When her eyes fluttered open she took in the familiar interior of the room with the help of little light that seeped into the room through the slits in the deep blue curtains embroidered with gold flowers. The room was painted plain white but laden with luxurious items. The iron cupboard covered one wall designed lavishly with golden patterns a couch huge enough to pass for a single bed was placed on one side in front of a book shelf covered in dusty books with yellow pages and hard covers. She let her head fall back on the feathery pillows again realizing she was no more in the hotel room she was originally supposed to be.
The squeaking noise echoed in the room as the door opened she opened her eyes only turning her head having no energy to even sit up. A young man dressed in his armor entered the room. He was tall and fully muscled he looked strong in fact she was sure he was. His green eyes with blue hues studied her and he smirked dimples appearing at the side of his fair skinned face. He pushed back hi dark black hair coming further in the room.
"How does it feels to be the one without power this time, Princess Idalia" his voice was deep, mocking.
Cursing she rolled her eyes at him turning away her head. She looked down at her hands to see bracelets on each hand. She was spell bound no wonder she felt weak.
"Aren't you feeling nostalgic. Returning to the place where you belong 30 years later" he referred to her room.
"Who are you? Why did you bring me back here?" She wanted to sound angry but she was tired the spell bound was taking too much of her energy.
"I am hurt. You don't remember me?" he scoffed laughing, clearly enjoying this. "We met at your house a week before. Where you nearly murdered me and killed my friends. You gnashed me so brutally I couldn't even teleport" he spoke through gritted teeth annoyed.
"You deserved it." She said simply remembering when he had and two more of them had attacked her and she had to send Audra away.
"But do you know helped me then. When I teleported out of your house because of my power weakening…" he circled around her bed and she felt dizzy following him with her eyes. "I ended up teleporting in the middle of nowhere and that too in the air. And of course I had to transform into the dragon form. It was so painful you have no idea. I want you to feel all that pain and understand what you did to me"
"What do you want?" he was nuisance to her.
"Oh, the story is still left. Do you know who visited me then in the middle of the forest. It was a girl in her early 20s she was pretty I have to say. I had a wonderful conversation with her and then she healed me. So I asked her name of course. Do you know what her name was? take a guess" he chuckled seeing her troubled expression. He saw the. realization dawn in her eyes. "Yes, her name was Audra" he clapped.
"What have you done to my daughter?" this time she sat up anger burning in her eyes. She was ready to kill him on the spot.
"I have to say she was very kind too and brave too for someone who had never seen a dragon before. How could you not tell your daughter about her own fate?" he faked pity provoking her.
"What did you do to her?" Idalia growled.
"I did nothing" he found himself revisiting the memories.
He stared at her so little in front of his dragon form and they both looked unsure if she had really healed him. He was genuinely thankful; he was about to ask her name when he heard a voice, someone was calling Audra. He was familiar with the name had been for a long time. He had been searching her for years now. He saw her responding to the name and he knew she was the person he was looking for. He felt his powers flowing again inside him now that he was healed. He had to take her with her he had already failed to take princess Idalia. So he grew a vine right below her. He had succeeded in almost taking her with him when a figure appeared. It was Marcello. He paused right in front of the scene assessing the dragon.
"So you have been hiding her?" he turned into the human form again staring at Marcello.
"What are you doing here?" Marcello questioned.
"why can't I come back home?" he asked his powers still capturing Audra unconscious.
"You abandoned 'home' long ago" Marcello's words were full of spite.
"This was never our home from the beginning" He gritted out.
"Leave" Marcello ignored his comment. "I won't do anything to you if you just leave"
"Why won't you fight me I am holding the girl you are supposed to protect captive?" He challenged.
He took in a deep breath thinking carefully of his next words. "Because even if you don't except it you are still my brother"
He scoffed hearing the words. "No, you are not my brother you are just that King's slave"
"And what are 'you' doing? Aren't you one of the queen's minions as well you are doing this right now on her commands" Marcello countered.
"At least I live according to my wishes and accept myself as it is" He came up pushing Marcello his back hitting the tree.
"That's what you think, they are using you" Marcello pushed him off. His hands curled around and the wind around his brother began to swirl until it raised him up and he was left hanging in the air the wind binding him above the ground.
"Get me off" He growled.
Marcello ignored him and looked down at Audra bound in the vine. He walked closer and cut the vines with one slash of his swords against them her hands fell to the sides with a slight thump ruffling the leaves beneath her. "We have made our choices it's better not to bother each other" Marcello bent down putting his hands under Audra he lifted her up easily and marched ahead without looking behind he just whispered before leaving "I won't tell anyone about what you did today because at the end of the day you are still my brother so I hope in change you stay away as well" and then Marcello left.
As soon as Marcello was out of his sight he fell to the ground with a loud thump. "We would meet again 'brother' and then I won't lose to you like today" he knew Marcello was gone but he said it none the less.
"Nicole" hearing his name he was pulled back from the forest and was back in princess Idalia's room. He turned around to the source of sound. Queen Orianne entered the room dressed in white gown that pooled around her decorated in ice blue and silver stones. Her face paper white was wrinkled and straight no emotions displayed as she took in her daughter's weak form seeing her 20 years later.
"Your Highness" Nicole bowed to the queen and she simply waved him and he stood up again straighter.
"Shouldn't you talk more politely to your princess Nicole" She didn't even look at him she stared at her daughter who didn't even meet her eyes.
"But she isn't my princess is she?" He commented venom lacing each and every word of his. "She is the princess of Ice and Fire Kingdom but I don't fit in there I am from the Earth kingdom" His comment was the result of Marcello's words ringing in his ears so he decided to remind them of his place here in this kingdom. He was a free person owed to no one. With that said he dismissed himself noticing the queen's hand turning into the fist but he knew she wouldn't say anything in front of his daughter letting off her lack of control on her 'subjects'.
"Why am I here?" Idalia asked her mother she bit on the insides of her cheeks so tight she could taste the metallic blood now.
"I missed you" Queen Orianne simply stated.
Idalia chuckled but she was nowhere near happy. "Is that some sort of sick joke. You were the one who sent me 20 years ago and now you suddenly miss me. What do you want?"
"Why do you always misread my intentions?" Queen Orianne's voice was low filled with hurt.
"Your intentions were never clear" she said to herself.
"How should I prove my intentions?"
"Where is my daughter?" She had to find out if Idalia had safely reached to her father or not.
"We haven't found her yet." And this time she looked at her mother. She wasn't sure if her mother was lying or that Nicole hadn't told her about meeting Audra.
