Arc 2 Chapter 172 Socks

Ragnar turned to his right, to face the being who talked to him. It was four meters tall and looked decently human. Strength wise, it was about peak celestial. The two fighting had stopped on its arrival and awaited its final verdict.

"What gave me away big guy?" Ragnar said, even though the celestial was only a meter taller than him currently.

"Nothing, you're good at blending in, but I've met the sixth dimensional beings here and you're not one of them. So as I couldn't sense your powers in the slightest I came to one solid conclusion, you're an outsider!"

"Well you're not wrong, so can you bring me to your friends up there? They're hiding their powers very well!" Ragnar asked. Every since he arrived he had been unable to sense, or find these supposed sixth dimensional beings. He searched most of the city with his vision, but found nothing. So he decided to do a thorough investigation. So he took a stroll after he talked to the women in that house.

"I will bring you to them this instant!" The being said and saluted. The man Ragnar had talked to before seemed as confused as one could get, it was only a minute after the duo had left that it realized that Ragnar was a sixth dimensional being.

The duo traversed the streets. An on foreseeable among of wooden houses spans out as far as one could comprehend. There was no end to it and there most likely will never be.

"So, where are we going?" Ragnar asked his guide, who had been quiet under the course of the journey.

"We are visiting on of the cracks. This place is so big I don't even know the end and therefore the sixth dimensional lords decided to make cracks leading to their homes all over this realm. That way they aren't forced to make long journeys." It said, before going silent again. It was doing this intentionally, conversing with Ragnar as little as possible. It was but a fifth dimensional being and didn't deserve to speak with a being such as Ragnar. This inferiority was a common thing for all beings in this realm.

After a full hour of walking in the celestial's speed they reached a crack. It was subtle and wouldn't be noticed by normal celestials.

Ragnar walked through and realized he was missing his guide. So he turned around and puff, the crack was gone. So with no choice he started walking and walking until he reached a small lodge. It was in the middle of nowhere. One little creature stood there, watering it's plants. The weird thing about this being was that on it's hands were socks. On it's face, socks and on it's feet socks. The more one looked at it, they would realize that it was entirely made out of socks.

"Hello." Ragnar said and waved, while approaching slowly, not to scare the being in front of him. The being in question turned around and moved its hand made out of socks quickly. A small sock launched at Ragnar and expanded upon exposure to the outside world. Turing into a gigantic sock that absorbed Ragnar and before Ragnar knew it he was inside the sock.

A dim light, colored by the sock seeped into the ginormous inside of the sock. A whole world was being formed in front of Ragnar's eyes. Socks became animals and trees. All creatures of fabric, made out of socks started attacking Ragnar together and despite Ragnar's powers he was quickly overwhelmed.

~Pov Ragnar~ (First person)

A giant bird made out of socks launched at my right arm, so I simply dispelled the arm and attack it with my left hand. As my hand collided with the sock instead of hitting a hard object I tore right through and my hand ended up inside the bird. So I tried to drag my arm out of the bird, but it was stuck, so instead I tried to dispel it, but that failed to. So as a last resort I separated myself from the arm and made it go out of control inside the sock.

An explosion of Nightwater flowed out of the sock and started returning to me, but my short little victory came to an end quickly, when the sock bird attacked me again. So I used the lose Nightwater to bind the bird and retreat. But it just so happened that I walked into another creature of fabric.

Instead of hitting a solid object it reacted like last time and forcefully attempted to absorb me, so I exploded the body parts inside the woof like sock and stopped having a human form. I became a raging sea of Nightwater flowing around inside the sock, hitting each space more and more. I tried to fill the sock with liquid faster than it could grow. But my fight was inevitable and the sock was growing much faster than I could fill it.

After a while the ceiling of the sock started to fall on me like rain as my Nightwater got deluded by socks. More and more socks fell into my ever growing domain and soon I wasn't able to fight against it influences. I started to shrink and shrink and under the influence of the socks I was becoming a ball. After a while I became a little bubble of Nightwater inside of a sock.

After my imprisonments the sock from before, that was watering the plants.

"The lord will be happy to see you. Oh how rare, a Time Raptor as a sixth dimensional being, traveling through time. Haven't they told you that it's stupid. No matter, I get to kill another one of your kind. The lord was so kind to give me such marvelous purpose." The sock said walking back and forth.

"Now would you tell me you disgusting thing, who of my kind mated with a vile Time Raptor?" It asked me and confused the hell out of me. Doesn't it know my parents? Isn't that why it caught me?

"My father is Bjorn or Bjorne, he apparently went by both names. He's the Sun Vermin of Light, I don't know if you've heard of him." I said, trying to scare the socked fellow.

"The child of light, the cursed child, who's father wished him dead. Born from a Vermin and a true Sun Dinosaur, yet somehow with the linage of time. I remember, your father trying to claim your life. But as he was going to kill you, after your first ten thousands of years, something strange appeared. Something powerful. It damaged your father and killed your mother! In rage your father attacked, but he died all the same. Than like a joke, before we could kill you, the creature took you and disappeared from our sight. Till this day it's a mystery who that being was and how it got away with killing the favorite son of existence. If I have you, than I have to bring you too the lord, he will be delighted. Your life ends very soon you vile creature!" The creature said, but I stopped registered its words, after it told me the truth of my father.

My own father, wanting to kill me? Why would it want to do that? It has to be lying to me! It can't be true!

~Pov Ratri~ (Third person)

Waking up Ratri felt a one of a kind headache. She hunched over in pain in her laying position and grimaced. Slight groans and moans escaped her lips, as she attempted to stand up, only to fall down again. Her mental pain was so strong, it hindered her physical body to exist and after some seconds she fell apart becoming a cloud of darkness.

Sadly it didn't stop there and shortly after she hollowed in pain, enveloping the city in an looming darkness. The celestials all around the realm were quickly engulfed in the night and killed, or forced inti submission. After some seconds tens of sixth dimensional beings in the seventieth layer appeared around the darkness. They tried to fight it, but somehow they were being overwhelmed.

"Impossible, your not an all knowing, how do you possess powers only they should be able to have?" One asked, as he realized one thing. The being they were fighting wasn't seventy like them, she was in the seventh first layer.

All the sixth dimensional beings fighting Ratri were forced into submission just like the celestials and titans below them.

Meanwhile Ratri was fighting the pain she was feeling, a losing war as it seemed. The evil thoughts were so strong, so enthusing. It lured her, bringing out her worst traits. She was lost in her war against herself, when she remembered her time with Ragnar. She remembered how they visited a bunch of worlds and timelines, how they finally reached something she could only dream off. Than all of a sudden she lost herself in the worlds she was shown and over time she felt alive, so alive. She felt herself growing with each second. She understood her purpose, she realized she wasn't whole, she never would be. But now, if she looked at the world, embraced its alluring visions and thoughts, maybe, maybe she could be free, truly free. But then, everything was taken from her. Ripped from her very being. The part of herself she had grown reliant on, dissipated. Only to return as a vengeful spirit causing her immense pain.

In all her pain Ragnar's image kept flashing in her mind. 'Yes, yes Ragnar, if I find him, I'll be saved. He can help me, quench this pain!' She thought and with that she gained a purpose in her rampage.

The first thing she did was to order all the sixth dimensional beings she forced into submission to bring her to Ragnar. They received an image of his looks and quickly the search began, more and more beings were brought into the search until a weird celestial was found. It gave them information about a sixth dimensional being entering the home of the lords of this realm and with that lead they started searching the homes of the sixth dimensional beings until they cane to the last. A small sock was all inside the realm and it gained the subconscious Ratri's attention. She quickly ventured into the small sock and found an infinite world in front of her.

More and more of her body crept into the sock and she started searching the place. She quickly found another being inside the realm. A sock fox, than she found a bird, lions and all kinds of creatures. They attacked her, but to no avail. All died on touch and she finally got a lead of where Ragnar was. When she killed the bird she felt a small trace of Nightwater on it. With renewed instincts/vigor she searched the sock and finally a human shaped sock greeted her.

"Interesting, how did a servant of Ahura Mazda come here?" The sock asked Ratri, but she didn't respond and simply attacked it. The sock quickly created a barrier of socks around itself, but Ratri broke through and launched the sock into it's own walls.

"My o my, why are you hostile against me. Aren't you a servant of Justice, than you should know that killing Time Raptors is the absolute truth. All of them should die, rot in the vilest pits of hell, or die, not to be remembered. What were doing is totally Justified, Time Raptors are disgusting, all of them deserves to suffer every second of their short pathetic lives!" The sock screamed and attacked Ratri, but she fought it off. Her darkness managed to push the sock back more and more, until she reached Ragnar.

There she saw him. A droplet of his former self, his mind at the edge of its life. His will to live all but left. He was broken, beyond that. Whatever the sock thing had done to him, had left him in a state between life and true death.

"You'll regret this!"
