 Apekeola finds herself bethrothed to the crown prince of her village who is nothing but a stiff wood to her but everybody wants to be in his good books ,so nobody has the guts to speak about his attitude.

 Meanwhile, Apekeola falls for Michael ,a foreign miner who arrives as a result of the discovery of oil.

Will she succeed in following her heart or will she give in to the whims of her mother.

In love with a foreigner

Nature is truly beautiful. Apekeola thought as she filled her gourd with water. She was at the stream with Omowumi. She noticed the weird glances that were thrown at her .She knew they were talking about her but she wasn't conserned. It would all be over,soon anyways.


"How are the preparations going,Apeke ?" Ademide asked .


She clearly wanted to say more, but,thankfully,she kept her mouth shut.  She didn't say more but Ajoke was too angry not to.


"How could you do this to me,Apeke? I told you I wanted him to be mine and you said you would help me . Why did you have to seduce him? "


Apeke felt guilty for this. She  had betrayed her trust. Ajoke told her her plan to marry the crown prince and she went and suduced him instead. What sort of friend was she? How could she do this to her?


"So,this is what fighting among the underlings looks like?"Princess Jumoke said. 


They were surprised to see the princess   there. Royalty didn't mix with commoners,at least not like this. 


Jumoke was a princess of kingdom of Majekodunmi. Her father was friends with the king of Ilu-Ile and this made her close to the crown prince. A lot of people believed she would be his queen. So,Jumoke was surprised to find out that he was going to marry a commoner. She couldn't let this happen.


"So, it's you? You're the one who thinks you can defeat me?"She said to Apeke.


Apeke wondered what she was talking about. She was oblivious to the relationship between Jumoke and the crown prince. 


"Speak clearly,please. I do not understand you."


"Are you going to pretend you don't know what I'm talking about,you whore?"


Jumoke couldn't believe she still had the effrontery to speak to her like that after what she'd done.


"Hey, don't speak to my friend like that. Just because you are a princess doesn't mean you get to walk all over us."


"Actually, that's exactly what it means. If that wasn't clear enough,it means I'm better than you and I can do as I please."


"Could you please do that somewhere else,then? As you can see we have work to do. "


"I will leave, I'm not interested in places contaminated by filth,anyway. I just need to make something clear to you,the prince is mine. So,you can get whatever ideas you have about him out of your head. "


"The crown prince can think for himself. He will choose whoever he wishes to marry."


"Yes and that will definitely be me because I know him best."


"Good luck ,then. Don't waste your time telling me that. I am not interested in the crown prince."


"You don't expect me to believe believe that, do you? I am no fool."


"I don't care whether you believe me or not. The truth still remains the truth. Have a good day ,your highness ."


 She grabbed her gourd and left with Omowumi on her tail.


"I have to convince him not to marry me."
