Zarah's POV
I am going to the mall for groceries because it's the weekend.
I was done buying groceries and on my way out when I saw an older woman drop her grocery bag. I went to her and helped her pick it up.
"Thank you, dear." The older woman thanked me.
"You're welcome," I answered.
"As my thanks, I will treat you. Do you like ice cream?" The woman asked.
"I do, but you don't have to," I said because she doesn't have to treat me.
"It's okay. Let's go to the ice cream parlor," The old woman said while dragging me.
"I will carry your grocery bag," I said because I saw that her bag was quite heavy for her to carry.
"Thanks, dear."
We went to the ice cream parlor while holding hands.
Upon arriving, I ordered coffee crumble and double dutch for her. After ordering, we both sat at a vacant table.
"Oh, it's very rude of me not to introduce myself. My name is Aubrey Lewis. You can call me Grandma. What's yours?" Grandma introduced herself and asked my name.
"My name is Zarah Lee," I answered.
"You're so beautiful and kind. How old are you?" I felt flustered when Grandma complimented me.
"I'm 25 years old," I answered.
"I think you and my grandson would be so good together. He is 31 years old. He is handsome and has no girlfriend yet because he is too busy with his work and not thinking about having a girlfriend and settling down," Grandma said. I bet her grandson is handsome, just like Grandma said, because she is gorgeous. Thirty-one and a 6-year age gap is okay for me, but a 10-year age gap is a no-no. And what Grandma described about her grandson reminds me of Mr. Lewis. Grandma's surname is also Lewis. No, there are lots of surnames like that.
"Can I have your number?" Grandma asked for my number, and I agreed and gave her my number.
"Okay. I can now contact you anytime. I will introduce you to my grandson tomorrow," Grandma said. Tomorrow? I am now considering what to wear because I am meeting her grandson. I want to look presentable. My instincts tell me I must go, and I don't want to ignore that.
I am curious about her grandson.
We finished eating ice cream and went outside the mall.
"Here's my driver. Come. I will drop you at your house." I am okay walking home because my home is far from the mall, but I agreed to Grandma's offer because I cannot say no to her.
Grandma's car is so expensive, I can tell. I bet she is so rich.
I told the driver my address, and after a few minutes, we arrived, and I got out of the car.
"Thank you for today, Grandma." I thanked Grandma.
"You're welcome. I will contact you later. See you tomorrow," Grandma reminded me and left.
I went inside the house, and it was tranquil. Sarah is not home yet because she said she would be busy today—both her and Matthew.
Grandma Aubrey's POV
I just met a beautiful, lovely, and kind girl, and I can tell that she is suitable for my grandson.
And then I thought of a plan. I will contact Yohan to come to the house tomorrow. I will introduce Zarah and Yohan to each other and ask them to marry each other. I know that Yohan will agree because he has no choice regarding me.
I am doing this for his sake. It's time for him to settle down. I know that they will learn to fall in love in the process.
I dialed Yohan's number.
"What is it, Grandma?" Yohan answered. I think he is still at the office working his butt off.
"Are you free tomorrow, dear?" I hope he is free tomorrow.
"I am, Grandma." Yes!
"Great! Can you come here tomorrow? Let's have lunch together." Please say that you will come. Fingers crossed.
"Okay. I will." Yes! My plan is going to be a success tomorrow.
"Okay. See you tomorrow," I said, and then the call ended.
Next, I dialed Zarah's number.
"Hello, dear. It's me, Grandma Aubrey," I said.
"Oh, grandma. Why did you call?" Zarah asked.
"I wanted to invite you to have lunch with me and my grandson tomorrow. Are you free?" I said, but Zarah didn't answer immediately. I bet she is thinking.
"Yes. I am free, and I will go there tomorrow." After a minute, Zarah answered.
"Great! I will send you the address and directions to my house. See you tomorrow," I said, then ended the call.
My plan will work.
Narrator's POV
The next day.
Zarah is on her way to Grandma Aubrey's house. She rode a taxi to her house.
Upon arriving, she was shocked because the house was so big.
"Wow," Zarah said while her mouth was open.
Zarah rang the doorbell, and a maid opened the gate.
"And who would you be?" The maid asked.
"My name is Zarah Lee. Grandma Aubrey invited me to come here," Zarah said nervously.
"Oh, come in. Ma'am Aubrey is expecting you," The maid said and accompanied Zarah inside the house.
Zarah was shocked because Grandma Aubrey's house was so big. When Zarah was inside the house, she was fascinated by the interior.
"Grandma is so rich," Zarah murmured.
"Hello, dear," Grandma Aubrey said as she approached Zarah.
"Hello, Grandma. Your house is so big and beautiful," Zarah said while looking around.
"Thanks, dear. Let's go to the kitchen. I made lunch already. Let's eat and wait for my grandson to arrive. He said he is almost here," Grandma said.
Grandma Aubrey and Zarah waited for Grandma Aubrey's grandson to arrive.
Zarah is very nervous about meeting Grandma Aubrey's grandson. She is clueless about why she is shy, and her heart beats so fast.
After ten minutes of waiting, someone entered.
"It must be him," Zarah murmured.
"Hello, grandma," A man said.
I looked behind me.
"Mr. Lewis?"
