She wasn't ready, her shaky hands could tell. She didn't imagine it to be this quick, "Can I go pack up my things?"
"No need for that. Just follow us the way you are and you'll be fine," the man spoke. She nodded and turned back to look at her house for one last time then she remembered. She dashed away from the front door and into her room. She bent under bed only to find it wasn't there. The box where she normally put the stone and the stone itself were missing.
"Miss Seraphina. There will be no need for clothes just kindly follow us and it would be fine," the man shouted from downstairs.
"Where is it?" She muttered to herself. After searching for a couple of minute, she gives up and heads downstairs.
"Took you long enough. Your parents are here don't you want to say bye to them," the man asked. Seraphina turned to meet the gaze of her parents but she doesn't say goodbye. She faced the front door and walked out.
"They don't want me. Why should I bother myself with people who don't want me?"
Walking out, she's led into an old school bus with its yellow and black colours looking all faded and washed, most of the seats had their springs coming out. Only she was in the bus and around her were the soldiers who stood in front of her house. The door closed and the bus started moving.
The soldiers around her made her nervous, like she was some kind of prisoner. Looking out the window, she noticed the bus was headed out of the city of Caparius. She wondered where the academy was.
Soon they came to a stop, the large bald headed man stood up from his seat and pressed a white big button on the ceiling of the bus. A gas emitted from the floor of the bus and Seraphina found herself slowly losing consciousness.
"I came all the way to Planet Earth to get you. It'd better be worth it," and with that she fell asleep.
She woke up on a white bed stretcher. A light shone directly at her head and all the other corners were dark. She tried to stand up but she noticed she was strapped entirely to the bed.
'This is it. They're going to kill me.'
"Monitor TR4. Person identified. Human cells, 100%. Other cells 0%. Information upload complete."
She heard something say, and she felt her body transported into another room. She found herself in a dark odd room with nothing but a window which was up high, nearly touching the ceiling.
The door behind her unlocked and a card appeared before her showing a picture of her and a strange code. Suddenly a screen appeared in front of her, a woman with her white shirt with glasses showed.
"I see you are getting acquainted with your room already."
"Uh hi. I-"
"Such a weird thing you are. Not one weird gene in your body... Welcome to the Zirturiu Military Academy. Classes have begun so don't expect anyone to wait for you. Special classes will be given to you after regular classes since you are rather different. Your ID...the one in your hand," the lady gestured.
"It's like your source of health, money and so on. Gain experiences by going to classes regularly and completing daily tasks that are given. It will help you. On your watch is a timetable for classes, the number written there is 0 which is your power level at the moment. The academy is divided into three ranks--- Rank 1, Rank 2 and Rank 3. Rank 1 ranges from 1-10 power level, Rank 2 ranges from 10-20 power level, and Rank 3 from 20-30 power level. The power level means the total power of your genes in your body. Right now…"
"I'm on power level 0."
"But if you work hard, you can make it. The academy grounds are free for your exploration. Curfew is by 11, you must be in your room before then or else punishments."
"Good luck Seraphina," and the screen flashed off. A compartment of the wall opened and a white suit was revealed. After putting on the suit, she accessed the door by flashing her card on the sensor. Walking out of room, shes met with white walls and tall corridors. Students just like her walked around either going to classes or around their friends. She tapped on her watch with the thought of maybe it would help her. Without knowing she bumped into someone.
"Whoa," she gasped as saw the person in front of her had the most beautiful eyes ever.
The girl she had bumped into had curly white hair and dark skin, what intrigued Seraphina the most was her eyes. Her left eye was the usual hazel green whereas her right contrasted of pink and purple.
"My apologies. You seem lost," the girl spoke.
"Uh- Yeah. I was told something about timetable on my watch. I can't seem to find where the classes are," Seraphina told showing the girl her watch. As Seraphina showed the girl her watch, she could see the girl's eyes turn to her in confusion.
"Your watch might be broken. There's no power level 0," the girl stated but all Seraphina concentration was on her eyes.
"We can get it fixed later. Says here we have the same class. Sci-Physics," the girl told.
"My name is Hveni by the way. Pleased to be of acquaintance," the girl named Hveni introduced herself with a bow.
"Um Hi. I'm Seraph." Seraphina said nervously. Something about the girl gave her chills, she felt safe yet scared like something otherworldly stood before her. They both walked down the tall corridors and soon they reached a class, students all around either throwing papers at each other and what not.
What came to Seraphina's head with the word 'Military Academy' she thought it would be the hard-core training like in the movies but instead was the opposite like the usual daytime school. While the teacher wasn't around, Seraphina used the opportunity to check out her watch. She looked around the students watch, not one had the power level 0.
'Was there a way to hide this thing?' She thought to herself, she didn't want herself to be odd amongst others. She noticed as everyone stared at Hveni who sat next to her reading a book. Her eyes darted to Hveni's watch and on it was something that terrified Seraphina the most.
The figure on her watch glowed brightly, the number 30.
