Chapter 144 Back On Track

Ragnar spewed black blood on the ground. The link of memories had hurt him mentally and physically. But he pushed through and stood up, supporting himself on his throne. Through his pain, he managed to say.

" So, I made a promise. What is it you want?" Ragnar said to Cronus that appeared next to him. He was currently the size of a elephant and nothing more. If he wanted to, he could have been millions of multiverses bug, in other words pretty much infinite big.

" You have already given me what I want, there is no need to give me anything." Cronus said.

" Then why are you here?" Ragnar asked, confused.

" When someone fuses with their future or past, they are the most vulnerable, so I'm here to make sure nothing tried it's luck. Now that Paarthadox isn't here, I'll have to protect you!" Cronus said and walked away, seeing Ragnar was fine once more.

What was that all about, Ragnar thought to himself, as he struggled to get on his throne and rest.

~Pov Traqall~ (Third person)

Traqalls skin was turning black by the second. He was stuck some kind of space. He had fought of of the so called Primordials. The fight was one sided and he was brought to his knees in seconds.

" You know, I'm not the one you were supposed to hunt! I am above anything you can imagine! If you wish for a fare fight, find the primordial of ice. It was made for you, not me!" The primordial said, for some reason it wasn't killing Traqall, almost like it couldn't. It wasn't allowed to harm him, more then it already had.

" Well good luck little one. I sense your potential will let you become a lower leveled member at least. You should have no trouble clearing this trial. As long as you don't underestimate your enemy." The space thing said, sending Traqall hack to the place of play.

As he landed face first in the snow, blood started to pour out of his nose. It was blue black, just like his skin. It wasn't returning to normal. It was now a natural color of black. He felt pain from his skin, like it was freezing in real time.

" How nice of space to send you too me." Something said, coming out of the snow. All of Traqall instincts screamed run, but he could do it. Space said he could. For some reason he felt like he could trust the words of his enemy.

Traqall got out of the snow. His nose was red from the blood. As he got up, he left a small puddle of blood in the snow. It looked like a slushy.

" Oh, you want to fight. I thought you were a coward. You sure as hell look like one!" The thing said. But his taunts went over the head of Traqall. He wasn't childish enough to become infuriated by his enemy's taunting.

" Not one to bathe in your anger I see. Well that's good." The thing said.

A thick layer of frost was solidifying around Traqalls ankles that were in the snow. It went unnoticed by him, until he realized he couldn't walk.

" Got ya." The thing said, before a wave of snow swallowed Traqall. The tsunami of snow had the force to rip a continent to shreds and all of that power was on Traqall simultaneously.

In the midst of his pain, he managed to create a thin layer of nightwater, protecting him from some of the pressure.

After some minutes, the snow tsunami stopped, but Traqall was still trapped under millions of ton of snow. But he started digging his way up, while his blood was freezing. The temperature of the snow he was in wasn't absolute zero. It was below, it was true negative 3. It could freeze a sun within five hours. If it isn't melted that is. Which the sun could easily do.

Traqall fingers were going numb, from the coldness from the snow and the digging didn't help. It was only speeding up the inevitable loss of power. After one minute of digging, his fate was sealed. Frozen like a Popsicle in a freezer.

[First attempt failed, does host wish to try again? Attempts left "2"]

" Again!" Just like that he appeared in the snow again standing in front of the creature manipulating the cold.

" Here again I see, didn't you have enough? Give up already, it's hopeless. You can't beat me!" It screamed. But Traqall didn't listen. He looked at the mountain of snow kilometers high and wide. He couldn't see it's end from where he was standing. But he could feel the coldness from it. He would freeze to death in five minutes, just by being close to it.

In a desperate attempt he attacked the creature capable of killing him casually.

His skin was freezing and shattering, as he ran through the cold. Every step he took, his skin would fall of. Somewhere along the line, the beings exoskeleton disappeared and it had gained bones and muscles instead. It hadn't noticed it yet. But if it's family saw it now, they wouldn't recognize Traqall. He had become much more organic, than he was before.

" You are improving but, in the end you are meant to fail!"

The creatures words failed to reach Traqall, it was never meant to be. He had died before he even managed to get to his enemy. Behind and connected to his body was ice. Ice spikes went out of his back, almost like they were formed while he was running.

[Host has died once more, one attempt remains.]

Without hesitation Traqall chose to continue. But as he appeared again in front of the man all he managed to hear was.

" I'm growing bored of this!" Then he died.

[Host has died zero attempts remain! If host wish to trie again, host will die for real, in case of failure. Does host wish to trie again?]

"Yes, send me in, I can take him!" Traqall screamed in an outburst. His constant failure was getting to him. He hated it, he hated feeling weak. He had forgotten what that felt like. The inferiority that consumed the soul, the fear of death. Ones life in the mercy of the enemy. He had to make it disappear, become more. Reach new hights!

[Host has passed the first trial "Courage, or foolish?" Host will be sent to the lobby, to wait for the second trial.] The system said, as Travail was teleported out of the white room.

He appeared in a dark room, with several others, just like him. They were angry, consumed by fear. Helplessness. But there were some who smiled. Happy about their circumstances. They were the foolish ones, not him. No he wasn't foolish. That was what he was telling himself.

Many beings are affected by death negatively. Sadly Traqall was one of them. He became fearful about something everything should accept. Be it mortal, or immortal. All beings but three, will die one day.

[Congratulations to all who passed] something said. It appeared out of nowhere in front of the contestants.

[You all have passed the first test and are now guaranteed to become low members of society. But you all have ways to go and maybe one day. You will become one of the supreme members. One of the few who made it through all hundred trials.]

" Who are you?" Someone asked, interrupting the things speech.

[Good question young one! I am what you can call a hologram of the system all of you have access to. Now can I continue with what I was about to say, or does anyone else have the plans to interrupt me?] It said. It was made entirely out of some black substance. It had dark twig looking wings, with eyes and mouths everywhere over it's ball shaped body.

" I have, why do you look like that?"

[Good question. I figured you won't be a pathetic wreck when you see them for real in the future. No more questions, it's time for the next trial. This time, you do not have second attempts you die, you fail.] The thing said, before all the beings in the room disappeared and a new group appeared.

[ Hello failures. You will be welcomed into the city as the filth. All of you lacked the basic necessities for improvement. Therefore you will spend the rest of your life as the lesser members of the city. Your benefits will also be lesser. But, you are not prisoners. So you can leave and come as you like. Good luck building the city from the ground. Slaves of the successful.] The system said, before making them vanish. It had pressured them all the time, under the conversation, so they wouldn't even dare go against it's orders.

" Things are coming along nicely. Wouldn't you say the same, system me?"

" Yes chaos me, I would say the same."

" You two, stop playing around, more are coming and system needs to have full focus on them."

" Fuck of sun me, you are boring."

Traqall appeared in the middle of a dark, wet, smelly room. It smelled like feces of different beings, all collected in one place. In human words, it would be called the sewers.

Traqall ran with all his might. Not wanting to stay in the place. But he was interrupted by some creatures that lived in the sewers. They had many mouths and many eyes. They were shaped like a slime, but with all those Traits. A pile of filth with eyes and mouths. A disgusting creature. The lowest, in this world. Traqall quickly disposed of them and crawled to the surface.

As he got up on the surface, he felt something hitting his head. As he looked up, he saw buildings and some weird creatures with fear iN Their eyes, pointing their weapons towards him.

" Mom help, a monster."

" I know honey, I know. Everything's going to be fine, the guards will protect us."

" Stand down." The guards said, while the people mumbled. But Traqall didn't understand their language and thought of them as his enemies. So he treated them as such. Killing all the guards and the innocent in the city, before running away. Leaving a destroyed village behind.

(Some time later)

" What happened here?" A man asked someone next to him. They wore silver armor, with silver clothing over it. While the man who asked wore a whit, dress like clothing, with hint of gold on it. In his had was a golden staff.

" They were attacked sir."

" I can see that, but do you know what attacked them?"

" No sir, we don't have a clue. But we found some people who survived the attack. Their hiding in one of the houses that weren't destroyed in the conflict."

" Save them, don't ask them, I'll just search the mind, of one of the dead. Perhaps they saw what killed them."

" But sir, doesn't that take a lot of energy?"

" Yes, but even if I'm old, I won't idly stand by as the people of my god die."

" Very well sir, I'll get to it."

The man in golden white clothing touched the forehead of a women, holding a child. As he saw the creature, he sweated and painted it on a paper.

" What is that?" One of the men next to him asked.

" That's the S rank monster, who attacked this city. I want a S rank bounty on it, with a high reward. We can not let it destroy another city!"

" Yes sir." The soldier saluted and ran of to do his part.

" As for the rest of you, help the commander rescue the survivors."

" Yes sir!"
