Chapter 7
Violet's POV
As Summer and I shifted into our owl forms I spotted Balto and Edward up ahead. Balto was growling softly but because of Summer and I's heightened senses we could hear him clearly whereas Edward would be struggling to hear Balto. Edward looked like he was going to shift at any time but Balto was prepared for it as I was able to sense that Balto was tense and ready to defend himself if need be.
I heard howls in the distance from Edwards pack of were wolfs and I gave Balto an owl hoot signaling Balto to start slowly melting into the forest thicket to head back to our second home. As Balto heard me he slightly nodded his head in recognition and started to slow his pace but kept walking with Edward. Balto kept walking with Edward until they reached about 100 meters from the pack-house. As Balto reached the 100-meter mark he slowly melted into the forest quietly not making a sound. When Balto was far away enough for the were-wolves not to notice him, he slowly increased his pace until he reached his maximum pace. Summer and I followed Balto into our second home. Once we got there I shifted back to my human form with my clothes on and the next thing I knew was that the floor was getting closer and then I passed out...

Jackson's POV

After the talk with Jake, Chris, Zane and Edward I decided to get Edward to get a team of warriors and a few trackers to search the place the wolf was at for the morning. I also got Edward to then scout the town straight away.
A few hours later, I saw Edward our best warrior, walking with a wild wolf that, if looks could kill Edward would be 6ft under. I was shocked to see Edward looking close to shifting. He was usually really calm and he was really hard to get annoyed or angry so I wonder what happened. Something bad probably had happened and I probably wouldn't like it. Wait come to think about it wasn't Edward supposed to be on patrol? I was so deep in thought that I didn't realize Edward came up to me until he spoke.
"I hate wild wolves especially that one!" Edward said tiredly. I saw a bit of blood on his arm.
"Come to my office I will get Jake and Chris and we will talk about what happened in there," I said I mind-linked the other two and once they got in my office we continued.
"Shit what happened to you?" Jake asked Edward who then looked at me than the forest from the window of the office that overlooked the front of the pack-house and out to the forest then he back to me then sighed and started to talk about what happened.
"I went to get a team together for tomorrow and prepare them for the morning to look at what the wolf was protecting. I then headed out to scout the town and ended up somehow at the local vets and just so happen to look in one of the windows and saw a younger girl around Zane's age I think and saw that she was all alone and looking around trying to find something or someone by the looks of it. I walked in and I then sat next to the younger girl and tried to talk to her but to no avail. Then one of the doors that lead to the back where I think patients are opened up and then a girl around our age come through with the wolf. She then stopped looked at the younger girl then at me than the younger girl. The younger girl ran straight to the older girl's arms and jumped into the older girl's arms and hugged/held her. I am guessing they are sisters because they look alike. Anyway, the wolf then growled at me and the older girl nudged the wolf who, then looked at her in defeat I guess. I don't really know but then nudged the older sister to walk forward I guess then all three of them walked towards the border of the woods and the town aka our border. I then started to follow far enough away that they wouldn't hear me but they stopped and looked to be waiting for me to catch up. I waited to but then I heard the older sibling turned around and asked what my name was, why I was following them and why I was trying to talk to her friend I think she didn't want me to know they are sisters if they are. Anyway, she was very intimidating and very angry but then said something that made all of us including the wolf surprised and looked at her. She said and I quote "Come on and go back to your pack, warrior" she then froze at what she said like she didn't mean to say it and was in complete shock that the younger of the two girls said something to the wolf who got the older girls attention buy nudging the girl's hand. The older girl said something to the wolf who growled lowly but then walked to me and tried to herd me but when that didn't work he then grabbed my shirt and practically dragged me until I finally understood to follow him and reluctantly followed until we reached closer to here." Edward said.
All of us were shocked at what happened.
"Did you get the names of the girls?" Chris asked.
"No I didn't but the older girl looked kind of familiar I guess. " Edward answered back.
"They might go to our school then if the older one looked somewhat familiar," Jake said
"Yeah the older one could be in one of our classes," Chris said.
As they were talking I was thinking about how they know about us and how they got Edward's position correct.
"Hey, Edward did they smell like us?" I asked him thinking if they were rogues.
"They smelt like regular humans to me," Edward said.
"Was the older one really protective of the younger one?" Jake said suddenly.
"Yeah, she was," Edward said looking confused.
"Let's keep a lookout tomorrow at school I will be coming tomorrow anyway so will all three of you. Edward tells me if you see her tomorrow and we will go from there." I said dismissing the meeting and thinking about the two girls and their wild wolf.
