Jayr POV - Dragon Ball Universe, Zeno's Palace - Age 780
Watching the shock and confusion on their face, I simply smile confidently and say, "First Door of the Muga no Kyochi (State of Self Actualization) open... Hyaku Ren Jitoku no Kiwami! (Pinnacle of Hard Work!)"
After saying that, I calmly release both Top and Goku's limbs from my hold, allowing them both to take a few steps back and create some distance between us before they both react with shock to what they just experienced.
"What the hell was that!? For a moment, something felt absolutely off..."
"What a strange feeling... It was like my Ki suddenly ran amok, and the power behind my kick harmlessly dispersed into the air."
Then the two of them finally catch on to what I said and repeat with clear curiosity and intrigue in their tone.
"First Door of the Muga no Kyochi...?"
"Hyaku Ren Jitoku no Kiwami...?"
Hearing that, I maintain the same confident smile on my face and explain, "Muga no Kyochi is a special state that I've been trying to create for quite some time. It allows the user to fully unleash and maximize their potential, copy, execute, and improve techniques that he or she has seen or experienced, react to any situation or threat with the perfect move with perfect timing, break past their limits, and much more. It is divided into three parts or levels that I like to call doors. The Hyaku Ren Jitoku no Kiwami is just the first of the three doors that can be opened that make up the complete Muga no Kyochi, and just as its name says, it is only unlocked through a hard, constant, and very long period of completely immersing yourself into training to the absolute limit."
Then I calmly clench my fist feeling the absolute control over every single part of my being and continue my explanation, "The opening of the Hyaku Ren Jitoku no Kiwami of the Muga no Kyochi allows the user to have an absolutely insane control over their own body and any energy that that the user is aware of, to the point that the user can concetrate their full power into any part of their body in an instant making the power behind their attack explode exponentially. On top of that, it also allows the user to manipulate, redirect, and even control an unaware opponent's energy to their own advantage. Like I did just a few moments ago when I casually dispersed the energy and Ki behind your attacks. In fact, if I wanted, I could have easily redirected that energy back to you. And one last advantage of the Hyaku Ren Jitoku no Kiwami is that thanks to the control granted by this state, the stamina-draining side effects of any technique used are reduced to the utmost limits."
At the end of my explanation, my opponents and all the other Gods around us react with a mix of shock, admiration, awe, and so on.
"Wooaaah! This sounds very powerful, Jayr!"
"What a frightening ability... Truly an ability worthy of a God like Jayr-sama..."
"If all of what Jayr said is true, then he truly created something fearsome..."
"Oh my...! And that is only the first of the three doors... it makes one wonder what the complete form of the Muga no Kyochi could look like..."
"Ara ara... Jayr-sama is truly an exceptional God! You should learn from him, Champa-sama, and so always lazing around, maybe that way you could have avoided that disgraceful spectacle from before."
"Damn you, Vados...!"
"I don't understand much of what he said, but it seems that Jayr is amazing!!"
"Right! Right! This is so fun!"
At the same time, I can't help but smirk a little while thinking, 'As expected from the ability whose main inspiration came from the sport anime Tennis no Ouji-sama that it was later labelled as "Tennis Dragon Ball"... After a few changes, revisions, and some additions here and there, the Muga no Kyochi fits perfectly in a battle setting and it became something exceptionally powerful... From this brief test alone, I'm completely sure that the complete Muga no Kyochi state is able to curb-stomp Ultra Instinct without any issue... After all, my current power level is still around Base Form Goku, I'm still limiting my physical body to a level more or less equal to my opponents, and I'm using simply Ki instead of my Spiral Cosmo, but despite that, I'm still able to easily match a Super Saiyan Blue Goku and the more powerful Top on my own...'
While I'm thinking that, I also sign to Goku and Top to come at me, and in response, the two look at each other before they give a silent nod and then they both launch a volley of Ki Blast in my direction, but once those Ki Blasts are within my range, I casually wave my hand and manipulate the Ki within them making so that they harmlessly disperse.
At the same time, both Top and Goku charge toward me and start to attack me with a series of punches and kicks, but I'm easily able to block them all, and at the same time, I'm discreetly gathering all the energy and power behind their attack and containing it within my body waiting for the perfect moment to release it all in a devastanting decisive blow.
I don't have to wait for long for that moment to arrive, as both Goku and Top decide to gather a massive amount of Ki within their limbs and deliver a very powerful blow at the same time, likely in the hope of overwhelming me and my insane control with sheer power alone.
In response, I simply continue to smile and calmly block their attacks with my hands, but at the same time, I also focus on rebounding their power back to them while also adding all the gathered power until this moment and as a result both Top and Goku are instantly blown away knocking both of them out of the stange in one single swift move making the Zenos exclaim out loud in perfect sync, ""Whoa.""
Soon after Top and Goku crashed on the floor, the Grand Minister calmly announces, "Son Goku and Top have fallen out of the ring. Therefore, the winner of this match is Jayr-sama!"
Following after the Grand Minister's announcement, I let out a sigh and relaxed both my body and focus, closing the Hyaku Ren Jitoku no Kiwami door and fully coming out of the Muga no Kyochi state, making the pure white misty aura emitted by my body also fade away before I jumped down from the ring and calmly healed both Top and Goku who received quite a heavy blow.
As I'm healing them, Goku, who is now back in his base form, takes some heavy breath before he comments, "Haaah... Haaah... I guess I lost... Man, Jayr... You sure are hella strong...!" before he turns his head to look at Top and says, "You are seriosly very strong too, Top! I'm pretty sure that if Jayr didn't stop us back then, your kick would have surely taken me by surprise..."
In response, Top sits up and says, "Indeed... Make sure you don't let your guard down like that during the real tournament. But I have to admit that you are quite strong yourself. If I hadn't countered that, you might have won... Of course, that is if Jayr-sama wasn't taking part in that battle."
Top then looks at me, bows, and says, "I'm very grateful for giving me a glimpse of your power, Jayr-sama. I have to admit that even if you limited yourself to a mortal level, I'm no match for you. It was an honor."
Hearing that, I wave my hand and casually say, "You don't have to be so polite. It was kind of selfish of me to take part in your battle, and I do feel a little bit bad about that, as without my presence, you would have likely won... But seeing the Gods of Destruction fighting, I just couldn't help but feel the impulse to fight a little myself, even more so as I wanted to do a live test of the Muga no Kyochi for quite some time. For that, you both have my thanks. In fact, I'd like to do something to both apologize and show my appreciation-"
But before I can say anything else, Top stops me and says, "There is no need for that, Jayr-sama." followed by Goku, who adds, "That's right, Jayr. Fightin' you was already quite a fun experience in itself. Especially experiencin' that Muga no Kyochi of yours... That's quite some technique!"
After saying that, Goku also sits up and comments out loud, "Either way, it looks like I'm going to have to be able to beat Top if I want to win the tournament... This isn't gonna be easy going..."
At this point, Top gets up, pats the dust off his clothes, and says, "Then I've got some more bad news for you. In the 11th Universe, I'm the second strongest."
Immediately, Goku looks at him with clear confusion on his face, "Huh?" before Top adds, "In my universe, there is someone named Jiren who is stronger than me."
Hearing that, a surprised Goku can't help but ask, "H-Hang on... So you're not the strongest," which makes Top honestly reply, "That's right, I'm not. Jiren is much more powerful than I am. In fact, as far as his power level goes... His is even higher than Belmod-sama, a God of Destruction."
In response to Top's revelation, Goku can only exclaim in shock, "Even higher... Than a God of Destruction...!? Are you saying that this Jiren guy is even more powerful than your universe's God of Destruction...!?" which makes Top plainly reply, "That's right."
Goku then tells Top with clear disbelief still in his tone, "You said you were a God of Destruction candidate, so I thought you'd be the strongest for sure..."
In response, Top patiently explains, "You see, just like you, Jiren has no intention of becoming a God of Destruction..."
Seeing Goku standing still in silence, digesting the news, Top turns around and says, "Since there's not a lot of time left before the tournament, I'll excuse myself now." But then Goku smiles widely and exclaims, "Awesome! This is perfect!"
Curious, Top turns his head to look at Goku and asks, "Why's that?" which makes him reply, "I'm happy that there's someone as strong as you and now you're telling me that there's someone even stronger, right!? I'm really looking forward to this tournament!"
Top stares in silence for a few moments, then he simply says, "You're a strange guy, Son Goku," before he quickly jumps on top of his universe's floating platform.
At the same time, I also simply wave them off before I return to the platform I was using with the Zenos and Patamon, only to find them already discussing the rules and format of the Tournament of Power.
Seeing that, I immediately join their discussion and without wasting any time, I also give them the proposal of allowing a group chosen by me to take part in the Tournament to make it even more interesting and entertaining while also telling them how would the partecipation of my team influnce the Tournament of Power and what the possible prize would be if my team would be the one that won in the end.
The Zenos loved my proposal and quickly agreed to it, and then together with the Grand Minister, we all started to discuss all the other various details, and before long, we ironed out all the kinks and quirks and are ready to announce them to the other Gods.
"So we've agreed on that."
"Sounds good."
"This is going to be so much fun! I can't wait to tell my brothers!"
"Yes, understood."
After we finished ironing out all the details, the Grand Minister turned around and announced to all the other Gods of the 12 universes present, "So, everyone. After watching the results of this match, we have decided on the rules."
This immediately catches everyone's attention, making them all quickly focus on the Grand Minister while I hear Champa mutter, "So it's really happening."
Shortly after, the Grand Minister continues with his announcement, "Please select 10 warriors from each universe, excluding Gods of Destruction," which makes some of the Gods present immediately react and mutter among themselves.
"10... people..."
"It is more than I thought..."
"This is going to be messy..."
The Grand Minister ignores all those murmurings in the background and professionally continues, "We've changed the rules to be slightly simpler. For this Tournament of Power, if you make your opponent fall off the fighting stage, then you win."
In response to that, Goku, who has already returned back to the 7th Universe's platform, immediately exclaims, "Huh? That's it?" before he asks out loud, "What is your opponent collapses on the stage?" which makes the Grand Minister calmly answers, "Then please throw them off. Of course, you shouldn't kill them. The time limit for each battle will be 100 tiks."
Hearing that new unknown term, Goku glances at Whis behind him and asks, "100 tiks?" which makes the Guide Angel plainly explain, "In Earth's time, that's around 48 minutes."
Goku's reaction is immediate as he exclaims in disbelief, "48 minutes!? Isn't that too long? With that many people and individual fights, it'll be way too long."
At this point, an annoyed and slightly scared Beerus quickly slaps the back of Goku's head while yelling, "Stop talking back!" before he immediately bows and apologizes, "I apologize, Grand Minister."
The Grand Minister casually says, "It's fine," before he further explains, "It won't take long, so there's no need to worry. There will be only one match; in other words, all warriors will be fighting to push each other off the stage."
Shocked by this revelation, Goku stutters in disbelief, "All... Warriors!?" which makes the Grand Minister plainly reassure him and the others, "It won't be an issue since we will be preparing a large stage," making Goku weakly mutter, "That... That's not what I was..."
At this point, the Grand Minister focuses back on continuing with his announcement of the rules, "After everyone has fought for the designated time, the team with the most remaining warriors will win. Of course, even if the time limit has not run out, if only one warrior is left standing, then their team will win."
At the same time as the Grand Minister finishes saying that, some of the Gods present once again react to this new information.
"Were they inspired by the battle royale we just had..."
"But with 10 people from each universe, it'll be different just from the sheer size."
"I knew it... This is going to be a true chaotic mess..."
"Hehehe... I like it!"
"Teamwork is going to be really important for this..."
"And that is something that Saiyans lack the most..."
Meanwhile, the Grand Minister moves on with his annocement, "As with the battle between the 6th Universe and 7th Universe, the overall winner will recieve the Super Dragon Balls. So go ahead and work hard to have your wish fulfilled." before he focuses on Champa and says, "So is it alright, Champa-san? Please pass over the 3 Super Dragon Balls you have already. We will collect the other remaining ones."
Surprised that the Grand Minister knows about the fact that he was collecting the Super Dragon Balls, Champa can only stutter "O-Okay." before Beerus glares at his brother and asks in an annoyed tone, "This bastard... You collected them again, aren't you tired of it yet?" which makes Champa weakly defend himself, "Sh-Shut up, Beerus!"
At this point, the Supreme Kai of the 3rd Universe, Erye, timidly raises his hand and requests, "May I please make a comment?"
The Grand Minister looks at him and calmly asks, "What is it that you want to know?" which makes Erye thank him before asking, "Thank you. I fully understand what will be rewarded to the overall winner, but what will be rewarded to the winning universe?"
In response to that question, the Grand Minister smiles and plainly states, "Nothing," which makes the Supreme Kai confused for a moment before he misunderstands, "Huh? ...Ah! I see, so the prize is the honor of winning."
But the Grand Minister immediately corrects him, "No, the reward for winning is [Doing Nothing.]"
After a brief moment of silence and clear confusion, the Grand Minister further explains, "Zeno-sama won't do anything to the winning universe, but... It seems that Zeno-sama intends on wiping out the losing universes, erasing them once and for all."
As soon as the Grand Minister finishes saying that, a heavy, tense silence falls in the area as every single God present remains stunned on the spot, momentarily unable to react to what they had just heard until the dam breaks open.
"What... Did he... Say... Just now...?"
"Wipe... Wipe out?"
"Ara ara..."
"Oh my...!"
"Im-Impossible...!"
"Is this a joke...? This isn't fun..."
"Worst case scenario..."
"Wha-Wha-Wha-Wha... Wha-Wha-What... WHAT DID YOU SAY!!?"
In response, the Grand Minister casually explains, "Zeno-sama often laments that there are just too many universes, so this seems like a good opportunity to remedy this small issue." while the Zenos behind him cheerfully agree in sync, ""Right! Right!""
At the same time, I can't help but smile wryly while thinking, 'In the end, I wasn't able to make Zeno Change his mind about this... Oh well, even in the improbable case that something goes wrong, I can always use my Dragon Balls to restore all the erased universes... After all, I'm pretty sure that after the Tournament of Power, Zeno won't mind their presence too much, even more so because I'll convice him that with more universes, he can periodically host other editions of the Tournament of Power with various prizes to incite the fighters in going all out making it more fun and entertaining for him in the long run.'
While I'm thinking that, the other people present can't help themselves but snap out from their stunned state and react to the Grand Minister's terrible revelation.
"Ah... Ah..."
"R-Really!?"
"No... No way...!"
"This has turned into a bigger deal than I thought."
"It's the worst possible situation that none of us could have even imagined."
"So you're saying... Only one universe will remain?"
Hearting that last question, the Grand Minister calmly corrects him and explains, "Not just one. The 1st Universe and the 12th Universe, as well as the 5th Universe and the 8th Universe will also remain since the mortals in those universes have an average level that's higher than 7 they are exempt from taking part in this tournament."
Once again, the Grand Minister's words set off another wave of reactions and exclamations from all the Gods, some with disbelief, others in annoyance, and a few with clear relief, especially the Gods from the exempted universes.
"Huh? What's this?"
"We're saved...!"
"Great!"
"Phew..."
"Damn it!"
"So... So close...!"
"That was close..."
"All our hard work paid off!"
"Shit!"
Suddenly, the God of Destruction of the 10th Universe, Rumsshi, asks in part curious, part timid, and part hopeful tone, "Excuse me... If our universe is erased. Th-Then what happens to us..." which makes the Grand Minister answer in an even tone, "Don't worry, all the Gods apart from the guiding angels will also disappear." once again scaring the shit out of most of the Gods present, excluding the ones who are already safe.
At this point, Whis calmly analyzes everything that was said until now and explains, "Considering what happened with the universes that were exempted... If we were to sum up the true purpose of this Tournament of Power, it seems that even though the weaker universe should inevitably be erased, if they win, then they'll be spared from this fate..." which makes the Grand Minister glance in his direction and praise him, "Exactly, Whis. It's as you say."
As Whis gracefully bows in response to his father's praise, a curious and baffled Beerus can't help but ask, "Look here, Whis! Is our universe really that weak...!?" which makes Whis calmly explain, "Among all the 12 universes, the average mortal level of the 7th Universe is 3.50... It's definitely bad, it's the second to last."
Hearing that, Beerus can't help but exclaim in shock, "S-Second to last...!?" before he starts glaring at the Supreme Kai Shin and yells, putting the blame on him, "It-It's all your fault! It's because you babbled on about how it's pointless if a planet doesn't become one with a high mortal level through its own efforts, and because of that, there was no need to act!"
In response, Shin also tries to defend himself by accusing Beerus back, "Y-You're the one who was just spending eons sleeping the whole time!"
At this point, the Grand Minister moves on to the final part of his announcement, "The tournament will be taking place on a special stage in the world of Void, also known as the Null Realm. I will be sending you there, so each universe should gather at a place of their own choosing. Any latecomers will be left behind, so please be warned. In addition, in case it needs to be reminded, just like what happened in the Zeno Exhibition Match, the use of any objects that make the fight impossible to proceed regularly is absolutely forbidden. If any are discovered, the entire team will be disqualified and thus their entire universe will be erased, so please be warned."
Shortly after saying that, the Grand Minister adds, "Now, I'd like to inform you guys about one last thing that we have decided to include to make this Tournament of Power more interesting. We decided to allow our honorable guest, Jayr-sama, to also take part in this Tournament of Power by forming a team composed of warriors of his choosing."
At this point, the other Gods present already start to wonder a little about the inclusion of my team in the Tournament of Power, but before they can fully voice their questions, the Grand Minister continues, "I already know what you guys may be wonderning now, and yes, Zeno-sama isn't able to erase the Jayr-sama's universe which means that there is no danger for Jayr-sama's team and even the reward for winning the Tournament isn't all that enticing. To counter that, Jayr-sama offered that in the case that his team lost, the winning team would be able to use a set of Dragon Balls of his own creation, which can be used to grant a wish for any member of the winning team. However, if his team is the one who comes out victorious in the end, then Zeno-sama and thus all the remaining universes under his rule will swear eternal allegiance to Jayr-sama. In simple words, his friends will become all the 12 universes' friends, and his enemies will become all the remaining universes' enemies."
Hearing that, I can't help but nod while thinking, 'This is for the best... Sure, I could have easily asked to become the supreme authority of the Dragon Ball Multiverse in the case my team wins the Tournament of Power, and Zeno and the Grand Minister likely would have also accepted without any issue on their part. But that isn't what I want or need. I mean, thanks to the Seed of Culture, I already have some degree of control over the Dragon Ball Multiverse. On top of that, if I win the Battle Across the Omniverse, I'll also eventually become the ruler of this whole Omniverse anyway, so there is now no need for that. A formal alliance is much more tame and a better option in the long run. After all, the Dragon Ball Multiverse is incredibly powerful."
While I'm thinking that, the Grand Minister concludes, "Then I will now send you all back. While you have some time to fully prepare, please do so quickly, I would be a shame if your universe got erased just because you weren't ready." before he quickly teleports everyone back to their universe officially signing the start of the preparation period for the Tournament of Power.
