Kain sighed in relief at seeing this. His experiment was based on his experience reading a novel, and fortunately, it was successful.

Without hesitation, his skeletal fingers click to Skeleton Magician class.

After that, the (none) was now replaced by a Skeleton Magician, Kain didn't get any skills when he chose it.

"Let's see, Kamehameha wave!"

A green beam shot from his palm toward the tree, creating a small crack.

"Wow, it works?!" Kain laughed. That idea was just flashing in his mind, and he never thought it would work.

(You learn a skill, Energy Beam!)

(Lvl 1) Energy Beam–By focusing your magic on your palm, you can release a destructive and powerful beam.

Magic Cost–10

Kain felt like just something came out of his body, making him exhausted. He guesses it might be the magic.

Suddenly, Kain fell to the ground.

Thud!

---

"What happened? Did I fall unconscious?" Kain mumbled. He was confused. Earlier, his mind suddenly went blank. It must be the consequence of losing magic power.

"Unconscious? Oh, I didn't notice it because you don't have eyes," His Master's Voice sounded in his ears. Kain turn to look and saw her sitting not far away from him.

Kain ignores Rose as he looks past her, and notices that on the battlefield, only broken trees and craters remain. "It's done already?"

It might sound stupid, but Kain hoped he could kill the wolf with his newly gained skill. However, it seems like he was too late.

"Yep, the wolf escaped when it notices its pack was already dead. Oh, the wolf left behind a threatening word. It said it was going to take its revenge with its clans!" Rose chuckled, and said casually, "Revenge? It's only barking because it was defeated."

'Sound like a young master,' Kain thought then said, "Why are you laughing? It was a serious matter. We can hardly deal with the pack now imagined if the whole clan deals us, we better find a safe place first."

"Alright, I know I better place. It was heavily guarded. Even the wolf can't enter that place," Rose nodded, "And it is where I currently plan to stay if not for the wolf."

"Even wolf can't enter, are you sure we are not entering a tiger's den," Kain's voice suspicious, Rose knows the clan of wolves was now at their back, but she led them to where the wolf can't even enter, Kain couldn't shake the feeling that something bad was going to happen in that place.

"No worry, no worry," Rose waved her hands as they walk through the forest, "I have many acquaintances there, and if something bad is going to happen, we can just escape."

"I still don't trust your words, but we have no choice."

Rose was the only one familiar with this place. Kain, who was from earth could only follow her behind.
