Chapter Six: The Needle in a Hay Stack:

My nose twitched, and Damion knew exactly what I was smelling.

His eyes not only glow a lighter yellow, which meant that he was in attack mode, which also meant that this party was about to be crashed.

And we were not the only wolves to smell him. A human in a room full of werewolves was going to be as easy as finding a needle in a haystack.

And that would be easy, but with my witch scent smelling almost human, and me being a half breed, I had to sit out and leave the club so that they could sniff him out.

Damion's nose was the best at sniffing out humans. And bad intentions.

But I had Jai stay with me outside to keep me company and safe. The other Olivia, the werewolf, not my sister who is a witch, came out in a panic tagged by her cousin, Amber, who was stammering words that didn't quite make it to my ears.

"Serenity is in danger. He just asked for her by name. And he has a silver knife. He said that he won't leave this place until her has you dead. And there's a fight that is about to break out in a few minutes if she doesn't go in there. He says that he is going to kill as many of them as minutes you are not in there."

Without any question or response, I just walked right in and announced that it was me.

Every pair of eyes was on me as I walked in like I owned the place, or at least like I needed to save everyone from a death served on a silver platter.

With my arms out to the sides, I yelled at the man, "Here I am! Come and get me and leave them alone. It's me that you want, not them. Oh, and I already know you know what I am, so let's get this out in the open. Outside. Just you and me. And trust me, I can beat you easily. Without a freaking doubt. So, leave them all the freak alone and meet me outside right now. Let's go."

And with that said, he followed me out right away.

I could smell the fear of the other wolves as even their silence was deafening.

The only sound was the footfalls of our shoes and the creek of the door opening and shutting.

Now, if I were just a normal witch, I would have used my magic to defend myself by restraining him, but this was so not the case. I recognized the amulet that hung around his neck on a silver chain.

In fact, he reeked of the smell of silver. It made my thoughts and stomach spin in ways that I would have never would have worried about, but the silver was obvious, because , hello, werewolf. And that amulet looked like.

No. Freaking. Way.

"You have my grandmother's amulet!", I yelled so loud, I forgot that there were others inside that could hear me. But at this point, I don't give a rat's ass if I caused a scene.

This was a human with the worst of intentions. And I am not about to let innocent lives be at stake, or ended, and a war between the human world and the supernatural one to start all over again.

Ha. No, this guy had to go. Right now.

"Oh, so this is your grandmother's amulet huh? Well, it's nice to meet another, and the last witch of the family. You know, I've killed many witches in my day, and I will never stop until every last one is dead."

"What do you have against witches anyway? I'm just curious."

He barked a laugh, "You really think that you can take me on? How did you ever escape my grasp when I had the chance. You know, I knew a werewolf once, Robert, I think was his name. Before I knew what he was, we made a great team, trying to hunt down every last witch on the face of the Earth. We tried to protect the world from the harmful dues to their magic. And now that I have you right where I want you," he took a step closer and said softly, "Now no one will come and save you from me. You'll die by my hands. And just to answer the question that you won't ask, I killed Robert."

Like a beat of a drum, I felt Jai's energy level sky rocket and she came crashing out of the door, and just stood there with her mouth hung open in utter shock at what she had just heard.

Jai finally found words and they were as soft as a feather, yet felt like a punch in the gut.

"You, you killed my father? You? How could you!"

Tonight wasn't supposed to have a full moon, so she didn't have the chance to transform. Not yet anyway.

She gave me a look of pure madness, as if asking my permission to attack him. I nodded.

And with my eyes, and using my magic to make her transform momentarily, I cast the spell.

She knew what it meant when I muttered under my breath like that, so she got ready for it and as I concentrated, my work paid off. For her anyway. My brain was going to feel like a trash bag full of pudding.

Mushy and not all there. That's only because I have used so much of my magic tonight, my brain is starting to feel numb.

But I had to do it to save the people I cared about.

Focusing as hard as I could, she turned as soon as I muttered the last word. And with that, she was already ready for a fight. But I had to warn her about the silver vest under his trench coat.

Casting another spell, I took away the power of the silver, and made it gold instead.

Isn't magic great?

As the other wolves came out of the club to help her, they stopped int heir tracks and watched me, not knowing why I was just standing there.

I cast my final spell out loud so that they knew what I was doing. One of them almost broke my focus, but Amber held him back. She gave him the side eye as if to say, hush it, she's helping us.

He obeyed her, even though she was not the alpha.

After many blows, kicks, punches, and attempted biting, the man tried to pull out his big gun, and took off his coat, thinking that his chest plate was still silver.

But he would be in for a huge surprise.

He did the stupid thing and just stood there, waiting for her to be burnt. But I had a little fun though. I told Jai to step back, and she did so.

Olivia and Amber were still trying to explain what was going on to everyone.

And with the last bit of magic I had left for tonight, I made the chest plate rainbow cotton candy.

Literally.

Jai howled a laugh and so did everyone else.

The man just looked angry and confused. That is until he touched the wet cotton candy, looked down, and gasped.

"What did you do witch? How can you do that? I've killed every witch there except you! I'm going to kill you! You're going to rue the day you ever met me! I'm going to kill you, just like I killed Robert!"

And with that said, he threw a silver knife at me, aimed at my heart, but I ducked as it only grazed the top of my shoulder.

The scream I gave off caught the attention of everyone. I lost hold of the spells, and Jai was now in human form. And not only that, the cotton candy was now silver again.

The series of events that played out were not only gross, but when Jai gave the order to attack him, every last one of them attacked him, not giving a care in the world about the pain of the silver burning their flesh. It was literally a blood bath.

It only took a matter of minutes before he was laying down on the ground, knocked out cold.

Jai asked the question about how I could do so many spells at once, but I had only one answer.

The others were listening to the conversation as well, but I didn't care. They needed to know.

"Well, I just didn't want anyone to get hurt because of me. And I'm really sorry that they all got battle wounds for you. And I 'm really sorry about your dad. I may not know the guy very well, but he's your dad and I know that he meant well. It's just, I care about every last one of you here, and I know that coming here is causing a lot of pain, so I'm just going to leave now."

As I started to walk away, someone grabbed my hand, and I knew by his scent, it was Damion.

He said, " Stay. You belong here."

He started to howl, which caused everyone else to howl as well.

Knowing what that meant, I announced, "Who's ready to get tattooed?"

The crowd howled again, which meant, heck yeah.

"Okay, in about an hour and a half, whoever wants tattoos will get them for a discount. Free! You all have been through so much, and I think that you have paid enough of a price, so, tattoos are on me tonight. But first, let's go party like animals!"

The crowd cheered as they flooded back into the club to pick out which tattoo they wanted, which gave me enough time to get ready at my shop.

This is going to be one of the longest nights at 'The Silver Needle' ever.
