The Letter On The Floor

Siberia left the room after Yeong rested off. It was five past forty and Siberia left for her room while updating Yeong's condition to Mr. Han on her way. Dana stood just outside, before her entryway with her arms crossed. She wore the same clothing with the exception of this time, her hair was tied in a low braid. She looked at Siberia when she showed up, a smile spreading over her face.

"Took you sufficiently long to come dear" Dana spoke with a little mockery to her voice.

"Is there something I can assist you with?" Siberia despised Dana and right this moments she wanted to bounce at her like a wild feline, however she shunned herself from doing so and put on a phony grin all things considered.

"Nothing as of now" Dana came a bit closer to Siberia from her spot, her arms still crossed. "I see you two are together now, if I'm not mistaken" Dana raised her eyebrows a bit as she spoke.

"You were eavesdropping" Siberia looked at her in disbelief.

"I wouldn't say so. He is my son and as a mother I have every right to know what my son is doing, what's he talking about and so forth" Dana spoke, looking a little pissed.

"Okay, we're together" Siberia knew she can't retort a reply to that as she was aware Yeong was quite fond of his mother and remained calm and composed.

"It's just a mere obsession; you'll get over it soon so I advise you to just leave now before it's too late" Dana came closer to her ear as she spoke prior to leaving Siberia behind as she made her way into the elevator; flashing a grin that soon vanished as the elevator door shut.

Siberia gazed at the elevator briefly prior to advancing in. She found a piece of paper lying on the floor right close to her bed. She assumed it was of Dana's and immediately got hold of it. 'Should I read it?' she contemplated to herself as she shut her door and sat on the bed. 'This could be another wellspring of evidence'. She let out a flimsy breath prior to opening the folded piece of paper.

/Mrs. Dana,

Irrespective of your choices, I suggest you drop the idea of carrying out another experiment. It's a breach of the rights of humanity and it is illegal as I believe your work isn't authorized by the government. However if you still wish to continue, I suggest you find yourself other investors as I'm withdrawing. It's just too risky to keep going this way.

I went to the research lab to check on the experimental process that was executed last week. Things were going really well until last week. When I went into the office, the lab was burnt down and poor Jolene's body was lying on the table, all burned. The experiment was a short triumph for us to celebrate and I cannot bear to see more innocent people having their lives lost without even knowing what they're putting themselves into. Your ideas are a piece of art, but much to my dismay, I cannot continue.

Regards,

Siberia's hands were shaky as she read through the subsequent section. 'Jolene can't be mother they're discussing, it must be some other Jolene' she mulled over as she folded the paper back prior to snapping a photo and putting the paper back where it was. 'It can't be' she attempted to act smug to her viewpoints, yet however much she attempted, she realized she needed to verify it from somebody. The source's personality was unknown. It was a code to try not to be caught thus Siberia realized it was no good to attempt to track down this individual; she couldn't straight up ask from Dana as she would cause her own downfall on the off chance that she did. Her last choice was slipping into that lab yet Siberia didn't have even the foggiest idea concerning how she would slip into the lab.

While she was floating in her mind, she jumped as the door suddenly opened revealing Dana who stood there, looking as if she ran quite hard and indeed she did. 'Is it the letter?', Siberia gave her a questioned look prior to taking a gander at the letter down on the floor. Dana rushed in to grab hold, but Siberia was quick to do so before her thanks to the proximity.

"That letter" Dana was breathing quite hard as she spoke.

"Is it something important?" Siberia grinned as she spoke.

"It doesn't concern you" Dana glared at her as she spoke, the anger clear in her voice.

Siberia wanted to play more, but then she spotted Yeong stepping out of the elevator. She gave Dana the letter who quickly snatched it and Yeong saw it.

Yeong looked at his mother bemused "Mom?"

Dana looked at Siberia, stunned before looking back, trying to act natural. "Yeong, honey, what happened?"

"Uh, I'm here to check to Siberia" he gave his mother a hug prior to standing next to Siberia and placed his arms around her shoulder.

"I have an official announcement to make" He looked at her proudly as he spoke.

Though Dana knew what was coming she acted as if she knew nothing. "Oh do you. Let's hear it"

"I and Siberia are officially together" Yeong pecked Siberia on the checks as he looked from his mother to her.

"My my, aren't you taking things to fast? You ---"Dana was cut halfway by Yeong.

"Mom relax, I see brighter days ahead" he seemed unaware about his mother's intentions, but Siberia knew it all too well. She will try to break them apart.

'She is the start of a typhoon' Siberia thought to herself as she looked at Dana with a straight face.

"Then I wish you well" Dana plastered a fake smile as she left, shutting the door behind her.

Yeong turned to Siberia, grabbing hold of her waist to bring her closer. "Why did you leave?"

"Ah, I had to check if any of my things were here" She chuckled awkwardly as she spoke.

Yeong planted a soft kiss on her lips, "Are you feeling better?"

"Yea, better than before" She pecked him on the nose before getting out of his hold. "I need to do something so you should leave now" Siberia gently pushed him out.

"Wait wait wait" Yeong made an attempt to get back in, but Siberia closed the door halfway and wouldn't budge as she was quite strong herself.

"I'll be coming in a while" She winked and completely shut the door.

After making sure Yeong left, Siberia opened her gallery to see the photo she took. 'If only I could understand what this code means', she contemplated hard, but no avail. Out of the blue, a caller ID appeared on her screen. It was a unknown number and Siberia didn't hesitate to pick up.

"Hey it's Siberia here"

"Hello" a hoarse voice spoke from the other end.

"Uh, mind introducing yourself?" Siberia sounded perplexed.

"Have we been apart for so long that you don't remember me?"

Siberia paused for a moment, trying to figure out who it was until it suddenly clicked to her mind. 'Appa? It has to be him because it's only us who've been apart for so long without contact'

"Appa?"

"Ahaha, that's my girl"

"How did you know my number?" Siberia wasn't surprised to know that it was her father who after so long remembered her.

"Can we meet? I'm here in Seoul. Let's talk" He sounded desperate as he spoke.

"Why all of a sudden?" Siberia was flabbergasted to hear her father wanting to meet her. 'Did they make up already?' she thought to herself.

"I'll tell you in person okay? I'll be waiting for you at Itaewon that is served by subway line 6 at sharp 9 pm tomorrow."

Though Siberia didn't want to meet, she still believed she had to, "Okay" and she hung up after that.

'You're showing up after so long, why?'
