The Rivendell’s Town Fiesta

"Would you want to go to the plaza party later?"

Jody had just gotten out of the bath and combed her hair while Liza was folding her laundry. That was a hectic day for everyone. Almost everyone seemed to rush through their various tasks that day.

"Would you like to accompany me?" Jody asked Liza. Liza gave her a kind grin. She was well aware of what that grin implied.

"Let's get Uncle's approval first, so we're both safe." Liza chuckled at what she said.

After getting dressed and placing the folded clothing in the closet, they were ready to go later. Liza and Jody go down the stairs together, Liza to her room, and Jody to the garden, where Glendir is. She glanced around as she got closer to the older man; she didn't see Zev, and they didn't even have lunch with him, which astonished her. But Jody didn't ask, and Glendir watched her without her knowing. Glendir discreetly grinned when he saw she was looking for anything.

Jody sat on the other side of the table with an empty chair. "Uncle, will you watch the plaza party later?"

"Would you like to watch?" Glendir placed the book on the table and folded it.

She gave a hesitant nod. "I'd want to see what kind of fun they claim will happen on the plaza." "There's dancing there,"

"All right, we'll go with you," Glendir said. "I haven't visited the fiesta in a long time, so I'm delighted to join you."

Jody fixed her gaze on the older man. "Are you certain, uncle?" Jody hesitated to accompany the more senior man since he seemed unable to party in such a place.

"You underestimate my strengths..." Glendir chuckled.

Jody stated, "It won't be like that, Uncle; I know you'll be tougher than a buffalo. But, uncle, maybe your grumpy son will be furious with us later."

Glendir burst out laughing at what Jody said. "I'll look after him. Don't be concerned about him anymore." He rose, and Gustav rushed over to assist him. "I'll simply get dressed."

"OK, Uncle, I'll wait here," Jody said.

Meanwhile, Glendir asked his packs to rove over Rivendell. They kept watch at every possible exit for outsiders. Zev and his pals will stroll around the plaza and visit the night's fantastic events.

"Doesn't your beautiful sister plan on coming here, dude?" Kross asked.

Zev grimaced in response to Kross' question. "She's not going."

They take in the views as they go around the plaza. Their college friends, as well as a group of girls and Brian, were there. Brian looks around as if looking for someone, and Zev knows who it is. When they arrived, the women greeted them warmly.

"Hello, Zev, and hello, guys!"

Kross, Loel, Jack, and Drake are from another department; thus, Zev cannot convey them to school. Their class schedules vary according to the courses they study. However, since that school is so small, almost everyone will come to know one another, and if they are popular at school, their looks and names will be easy to remember.

"It looks like you're going on a field trip," Zev said.

Tim and Kody both burst out laughing. "Jody, where is she? Isn't she going here?"

He looked across at Brian, who was now staring at him. "I'm not certain," Zev said. "Have a good time at the party. Let's go, guys... "

Zev took a step in front of Brian, entirely disregarding him. Brian laughed a bit and turned to face the women.

"The dance is about to begin," Brian said.

As they approached the entrance to the dance floor, everyone grinned.

———

Gustav parked Glendir's car near the plaza. They may hear numerous screams and party noises. That night's fun was just getting started, and Jody glanced around. Town men decorated the area around the town with dazzling lights. The place was different when she first visited the site. Many young people are dancing in the middle of the dance floor.

They walked to the dance floor inside, searching for an available table. When Gustave saw an empty table and seats, he swiftly backed Glendir up, and they sat down. Glendir turned to face Jody, who smiled and moved her body.

"Why don't you dance, Jody?" He asked.

Jody approached him since the music was too loud for her to understand what Glendir was saying.

"Exactly what did you say, Uncle?"

"I told you to bring Liza and dance."

Jody glanced aside as Liza arrived with drinks for Glendir, Gustav, and the two Glendir looked at Liza, and she understood what he meant. Liza grinned as she brought Jody to the middle of the dance floor.

Meanwhile, Brian was nearby when he saw Glendir. He recognized the older man since he was the wealthiest man in town. Many others respect him as well. He was looking towards Glendir when he overheard the five females with him speaking.

"I thought she wouldn't show up. Why is she here?" Kendra wondered.

Brian turned to look at Kendra, then at what they were staring at in the distance. When he noticed Jody among the dancers, he smiled. He immediately finished his drink and rushed over to Jody. The females in the group frowned.

"Brian, where are you going?" Kendra asked, but the man ignored her. "Haist is vexing!"

"Hi!" Brian yelled in Jody's ear, which surprised her.

"Brian!" Jody shouted with a smile. Liza shifted her gaze to Jody. "You've made it..."

"Certainly," Brian said. He flashed a glance toward Jody's pal.

Jody understood this. "Oh, this is my dearest friend, Liza. And Liza meets Brian, my classmate."

"Hello," Brian said with a smile.

"Hello," Liza said.

"Do you mind if I first borrow your friend?" Brian asked.

"Sure," Liza said as she motioned to Jody. Jody laughed and, with a look, replied no. Liza left the dance floor, leaving Jody and Brian.

Everyone cheered when the music shifted to sweet music. "May I dance with you, princess?" Brian asked.

"Sure"

Jody placed her hands on Brian's shoulders, and Brian slid his hand to her hip. He dragged her closer to his body until they were just a few inches apart and facing each other.

"You have a sweet scent," said Brian.

Jody's face was flushed. She felt goosebumps as his hot breath hit her ears and neck.

"Brian, stop..." Jody said, giggling. "I can't go with you if you flirt like that."

Brian laughed. "You appear to be aware of men's actions." "How many men have you made cry?"

Jody burst out laughing. She only had one boyfriend, while the others were flings she was dissatisfied with for 24 hours.

"Perhaps quite a bit." She was duping Brian.

When Zev saw Liza at the buffet, his brow wrinkled in the distance. When he looked around, he saw Jody and Brian dancing. Jack noticed Zev was staring at Jody.

"It was the stare of a jealous man. Are you jealous?" Jack asked.

"I'm appalled rather than envious," Zev said.

"It's just like that. You feel repulsed because you are envious," Drake said.

Zev ignored him and switched his attention to Liza, who was bringing three glasses of juice. He followed Liza's gaze until it came to the table where she sat, and his eyes widened to see Glendir and Gustav sitting with Liza, watching Jody dance.

"Shit!"

Zev dashed straight to Glendir's table, and his four friends immediately followed him. It surprised Liza when she saw Zev standing beside her, staring carefully at Glendir.

"What are you doing here, Dad?" Zev asked.

"Oh, son. What precisely are you doing? Aren't you having a blast?" Glendir said with a smile.

Zev and his friends sat in the vacant seat. "Dad, what are you doing here?" Zev's voice sounded irritated.

"I'm having a good time," Glendir said.

"Please come home, Dad." Gustav met Zev's eyes. "Gustav, please bring Dad home. You already know why he shouldn't be here."

Gustav couldn't speak, and because Zev wasn't his Alpha, he didn't care what he said, even though he was Glendir's son. Glendir saw Zev's annoyed and worried demeanor.

"OK, Gustav, let's go home," Glendir said. "You stay here, Liza, so Jody may join you."

"Stay with them. "I'll take your adopted daughter home, Dad," Zev replied. "I also want her to dance with me."

Glendir smiled. "Wow, that's incredible."

Glendir, Gustav, and Liza all sprang to their feet. Zev turned to glance at Drake and Loel, who both nodded. Zev is still supporting Glendir until they get to the car. Gustav, Glendir, and Liza got into their car and drove away. Drake and Loel followed them on their motorcycles.

On the other hand, Jody couldn't stop laughing at Brian's jokes. She even hits him on the arm now and then.

"I had no clue you had such a sense of humor; in you, I see nothing but arrogance," Jody said.

"You're mistreating me." Brian chuckled.

"You know, the truth hurts," Jody said.

"May I dance with you, Jody?" Zev asked.

Jody and Brian both locked their gazes on Zev. "I'm still dancing with Brian." "You just need to find another woman who can dance." Jody was annoyed.

Zev muttered angrily at Jody, then shoved his face near her ear. "Dance with me, or I'll bleed this man's mouth before you."

Jody looked at Brian after a brief moment of astonishment. "Are you all right?"

"Of course, she's OK," Zev said.

"Ahm, Brian, I'll dance with Zev first," Jody said.

Brian turned his gaze toward Zev, who offered him a sarcastic smirk. When Brian moved away, Zev focused his attention on Jody. Jody didn't want to touch him, so he wrapped his hand around Jody's hip and dragged her closer. Zev felt the girl's chest against his. He took a deep breath, grabbed one of its hands, and put his face to Jody's ear.

"Jody, you're not thinking clearly," Zev said.

Jody pushed Zev, who turned away from him. On the other hand, Zev returned his focus to Jody's ear and shifted his body so Jody couldn't push him.

"What are you saying?" Jody was annoyed.

"You are aware of Dad's identity. You also know he's fragile; why did you bring him here?" Zev's voice was low as if he didn't want anybody to hear them.

"Exactly what do you mean?" Jody asked.

"You never know what will happen if another weredragon finds dad's condition and kills him."

It surprised Jody; even though she couldn't understand what Zev was saying, she could feel his wrath.

"Remember what my father told you about my sister's passing so you can understand what irritates me." Zev let go of Jody, leaving her in the middle of the dance floor.

Glendir's story came flooding back to her as the music became louder. Concerning Zev's sister's death: Brian approached and grasped her shoulder.

"Do you feel OK, princess?" Brian asked.

"I'm OK," Jody said.

"You should get some rest first." Brian then walked closer to the empty table to assist Jody. Jody sat in the vacant seat. "I'll just get something to drink."

Jody nodded and grabbed her head. Her phone was vibrating. Liza was calling her, and she answered immediately.

"W-what?" Jody glanced around, startled. She needed to find Zev, and Jody rushed off the dance floor.

As Brian approached the table, he saw Jody had departed. "Where is she?"
