Chapter twenty one

The first feeling that welcomed her out of oblivion was a sharp pain on her back and lower hip. Her eyes were still closed but as she turned, the pain intensified and she cried out softly in pain.

Vivienne didn't know how long she had been out but she was definitely not in the basement. There was no way sunlight could pour in through the basement windows and when she finally opened her eyes, she saw where she was.

The cold tar of the parking lot, saturated sunlight entering her eyes as she squinted, standing to her feet. It was a hard ordeal because as she tried to get to her feet, she fell back and groaned in pain.

Sitting up, she moved herself till she was leaning against a short steel pole. She pulled her top upwards to reveal a red mark on the side of her hip. That was where she had landed last night. Her phone was not in her pocket but she quickly remembered that she left it in her car to avoid any sort of harassment.
