Sneaking in

"Let go" Audra tried to pull her arm from Karl's grip but he was holding on too tight for her.

"No" He refused pulling her the other way.

"If you are not going to come with me I will go there myself" She fought against him. They both stood in the ground, arguing like little kids.

"None of us are going there" He wasn't ready to lose either.

"Yes I am"

"No"

"Yes"

"I shouldn't have told you about it" He regretted all his life decisions in that moment.

A scene from two nights earlier flashed in her mind.

"Give it back to me" She screamed at Karl ready to strangle him with all her strength. But he was taller than her he held her phone high up in his hand dangling it in front of her enjoying her reaction, her face turned into a tomato and her eyes murderous hungry for blood.

If she had ever made friends with Karl right now, he was no more than a prey for her and she was about to kill him in an instant

"Give me one good reason why I should give it to you" he paused looking at her angry face.

"Because or else I will kill you" she growled and he was easily able to hold her off by his one hand and the other holding the phone away.

"Wrong answer" HE laughed clearly having fun getting ahold of her weakness.

"Why are you doing this?" She cried about to give up.

"I have no idea what this thing is but this ruined me. I have no respect left. Even the workers around here laugh when they see me" He took off his anger and she laughed looking at his face still having traces of black ink. She had teamed up with Lucio drawing mustaches on his face with black ink and clicking his picture portraying it to everyone else. Even though staying wary of her since day one everyone had laughed seeing Karl's face and joined in with her so this was payback.

"I would remove that picture I promise just give me my phone back" she begged asking for her phone still not apologizing though.

"No, I think this is a devil's object I can even feel negative energy radiating from it. It must be destroyed. He pretended to be a scholar assessing the phone in his hand.

"I think that negative energy is coming from your devil's brain" She countered this time lunging at him and pulling his leg causing him to topple down, her phone falling away from his hand. She scrambled towards it grabbing it before he could reach it.

"Why do you even care so much about it?" HE laughed sitting up dusting away the dirt on his clothes.

"It's the only proof of my world" She switched on the phone it glowed and she sighed in relief.

"aren't you a proof of that world too" he commented.

"I am not so sure about that anymore" She replied honestly standing up.

"But you said this doesn't even work over here" He noticed her down mood.

"I know right, but still it has too much memories filled in it. And this was the only way to contact my mother but it's useless here for that purpose. There is no connection for me to find my mother in a different world" She had formed a sense of comrade with Karl in past two weeks.

"Actually there is" His announcement caught her attention and she swiveled around listening to him attentively.

"Don't look at me like that we can't get our hands on it" He took a cautious step back afraid of her increasing hopes.

"We can decide that later just show me what it is" She smiled up at him trying to pull her best puppy face.

"What do I get in return?" Her question received a huff in response from her as he looked at her with one eyebrow quirked upwards.

"I will remove that picture of yours." She proposed trying to negotiate with his rigid form.

"Delete it first" He negotiated from the front.

Now it was her turn to look at him with one eyebrow quirked up and tongue poking the inside of her cheeks.

"Do you know one word from a fire prince's mouth is as good as a promise?" He boasted about his position earning only an eye roll from her.

"You are never going to trust me are you?" He sighed in defeat.

"Fine I will remove it but if you fail to fulfill your promise of showing it to me I will make it reappear that's the magic only I know" She threatened. He saw as she touched different areas on the screen and his picture went away and instead another picture appeared it was of her and her mother.

"" Who is this?" the picture was there for a fraction of second but it caught Karl's eyes.

"This is my mother" she replied closing her phone.

"She looked familiar" His words surprised her. They couldn't have possibly seen her mother apparently she was gone from here when they weren't even toddlers.

"Stop making excuses fulfill your promise" She turned the conversation around.

"whatever" He led her the way around the palace and they stopped inside a small storage room with wooden floors.

"This is where the king my grandfather holds the meeting with his few special people we aren't allowed in there. Usually his spies that he has for special purposes." He explained peeking through the wooden planks.

"Inside a wooden plank" she questioned suspiciously.

"No, in the room beneath this one" he stated as if it was more than obvious. He motioned her towards where he was sitting and asked her to look through the planks.

And there it was. She couldn't see much only the king and a glass globe placed on a red cushion. Hues of black appeared in the globe and she saw the king staring at it attentively. She too waited and then she saw it. It was her face and she saw herself in someone else's phone screen hitting the guy in the café. The clip seemed years old. That's when the realization hit her that all of this was the consequence of her own actions that day.

Sounds of footsteps emerged from outside the door and Karl patted on her back motioning her to leave. Disappointed, she nodded in agreement with Karl and they both tiptoed out of the room.

"Well you did now, too bad" She replied returning back to the garden trying to pry free from Karl's hold.

"You are seriously not going to listen are you" he gave up his hand still holding onto her arm.

"I am going to ask Marcello then" Who was she kidding ever since that incident in the forest he had kept away from her and she hadn't yet gotten a chance to get back to him for it.

"he'll murder us both" he replied, as if she didn't know.

"Fine then Lucio" he has great spells.

"We can't just barge in. We need a strong plan. There are guards." He couldn't win against her.

"Now you are talking" she smirked at her victory.

About three hours later Audra had found herself hiding behind the vase even though she was invisible. At least that's what Lucio had explained. Yet she found it better to remain hiding.

"I shouldn't have given it to you" a loud roar occurred from the end of staircase. Her head whipped around recognizing Karl's voice. Her eyes became as large as saucers as the scene unfolded in front of her. At the end of the hallway by the staircase stood Karl holding Lucio by the collar. Cuts and bruises visible at various parts of their faces. They both held a murderous look in their eyes ready to tear each other apart.

"Do not blame me" Lucio growled back punching hard in Karl's face causing him to fall on the floor she was glad it wasn't the opposite direction or he would have rolled down the stairs.

As if on cue the guards stand on the other side of the hallway guarding the doors of her answers, came running towards the commotion. She waited for the guards to pass her and then she sprinted this was her chance she ran as fast as she could before the doors would close.

And there she was easily without anyone noticing she had slipped inside the room. She looked around the Massive room set with nothing but chairs around a huge table and in the middle of it all was the globe kept on the cushion. It was the kings room and she had to hurry the spell on her had no effect in this room. If caught stealing here she would be subjected to treason.

Cautiously, nor even believing her own eyes she moved towards the globe. Her hands shivered as she reached towards it. Her mother's picture already tattooed at the front of her mind. She wasn't even an inch away from it when a loud voice echoed in the almost empty room sending her jumping off her feet.

"aren't you sneaky just like your mother?"
