Alcor's Dungeon

"Please join our party!"

The blonde man said with an enthusiastic smile, as he reached out his hand. I ignored him and went toward the dungeon, but there was an invisible barrier blocking my way.

[You need a party of 3 to enter the dungeon!]

I looked back and saw the blonde man still smiling in my direction, with his sister hiding right behind him.

"Welcome to our party!"

[You've accepted the invitation of 'Julius']

"Welcome to our party."

The blonde woman was timid and hid behind her brother Julius. Julius has a shield and a warhammer, but he's wearing leather armor, making him slightly mobile, and with the shield slightly more durable, I can't help but notice the sun emblem on his leather armor.

"Ah, right, I'm Julius, a cleric of the church of Helios, the of the sun, and this is Camilla, an apprentice wizard of Alanor, the town nearby."

He's a cleric, and not an apprentice cleric, meaning he's already ascended his class and is just helping his sister level up.

"I'm Clarent, a disciple swordsman of Alcor."

"An Alcorian swordsman, huh?"

"Well, treat us well, Clarent!"

Huh? They don't mind me being an Alcorian swordsman? Well, so long as they do their jobs well in this dungeon, then it's okay for anyone, I guess.

"So, this is our position, Clarent. You'll act as the vanguard, I'll be the support, and Camilla will be the mage."

That's a pretty balanced team composition. I nodded, and we entered Alcor's Dungeon.

[You've met the acquirements!]

[Entering the Dungeon!]

Inside was like an old and abandoned castle, the dirty red carpet has tears, and the chandelier is hanging by the thread as it looks like it was about to fall. Then I felt divine power behind me as Julius buffed the entire party.

"Oh, Sun Helios, protect us."

[Radiant Shield!]

A spell that improves our defenses.

"Help us conquer our enemies."

[Sun's Radiance!]

A spell that improves our attacks, and makes our attacks holy, perfect against the undead and fiends.

"And please light our way in the dark."

[Light!]

A spell that lights our way. It summons like a light bulb and follows a designated person.

Chain casting, it's when the caster recites multiple passages of their books or scrolls, with every other verse being a keyword in activating the spell, for clerics, it's their prayers, it's also really hard to do as it requires a lot of intelligence and concentration to chain cast.

"Now, Clarent, please lead the way."

I stepped forward and unsheathe my sword. I was at the front, and the [Light] spell was like a floating light bulb next to me. Camilla and Julius were behind me, making a sort of triangle formation.

"This place looks like an undead dungeon."

Julius said with much confidence, there's a big chance that it's an undead dungeon as undead dungeons are normal, rotten swamps, crypts, graveyards, or any abandoned places like towns, houses, barracks, and a castle.

"Ragghh!"

There was the shrieking sound of a ghoul coming from all sides. Dozens, no hundreds of them stormed us in all directions.

[Fiery Wrath of Alcor!]

Blue flames wrapped around my sword, and when I swung it, an image of a lion made of blue flames pounced on the enemies, turning dozens of them into ashes in an instant. If the image of my master's flames were that of rose petals, mine was a raging lion, and the lion went around us razing the ghouls that got too close.

.

..

...

I've killed at least 40 of them, but there were still more. Some from the very back started running away as holy power emanated from the flames.

"So, powerful!"

Camilla hasn't started casting as the number of enemies surprised her, but when she saw the mighty lion, her fear melted away, and she started chanting. A magic circle appeared right beneath her as she raised her staff high.

[Fireball!]

Camilla launched an enormous ball of fire from her staff and when it hit the ghouls at the back, it exploded and killed at least 20 of them in an instant, and chunks of flesh flew in different directions.

Camilla is a powerful mage, killing 20 of them in just one instant. Soon she started casting another spell, and then a ball of lightning propelled itself from the tip of her staff, electricity arched out of the ball of lightning, and it electrocuted the enemies, then after some time, the lightning ball exploded killing more of them. Her casting speed is impeccable, and the damage of her spells is top-notch compared to wizards at her level.

[Lightning Orb!]

"Clarent, push ahead, I'll keep Camilla safe!"

"There's no need to say that. I was planning on doing so anyway."

I charged into the crowd of ghouls and my sword sliced through their bodies with ease, although these ghouls are level 40, they're no match for me who has a title that increases the effectiveness of my Alcor-based skills, and stats that could compare to a level 80 player.

My sword danced in the air, and wherever it passes blue flames would follow, and the enemies would die in drove.

Julius imbued his weapon with holy power, making it glow in a golden radiance. He bashed the head of the enemies, and the enemies' heads would explode as holy power surged through their bodies.

Camilla kept casting her spells as she trusted Julius to protect her while she does so, and when an enemy got too close to her she didn't flinch, as my flames reached the ghoul and burnt it to crisps.

In just a few minutes, there were no ghouls left, only charred body parts and ashes left behind by these ghouls.

"Wow, you're so strong, Clarent!"

"Yes, thanks for joining our party, Clarent."

"Don't mention it. I'm more surprised about Camilla's magic power, so as Julius' buffs."

"Hehe, you're making us blush."

The three of us went to the 2nd floor and didn't explore the other rooms. The 2nd floor didn't have monsters on them, but they littered it with traps, Camilla summoned multiple mini golems and made them walk across the room to the 3rd floor, most golems got destroyed, but since we now know where the traps are, we made our way to the 3rd floor safely.

I looked back and saw Camilla drinking mana potions. From what I know, a mana potion costs around 10 gold per bottle, and looking behind her, she had left a trail of empty mana bottles.

"So, you're rich?"

Camilla nodded, and Julius said.

"Pretty much. Our parents are rich, we only played because it's fun and I want to be a pro gamer. How about you?"

Camilla, who finished drinking her mana potion, looked at me in curiosity.

"I want to find ."

"? Didn't most of the players of the game already give up on finding it? And I've heard that it's only a myth developed by the devs so that it would draw in a lot of players."

"I heard from some of my friends that it's just a myth and that even the Head of the Alanorian Magic Academy, said it as well. So, how're you going to find it, with zero to no clues?"

I shrugged and kept on walking up the stairs. There is one clue that I have. It is the of 'The Unknown' from the looks of it. 'The Unknown' is an amalgamation of of this world, and not from myths in the real world.

"I don't know, but in the end, humans always find a way, don't they? Also, I think this is the last floor."

Once we reached the last floor, the door behind us closed and there was only armor in the middle of the room. In its hand was a great sword, and there was a feeling of dread oozing out of it.

"Is that... what I think it is?"

Julius shuddered at seeing it, it's not a living armor...

"A death knight."

The death knight started moving. Its old armor creaked, and it raised its rusted and old great sword. A death knight is a high-level monster. They range from levels 110-210. Unlike normal monsters, Death Knights have skills and know martial arts.

"Julius provide buffs, and Camilla only use lightning-type spells!"

The death knight charged at us, and I counter-charged it with blue flames highly concentrated around my sword, with mana reinforcing my body.

[Sun's Radiance!]

[Radiant Shield]

[Helios' Blessing!]

[Solar Corona!]

[Helios' Blessing] and [Solar Corona] are exclusive spells of the clergymen of the Helios church. The former increases all stats by 20% for 5 minutes, while the latter increases all fire and holy damage by 50% for 2 minutes.

It caught the Death Knight off guard as when its sword clashed with mine; he was the one who flew a few dozen meters, and he crashed onto the wall.

[You've Dealt 12,456 Damage!]

Then a stormy cloud formed on top of him, and a large bolt of lightning hit his body. The electricity lingered a little as he wore plate armor.

[Lightning Bolt!]

But the Death Knight stood up as if nothing happened, and when he raised his great sword again, a familiar blue flame around it, and it took the shape of a skull.
