Chapter 63

A week passed.

Haru had gotten a letter back from Bumi, congratulating the Prince of Omashu for becoming the King of Ba Sing Se. The news about Haru becoming the king became known inside and outside Ba Sing Se. The whole Earth Kingdom was talking about that. The merchants would talk non-stop about it.

Haru became a true legend when his feats surpassed what anyone can imagine. A One Hundred Man Haru was his title. Others call him the Savior. People started making stories about him already, and the news reached his haters, the Fire Nation.

Haru had received a letter from Bumi, and he was happy to read it. The mad king asked him to swear on his family name. Bumi sounded like he was doubting Haru, who knew that Bumi was just kidding.

Still, mentioning Haru's family got him a bit. As he had spent most of his life in that little village, he was quite nostalgic. He wondered how his family was doing. His mom was probably cooking something for his dad by this time. As for that girl, Luna, right? He hoped that she isn't pregnant by now. It's not that he forgot who she is. His mind had been too busy with the war and training his soldiers. Haru wanted to check on things.

Haru shook his head. He would think about the important things for now.

At the end of the letter, Bumi mentioned he would come soon to Ba Sing Se. It should be today.

Haru knew that it was time to unite the Earth Kingdom. If Omashu and Ba Sing Se joined together, the other independent cities and generals will join them.

It's the semi-final step to kick out the Fire Nation. No, kicking them out simply won't satisfy Haru. They had done so many bad things. He had been forced to live the poorest life one can imagine. His mom had been working to pay taxes to the Fire Nation. Haru had been living on nuts and bread, while his father was in jail. Worse things had happened across the Kingdom.

'I'll make them pay all of their wealth…'

"Your Majesty. King Bumi had arrived."

A man approached Haru from behind and whispered.

"Let him in."

Haru lifted his hand, and the man walked away. This was one of the Dai Li agents. Haru had taught him how to metalbend. Although the man had a hard time mastering it, Haru had hypnotised him. He had made his subconscious understand metalbending, which made him learn it finally. It seems that hypnosis can be used to make things more clear.

Haru's system work on the same principle. Whenever he advanced a level or learned skill, he would instantly master that level. His subconscious would know how to do it. The more advantage system has is it makes Haru aware of that, unlike his hypnotised soldiers.

"Hehehe!" The door of the main hall opened. Bumi entered, laughing. "Haru, you are really a king! You are the first one who is going to hear this from me." Bumi looked at Haru's outfit and laughed. "You are a mad genius." He then turned to Suki, and he lifted his hand. "Hey, Suki."

"Hey, Bumi." Suki waved back.

"I'm flattered," Haru said with a lifeless voice. "So, what took you so long, old man? I thought that you are already dead."

"Hahaha! But I'm still young." Bumi said. "I'm going to meditate, so I can spy on girls forever."

"Haru, kick him in my stead." Kyoshi, who was floating above Haru, said.

Bumi was lucky that he couldn't see her.

"Enough with the jokes," Haru said. "Let's have a meal, and after that, we will discuss that."

"You are talking about uniting the kingdom."

"Yes."

"I then shall congratulate you for becoming the emperor."

"Leave it later. We will celebrate once everything is over."

Haru then invited Bumi to sit in front of him.

Soon, a bunch of maids came with a table and a royal meal. Haru had someone taste the food, and it appeared to be good. One can't be too careful when becoming a king, although no one would try doing that.

"So, I will pass the throne to Omashu to you, and you will become the king of both stats. That way, the kingdom will unite." Bumi said as he started eating.

Haru looked at Bumi, who didn't seem to care about his throne at all. Bumi was a man who looked for a bigger picture. A crazy man too.

"I won't take the throne from you, for now," Haru said. "You shall continue to rule it under me. Anyway, I will need you to manage the kingdom when I head to the Fire Nation."

"So, you are going to the Fire Nation… what should I call you now… hmm… Earth Emperor sounds fitting." Bumi said.

Haru rubbed his chin. "Earth Emperor. It sounds good. I'm just not in the mood to enjoy luxury."

"Anyway, what will we do, after uniting the Kingdom," Bumi asked, grabbing a water bowl and drinking it in one go.

"After announcing that, we will build a path between Omashu and Ba Sing Se," Haru said as he leaned on the throne.

"And how are we going to deal with the Fire Nation soldiers, if they tried to ambush us while constructing the road," Bumi said.

"As you know, they depend on metal, right?" Haru asked.

"Yep."

"I have trained around 20 metalbenders. The Dai Li, the most talented earthbenders can metalbend." Haru said.

Surely, their talent had little to do. It happened because Haru modified their brains.

"Hold on… you did what!"

Haru clapped his hand. "Jing Jong, come in."

From the door, entered a lean man. He was wearing green clothes with a Dai Li agent hat.

"Demonstrate your skills."

"As you order, your majesty." The agent, sounding excited, bowed his head. To him, just like any other agent, have an inner desire to fulfil Haru's wishes.

He reached in his pocket, brought a piece of metal, and made it float.

"How did you teach them?" Bumi wondered. Haru had tried to teach a bunch of soldiers in Omashu. However, he got so frustrated. He had said that their soldier didn't have talent, and he was right.

"I have made sure to put it right in their head." Haru winked. Now, if he taught the blockheaded soldiers how to bend, they will. However, he can't increase their power or talent. Just their understanding.

Bumi laughed. "So you kicked their ass. The poor things."

He didn't seem to understand what Haru meant.

At any rate, Haru preferred to keep his ability a secret.

Even Suki knew that. She had been next to Haru and she didn't say a word about his mind manipulation dance.

Haru and Bumi discussed things. Haru said that Bumi will take the lead after they make the announcement. Haru trusted the old man. As to why Bumi didn't ask why Haru is leaving this responsibility to him. It was he knew Haru would be leaving for Fire Nation, to kidnap the Fire Lord.

Haru said. "I also want to visit my village for days, so I would appreciate it if you keep eye on things."

"Do it. If I had a family left, I wouldn't hesitate to spend an extra moment with them." Bumi sighed.

"Great! Take me with you. I want to see my parents-in-law." Suki spoke for the first time.

Kyoshi rubbed her chin. "I wonder where you learnt most of your bending skills. I would love to see where. It can't be a humble place."

'Only if she knew,' Haru held his chuckle.

Later that day, Haru had collected the people of Ba Sing Se.

He, with Bumi next to him, declared that the Earth Kingdom is one again. There will be one king, and their cities are one. He also announced that they will join together to end the war. It will make their nation rich again when they can finally use the lands outside the walls.

He then made an open invitation for the remaining lands of the Earth Kingdom to be under his protection.

"As for the new name, It will be, the United Earth Kingdom.

The people sounded happy and praised Haru for being a wise king.

A one united Earth Kingdom never had happened before.

The only one who had been close to achieving it was Chin the Conqueror.

But the ghost next to Haru, Kyoshi, had killed him.

This time, she is with him, so no worries.

Haru was sure that the remaining Earth Kingdom cities will join him. He wouldn't force them. But the Fire Nation would. They would seek Haru's United Earth Kingdom protection. They won't dare to fight alone, and they will join Haru.
