Zarah's POV
Mr. Lewis? Grandma's grandson is Mr. Lewis? So, my instincts are right because they have the same surnames, and Mr. Lewis has the same qualities as Grandma described in her grandson's description.
Mr. Lewis and I were shocked to see each other.
"You know each other?" Grandma asked with a questionable look while looking at me and Mr. Lewis.
"She is my employee," Mr. Lewis answered.
"Mr. Lewis is my boss," I also answered.
"That's great! Let's eat first, and later, I will talk to you both about something," Grandma said happily. I'm curious about what we're going to talk about later.
The three of us ate quietly.
After a few minutes, when we were done eating, Grandma Aubrey talked.
"So, it's great that you both knew each other. I was going to introduce you to each other," Grandma said while holding her hands together.
"How did you two meet?" Mr. Lewis asked both me and Grandma.
"Zarah helped me at the mall yesterday because I dropped my grocery bag," Grandma quickly answered.
"Ah," Mr. Lewis said while nodding his head.
"Now, I want to know more about you, Zarah. I know that you are 25 years old, and I know your personality. I want to know more about you."
"Oh, I'm an architect graduate, and I'm currently working as an employee of Mr. Lewis at his company, which you already knew earlier. There's not much to tell, but I am living with just my best friend because my parents died in a car accident, which triggered my anxiety, but I'm okay now." I think I told Grandma a lot about me.
"I'm sorry to hear that," Grandma said sadly.
"It's okay, Grandma," I reassured her.
"You are the same as Yohan," Grandma said, and I looked at Yohan. Does Mr. Lewis's parents die in an accident as well?
"What are you going to say to us, Grandma?" Mr. Lewis said quickly. He is avoiding the topic.
"Oh, I will be straightforward. I want you to marry each other," Grandma happily said.
"What?" Both Mr. Lewis and I shouted with a shocked expressions.
Mr. Lewis and I looked at each other and then at Grandma.
"But why, grandma?" Mr. Lewis asked with a slightly angry expression and tone.
"Simple. I like Zarah for you. It would be best if you settled down, Yohan," Grandma answered.
"Can we decide first?"
"Sure"
"Zarah, can we discuss this matter in the garden outside?" Mr. Lewis looked at me.
"Okay," I said.
I followed Mr. Lewis.
I was so amazed when we were in the garden because it was so beautiful. The landscape is so beautiful. I am speechless.
Yohan's POV
I was shocked when Grandma said that.
We are now in the garden to decide about the marriage thing. I can't say no to Grandma. I have an idea, and I hope Zarah will agree with it.
"I have an idea," I told Zarah.
"What is it?" She asked.
"Let's have an agreement, a one-year contract. You must live at my house, but we must keep our marriage a secret. We will divorce after the contract expires. What do you say?" I said. I hope Zarah will agree. The contract agreement is the best plan that I have thought of.
"Live with you?" She asked with a shocked expression.
"Yes, because we are going to get married, and grandma may notice that we are not living together," I explained why we need to live under one roof. Even though we are in a contractual marriage and no one would know about it or us getting married, we still need to do this because Grandma would notice. I don't want Grandma to get mad at me.
"Okay," Zarah answered.
"Are you in with the contract?" I asked her.
"Yes," I'm glad she is in with the contract.
"Okay. Let's go back inside."
Zarah and I went back inside.
"So? What's your decision?" Grandma said.
"We agree," Both Zarah and I said.
"Great! I will plan the date and the cost of the wedding. You will choose the theme and the venue. It will be a private wedding, and you can invite your close friends," Grandma excitedly said.
"Okay, Grandma," I said.
"Come with me, Zarah. I will show you something," Grandma said to Zarah.
Zarah and Grandma went upstairs. I bet they are going to my room. I hope Grandma will not let Zarah see my baby pictures. It's pretty embarrassing, but I doubt it.
Narrator's POV
Grandma Aubrey opened a room and told Zarah to come in. They entered a room with lots of trophies, medals, and drawings.
Zarah was amazed by the number of medals and trophies inside the cabinet.
"Wow. That's a lot of trophies and medals. Also, the drawings are so beautiful," Zarah said while looking around the room.
"This is all Yohan's," Grandma Aubrey said.
"Wow"
"Zarah, there's a reason why I want you to marry Yohan, and I know that you are the one for him. I am now weak and old. I want to see my grandson marry a nice lady, and I finally found one, and it is you, Zarah. Take care of Yohan for Grandma," Grandma Aubrey said.
"I will, Grandma," Zarah assured Grandma Aubrey.
"I have a secret to tell you, Grandma," Zarah said.
"What is it?" Grandma Aubrey asked with a curious look on her face.
"I admired Mr. Lewis. I like him, Grandma," Zarah said. She also told Grandma Aubrey of their first encounter.
"I know this marriage will help you two get to know each other better and learn to love each other. I know Yohan will fall in love with you eventually."
"I hope so too, Grandma," Zarah said, hoping that what Grandma Aubrey said will come true.
Zarah looked at Yohan's achievements and drawings. Grandma Aubrey also let Zarah see Yohan's baby pictures.
After a few minutes of looking around Yohan's room, they went down.
Zarah's POV
Mr. Lewis had lots of achievements. He is adorable in his baby pictures.
I looked at the time, and I need to go home now.
"Grandma, I think I need to go home now," I told Grandma because I knew Sarah was at the house.
"Send Zarah to her house, Yohan," Grandma said to Yohan.
"Okay. Let's go, Zarah," Mr. Lewis said.
"See you soon, Grandma," I said, following Mr. Lewis.
"See you soon, dear," Grandma answered.
Mr. Lewis and I went to where he parked his car.
"Get inside," Mr. Lewis said. He opened the door for me. He is such a gentleman. I went inside, and his car smelled so good.
"Where do you live?" Mr. Lewis asked for my address. I told him where I lived, and he started the car.
During the ride, we are just quiet.
"Are you moving to my house today?" Thank God, Mr. Lewis cut the silence.
"Ah, I will move tomorrow," I told him because I needed to tell Sarah about this and what happened today.
"Okay. Please wait for me to leave the office at 7:30, then we will go to your house to get your luggage. You need to pack your stuff today."
"Ok"
And it became silent again. I look at Mr. Lewis; he has that severe face while driving.
He is so handsome.
After 30 minutes, we arrived at my house.
"Thank you, Mr. Lewis," I thanked him for driving me to my house.
"No problem. Call me Yohan, but when we are in the office, call me Mr. Lewis."
"Okay. Y-Yohan," I said while stuttering.
"Ok"
I got out of his car and waited for him to leave, and then I went inside.
"Who drove you home, bestie? Do you have a suitor already?" Sarah said with a curious look.
"No. I will tell you something, but don't shout, okay?" I told Sarah.
"Okay," Sarah said, but I knew she would shout.
I told Sarah what happened that afternoon and how Yohan and I first met.
"What?" I told you Sarah would shout.
"I said don't shout."
"Okay. What? This is destiny. My bestie is going to marry a rich man, and she is leaving me alone here," Sarah said while pouting.
"I will visit if I have time," I promised her.
"Ok"
"Tell Matthew for me; I will just be in my room to pack my stuff," I said.
"Ok"
I went to my room and packed my stuff.
I opened my locket, revealing photos of my parents.
"Mom, Dad. I miss you so much. You know that I'm getting married, though it's just a contractual marriage. But I am happy because the one that I'm marrying is the one that I admire and like. I hope both of you are here to witness it, and Dad will accompany me to the altar."
