Apeke and Michael were so focused on each other that they didn't notice the shocked people behind them. They were so lost in each other's eyes. Apeke was distracted by Michael suddenly leaning in ,almost like he wanted to kiss her. She gulped. Did he?

Was he going to kiss her? More importantly, did she want him to kiss her? She absolutely did.

She closes her eyes in anticipation. She felt nervous but exited at the same time. She waited patiently but nothing happened.

"Were you expecting a kiss?"He whispered in her ear.

"Of course not!"

"Why were your eyes closed,then?"

"No reason." For the life of her, Apeke couldn't find a reasonable excuse to escape this awkward situation. Fortunately for her she didn't have to. Their special moment was interrupted .

Michael and Apeke suddenly heard a noise from behind them.

"Why did you stop? Weren't you going to kiss just now?"Omowumi said.

....

Alani held on to Omowumi's hands as he laid her to the lake he was sure his sister was. He tightened his hold. He was angry and disappointed. He couldn't believe his mother had said all that without blinking an eye. She had really felt no remorse? Was he really just denying the truth? He had never wanted to believe his mother was evil. He just couldn't do it. So he had distanced himself instead, choosing to be ignorant of her actions but he wasn't so sure how well it was working. Either way he couldn't do it anymore. Especially when the object of her cruelty was Omowumi.

"Let go, you're hurting me." Omowumi said. His anger had dissipated completely and he withdrew his hand from hers . He had hurt her.

He was beginning to get worried. What if being evil was in his genes? Was it even genetic?

"What are you thinking of so seriously?"

"It's nothing. I'm really sorry."

"It's okay." She said that smiling at him.

It wasn't okay. How could she forgive him so easily? He was busied by his thoughts once again.

Omowumi was worried about him but chose to say nothing.

They soon got to their destination and were surprised to see Apeke and a stranger in a compromising position.

Alani was about to push him off his sister but Omowumi held him back."Let the magic happen. Don't ruin the moment for them." Alani was still going to go but after receiving a glare from her,he stopped.

"Fine" He said in defeat.

"Good."She said victorious like she had just won the toughest battle.

They hid themselves and tried not to move. They were being very quiet until Alani stepped on something and cursed, drawing Michael and Apeke's attention to them. No!This wasn't happening.. They were about to kiss. why did they stop? It had to be done.

"Why did you stop? Weren't you going to kiss just now?"

"We weren't. I was only cleaning her neck right here."He pointed at her sweet spot just beneath her ears.

"What? What a ridiculous excuse? You were going to kiss her." Alani said. He was quite protective of his sister. He wasn't going to let some random man take advantage of his sister just because he was white.

"It's okay,Alani. " Apeke said and even though he disagreed,he was silent.

"I'll leave now."Michael said. He gave her a kiss on her forehead and made his exit.
