Chapter 28: Initial Suspicions

Polly Song turned around and looked at Victoria, with this tone, anyone would think she was her dad.

"Thank you, Miss Lowe." Polly Song said, then looked at Victoria, "All set, Dad?"

Victoria: "..."

Polly Song turned and left. If Isabella Lowe had picked it up, she would have thanked her, but the receptionist had clearly put it away, so what kind of goodwill was Isabella Lowe showing?

With Isabella Lowe's relationship with her, if she actively helped her, it was mostly a plot.

"Young people can be a bit unruly, but when we were her age, we didn't dare to be so unruly." Isabella Lowe chuckled, as if she was merely lamenting.

Polly Song suddenly stopped walking, took a deep breath, and looked back at Isabella Lowe. "Miss Lowe, do you know why you couldn't be unruly at my age? Because you're missing a dad-like husband."

Polly Song was satisfied to see Isabella Lowe's expression change slightly, and with a few cute gestures towards Victoria, she said, "Dad, hurry back, okay?"

Victoria: "..."

Why is this woman so irritating?

Irritating enough to be smacked.

Isabella Lowe watched Polly Song walk into the elevator, successfully hiding her anger, "Victoria, I didn't expect you liked girls like her."

"Really? I didn't expect it either." Victoria said, then left.

Isabella Lowe's smile completely froze on her face. If Victoria's previous words were ambiguous, then this sentence practically admitted he liked Polly Song.

Polly Song muttered under her breath, cursing Victoria for being troublesome. When she got out of the elevator, she saw Michael Knight's assistant with a medical box going in, and she paused at the door to take a look inside.

"Polly?"

Michael Knight saw Polly Song walking over, "Sorry, did I bump into you again?"

"I don't get along with your fans, never spared from disaster." Polly Song said, leaning against the door with her backpack, looking at Michael Knight, seeing the red mark on his forehead, "Bumped?"

Michael Knight raised his hand to touch his forehead, "Just didn't see clearly when entering, bumped into the glass, it's no big deal."

Polly Song felt the pain just by looking at it. Indeed, nothing comes easy.

"We didn't have this situation last time at the mall, did we?"

"Now it's work time, any time is work time." Michael Knight shrugged slightly, also leaning on the door, "I heard you went to MR. Yang's house today, any findings?"

"No findings, but had a romantic encounter." Polly Song quite liked talking to Michael Knight; talking to him always made people feel comfortable.

"Really, that counts as a finding." Michael Knight chuckled, "Better looking than Mr. Parker?"

"Victoria good looking? Are you blind?" Polly Song was still angry, making her thank that scheming woman, she remembered it well.

"Hahaha..." Michael Knight laughed loudly, his glance caught sight of someone approaching, but he still spoke, "Did you and Mr. Parker marry out of love?"

"You might have a blind heart too, a man like Victoria has no other resolution but lifelong loneliness." Polly Song waved, "I got up too early, I'm going back to catch up on sleep. You take care of applying your medicine."

Michael Knight watched Polly Song leave with a smile, then looked at Victoria walking over with a dark face.

"She did say one thing right, you are quite suited to lifelong solitude." Michael Knight said with a half-smile, it was rare to see such a dark expression on Victoria, as making Victoria angry was not easy.

But for Polly Song, it seemed extremely easy.

Michael Knight watched Victoria follow Polly Song's departure, his smile faded a bit, "First comes marriage, then comes love, it never goes out of style!"

Michael Knight sighed and turned to let his assistant help him with the medicine application.

Polly Song returned to the room, placed her bag on the sofa, lay on the bed, yawned with tears, and fell asleep on the bed.

When Victoria came in, he saw the person sleeping like a piglet on the bed, sleeping really fast.

Andrew Lindsey came over and whispered something to Victoria.

Victoria pulled the blanket over her, covering her not gently, then turned and went out, "Have Michael Knight come to my room, get some people to follow Polly Song."

Andrew Lindsey responded and went to find people.

Michael Knight came over after applying the medicine, directly sat on the sofa looking at the person sitting by the window with a computer, "Why call me over at this time?"

"Eden Young has a problem."

Michael Knight: "Eden Young?"

He was here working as MR. Yang's brand spokesperson, "Didn't find any issues."

Victoria looked at Michael Knight, "Cancel any collaboration projects as much as possible, don't blame me for not warning you, this person has not only some issues, but possibly big ones."

Michael Knight furrowed his brow; if Victoria was sure there was a problem, then it wasn't just a big issue but potentially involved unimaginable parts.

"I'll have the company arrange it, Mr. Parker, you're not just abroad for Polly this time, what case are you investigating? It won't drag Polly into this, right?"

Victoria closed the laptop before him, "She's my wife, you're overly concerned."

With "Polly" in every sentence, anyone would think Polly Song had some unspeakable relationship with him.

Andrew Lindsey returned, and Victoria left.

Andrew Lindsey came back bringing the things Victoria previously asked him to investigate.

"Miss Song was born in a mountain area of Cloudland, parents passed early, at fifteen, she got into University A's architecture program for master's and doctoral studies, her only grandfather passed away, never returned since." Very straightforward life trajectory, practically no other twists and turns involved.

Victoria stood by the window with hands behind his back, looking at the people outside, it sounded like a truly tragic world; if this was all true, it was quite rare for her to live so carefree.

"Just after entering university, her grandfather passed away; meaning her past has become a tale told by others." Victoria spoke slowly, "So what's Eden Young's motive for painstakingly bringing someone with no background like her here?"

Andrew Lindsey didn't know, so he didn't know how to answer.

"Did the old lady insist on her marrying me just because of that bar incident?"

Now it seems, perhaps the bar incident wasn't an accident either.

Polly Song slept till dark, waking up rolling on the bed to clear her mind, picked up her phone to check the messages, Emma Turner sent the initial sketches based on Polly Song's concept drawings, also writing down some issues she and her senior noticed.

Looking at those issues, Polly Song got up, took her sketchbook from her backpack, then went to do comparisons, without noticing something seemed stuck in the spine of the sketchbook.
