Nie Li wanted Gu Yan to approach Ye Zong, the Patriarch of the Snow Wind Family and Ye Ziyan's father.

In response to his daughter's defiance, Ye Zong took drastic measures. He grounded Ye Ziyan within the confines of the City Lord's mansion, issuing strict orders that she was not allowed to leave the premises.
