Chapter 8

Violet's POV

2 hours later

I woke up from someone shaking me, and another nudging me. I groaned trying to wake up. It took me a while to remember what happened before I passed out.

"Please tell me that was a dream and did not actually happen," I asked Valarie my hybrid.

"Yes, it did happen. I am sorry Vi." Valarie said back to me sounding sad and defeated.

"Oh, um okay," I said, not really knowing what to say. "Hey Valarie, could we have erased his memory of what I said before we sent him back and replace what I said with something else?" I asked wondering if that would have helped if I were not in shock and if I could have functioned properly.

"I am not sure that would have worked 100% because if he had a mate she could possibly be able to recognize a replacement memory or even the Alpha could possibly be able to tell. They could even have a witch/warlock on their side or even know of one who could have been able to tell that the warrior's memories had been replaced, just by the aura that can appear whenever someone has messed with the mind or memory. So I personally wouldn't risk exposing yourself or Summer in case the false memory was discovered and you two got found out. I don't want to risk you two being experimented on, so in the long run, I wouldn't do it and I would even take over you if need be." Valarie said to be making good points and making a threat at the end with the whole taking over my thing.

We never fight or really argue with each other so I knew she meant what she said about taking over from me if she felt like she needed to.

"Violet, are you awake now?" I hear Summer asking me whilst sobbing.

"Hey Summer, it's alright I'm fine, come here," I said to Summer.

"Are we going to have to move now?"

"We might have to, but remember that I will always protect you no matter what okay? We will be fine as long as we trust each other and stick together. Now, why don't you go and get some food and then sleep so we are rested for whatever comes tomorrow?" I said to Summer while calming her down and trying to rescue us both that everything will be fine.

"Okay promise me you won't leave me?"

"I promise, now let's get changed and let's get some food. Balto you rest, I will get you food on the way back." I said to both Summer and Balto as Balto was laying beside me the whole time waiting for me to wake up whilst he himself was still trying to recover. Summer helped me get up then I bent down to pick Balto up to lay him in the nearby burrow for him to sleep. Whilst I did that Summer went swimming in the nearby lake to clean herself. When I put Balto in the burrow I went swimming in the lake as well to clean myself then both Summer and I started to change into clothes.

Summer had on a pair of blue skinny jeans with a few ripped holes in them, a pink top, paired with white converse. I however put on some black skinny jeans with a red top, my black leather jacket, and combat boots. I have a gun and a few throwing knives in my leather jacket if I needed them. I grabbed a backpack for Summer so she can carry it and so that I can put both Summer and I's wallet and phones in it.

We began walking to town to get some food for both of us. As we got into town we decided to just eat takeaway, we got pizza, garlic bread, and drinks. Once we ate the pizza we put the garlic bread in Summer's backpack as well as the drinks then headed home but I had to get a deer on the way home from Balto.

Once Summer and I got home I put the small doe, that I was able to hunt down in my wolf form, near Balto so he wouldn't have to move that much to eat. While Summer started to eat her part of the garlic bread, I walked over and grabbed my garlic bread, and ate it. When we finished eating Summer and I shifted into our owl forms and we both flew to a nearby tree to sleep.

The Next Day

I woke up, still in my owl form, and flew down and shifted into my human form, wearing the same clothes as last night before I decided to go out for a walk to try and clear my head.

Before I went for a walk I changed into black Nike leggings, a black sports bra, a tank top, a burgundy top, and a pair of runners. I then walked over to Balto to let him know that I am going for a run.

"Wake up Balto," I said softly to him, he slowly woke up and nodded his head letting me know without talking that he is listening.

"I am going away for a run in human form to clear my mind, let me know if anything happens, please. I love you, get some rest." I said to Balto knowing he most likely will stay up to keep an eye out.

Balto slightly nodded his head letting me know that he heard and that he will stay up and look out for Summer.

I started to walk towards the border of the forest and the town but I made sure my path was not direct as that could lead the Night Star Pack to our new home. Once I made sure that the path would be near impossible to follow to decipher for anyone. I started to jog around the whole boundary of the forest.

As I was jogging I started to soon find myself lost in my thoughts, to the point where I didn't realize that my jogging turned into a run. Well actually closer to a sprint. But to a werewolf, my run is like a run for your life sprint. When I fully registered my speed I slowed down but was not out of breath.

I continued with my run/jog around town for about 5 laps as it took me around half an hour per lap around town. When I noticed that it was 7.30 I headed to the café near my work to get something to eat and to also ask my boss if I could leave Balto at the vet's in her care whilst Summer and I are at school. The reason why I want to leave Balto in my boss's care is so that I know that he is actually getting rest cause I know that if I left him at the new place he would stay awake and fight anything or anyone if they get too close. I don't want to risk Balto getting any more injured so that's why I am going to ask Dr. Rose to look after him for me whilst Summer and I are at school.

After I got some food for all of us from the café, I went to the front desk at work to ask if my boss Dr. Rose was in and available. When the girl at the front desk (no, I cant' remember her name as she's not usually here when I am) says yes, I went to Dr. Rose's office door and knocked on the door.

"Hi, come in." I heard Dr. Rose say from the other side of the door. I walked in after she said this and I looked to make sure I wasn't disturbing her although the girl at the front desk said I could go ahead and knock on the door.

"Hi Violet, what can I do for you this morning?" Dr. Rose said when she looked up from her computer to look at who knocked at her door.

"Hi Dr. Rose, would I be able to bring Balto here whilst Summer and I are at school so that I know he will actually rest. I know that he won't if he was left at home especially if we aren't there?" I ask Dr. Rose.

"Sure thing hun, you know that I love him and that he can stay in here whenever bring him over before you girls go to school and I'll look after him. Now go on and get back home so you can get ready for school you guys had a long day yesterday. I will keep the door unlocked so just knock and if I'm not in here just leave him in here. Now run along and go home, see you soon hun." Dr. Rose said to me, which I then left to go home.
