Chapter 23: The Spirit World Pt1

PART 1

"Emptiness... loneliness... no hope... where am I? Have I crossed over into the afterlife... oh... that's right, I died didn't I?"

A young boys body floated in a river of souls, not just his own soul but a river of souls. This was the river of the dead, called the Styx River. It's purpose was to guide souls that had died into their respective afterlife.

As of now Abel floated along it, the river was dark, he couldn't hear anything but the water rushing past his ears as he was carried down stream.

"So there is an afterlife then? How funny... I always believed in it to be myths... and jokes in my life, but to see it's real... haha..."

The River of Styx is said to be deeper than any void, stretching on endlessly to carry countless souls across not just a universe but the entire multiverse of the Mortal World.

It could hold infinite souls inside of its depths.

"How long have I been inside of the River? Months...? Days...? Years...?"

He lost his track of time already, and in a instant he had been exported from the said river.

"Wha-"

In a surprised gasp he fell from a minuscule height, of at least ten meters. It was as if his body had teleported and he fell into some unknown world...? In this world, he was standing on a tree.

"Where... am I?"

The tree wasn't only a tree, but it stretched on miles upon miles into the sky, being above even that of the clouds. Abel looked above him and noticed literal dragons flying above his head, there were birds the size of horses, floating eyeballs in the sky as well.

"I'm... in Heaven?"

He walked forward and looked off the massive tree which was too high to be any normal tree. Down below he could see monsters and creatures of all kinds, they weren't normal, nor any creature you would see in the normal world of mortals.

"I'm getting mixed feelings about this place..."

Abel looked down noticing that there were battles between literal T-Rex shaped entities below. Mixed feelings was only normal, wasn't heaven suppose to be peaceful?

"Look out belowwwww!!!"

Abel still looking down from above had risen his head, looking side to side wondering where the voice came from.

"Huh? Where did— Woaaah!!"

In a instant something flew above his head, nearly drifting him off the tree from its winds alone, but he managed to luckily stay attached to the top.

The top of the tree he was on had a flat surface similar to the top of a mushroom, so falling off could've been his death if there was nothing to grab onto.

PART 2

"I have to be careful on my surroundings, however what I heard sounded like a voice of an human?"

Abel was smart, wise, quickly able to catch onto things. He was perceptive as ever, that's why he was the most loved among the brothers.

Looking back to what nearly swept him off, Abel noticed a dragon... and a human riding it? Well from a mighty distance that's what it seemed like.

"It seems a human has managed to tame a dragon... and now they're coming back my direction? I must find cover..."

He looked around him after he stood up and dusted himself off, not wet from the River Styx which was odd.

However after looking around his surroundings, Abel was unable to find anything to hide under or behind... after all he was standing on top of a flat surface.

"Bad luck for me, it looks like I have to face them head on..."

Abel would stand his ground with the dragon heading his way. It's strength seemed unmatched, Abel was unable to do a thing in this situation but be brave and bluff his way out, or perhaps fight somehow—

"I have no choice but to use my Sin Energy, I must fight against it...."

And thus his body slowly started to gain Sin Energy around it, there wasn't any escaping from this one. He had to believe he could defeat this dragon in one blow...

"Now! Sin-Maker: Catapult!"

Sin-Maker was something that Abel himself created. Sin Maker is a special form of Sin Energy that allows Abel to create as much Sin energy that he needed at his will and to shape it into objects. Abel can shape his Sin Energy into inanimate things or weapons.

Sin-Maker is a highly versatile form of utilizing Sin Energy, coming in useful both in battle, for offensive and defensive purposes, and outside of it. Specializing in it and having been practicing it for years, Abel possesses extreme mastery over it, capable of creating countless objects for a multitude of uses.

According to Abel himself, Sin-Maker allows for him to produce virtually anything, granting himself an unmatched creation capability. As the creator of Sin-Maker, Abel is an individual resistant to Sin Energy and can take damage from Sin and Unholy-based attacks without sustaining a major injury and is either entirely immune to Unholy attacks.

Abel was invulnerable to all Unholy-Attacks be it Sin Energy, or cursed-based abilities.

He had mastered the use of Sin Energy into its full degree of power.

PART 3

The catapult he created from thin air would have a boulder made out of Sin Energy at its launching-deck, and now shooting forward, the catapult released the boulder of energy at the dragon, seeing it fly straight into it like a fool.

"It didn't even bother to turn... why?"

Abel was confused, once the Sin Energy clashed with the dragon, an explosion in the sky could be seen lighting up. It was big enough to be at least the size of a mountain, covering the sky in its vibrant red glow.

Abel couldn't see the aftermath of the Dragon, but he could notice a female heading straight for him—

"Is that a human... wait- GUH!"

They moved too fast, leaping outside from the explosion in a blur to any normal persons eyes, and slamming her fist straight into Abel, sending him skyrocketing off of the tree, blowing through the clouds as if he was a bird.

"Guhaaack—!"

Blood had came from his lips, his was unable to control himself, still flying backwards with his limbs in front of him by the wind pressure pushing them frontwards.

Things weren't looking good for Abel at all, that was until he used his next ability.

"Sin-Maker: Bird!"

On his highway to death in mid-air, he switched it up, spawning in a bird from thin air and underneath him, growing wings but being made entirely out of Sin Energy, as it was transparent and red.

He gotten enough strength to pull his legs down and drag it across the bird, eventually his whole body had done the same, leaving the bird of Sin Energy to capture Abel, stopping his momentum from carrying any further and hold him at a standstill in the sky.

"That....was....close!"

He was panting as of now, trying to re-catch his  breath as he slowly stood up.

"I was sent flying on for miles in seconds... just what kind of strength did she have...?"

Abel looked ahead of him at the tree he was punched off of, but noticed the sight of the girl to be missing...?

"It's odd, to believe she managed to disappear out of clean sight in seconds. The explosion from my catapult is still covering the sky, I can't see the dragon anywhere... is it dead?"

"You!"

Abel felt something grab his shoulders from behind.

"!!!"

He turned around and noticed the same female who punched him in the gut... she was fast. Abel was unable to see her, perhaps as of now this was his destiny? What was Abel here for, truly?
